these are BY FAR the BEST tutorials I've seen thus far! Martin does such a badass job of describing every step in detail, leaving nothing to guess about. Other channels seem to breeze over technical steps, and leave out a ton of helpful advice. Thanks a ton
Had spend 3 hours checking silhouette videos and none helped , wasted 4 to 5 vinyls, saw your video, gave it a try and voila! turned out awesome. Had my first perfect cut on silhoutte thanks to you.. Thank you for your time and help. God bless.
Thank you Mr. Martin Butler, I have been trying to start the T-Shirt making process without all the hassle and mess of screen printing. Your videos are absolutely wonderful and easy to follow. I am really just wanting to start with slogans then move into imaging, so I believe I have found my answers to many questions. SO GLAD I found you, great instructions. I'll keep watching that's for sure.
Just what I was after .thank you so much , business going well from the early days and all because I saw one of your videos . The best in the business .thank you again x
Hello!! Omg!! By far your tutorials are the best for the cameo cutters...i have watched numerous and I do mean numerous and you show the funts, setting, what to click etc...was trying to learn how to flip a quote and BC you took the time to go step by step I was very successful at what I was trying to achieve after watching so many others...please,please,please continue your tutorials as you have in this one!! Thank you so much and continued success to you and your business!! GOD BLESSINGS TO YOU
Hi, just want to say how wonderfully helpful your vids are. Im totally new to all this. Hav'nt even got any equipment yet but been researching for weeks from scratch and have completely gone round in mind boggling circles till I stumbled across 1 of your videos, which has led to 1 after another. You make it all make sence and the penny has now dropped, so thakyou for your wonderfull tutorials.
Dee F Hey, Thanks for watching and i'm glad the video's helped. You might want to check out my tutorial dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ and covers everything I do in this business and you'll get email support from me as well. To your success Martin
Thanks for your reply. I will check that out. iv been going through extactly what you speak about in your early days about going on forums to try to learn and seeming to get conflicting or worthless advice and also watching youtube videos that either have no volume and your just left watching a cursor moving round a screen or they may as well be speaking outer mongolian, lol. But yeah.. great 'start with the basics' advice. Also i absolutely agree with your attitude on the rat race.
Thanks for a great video - I am new to the Siihoutte and found this to be one of the best explanations. Will certainly give this a go as I have 3 grandsons who will love their own T shirt design. Will also check out your mug one too.
Fantastic video, thanks Martin! I've always wonder how to make t-shirts, but all previous videos I've watched seemed over complicated, but your own process/video is very easy to follow. Many thanks for sharing and best of luck to you.
Hi Martin thank you for the videos had my machine a while and was about to give in before I found YOU. Can I use a tattered lace memory stick in get some images in my PCs to send to the cameo and can you use just a domestic hot iron to transfer an odd t shirt or is it a must for the heat press thank you Helen (Dagenham)
GENIO!! gracias por este video tutorial vivo en Argentina y me has ayudado mucho ! thank you very much!! waiting for more videos I wish i could buy your tutorial but I havent got credit card regards and God bless u!
Sue, I normally apply the transfer first and then apply the vinyl after. It doesn't matter if you double press but just make sure you place a teflon sheet over everything. Regards Martin
If we want bigger words that are 11X10 or so, do I need to rotate the lettering so that it doesn't run off the edge of the vinyl? This is all new to me! Thanks so much for your videos, they are very detailed!
Hi Martin, Firstly thank you for your insightful videos. I wanted to get into Vinyl's Im a beginner. 1) what is the best machine to purchase for a beginner (price and quality wise) ? 2) where can I purchase Vinyl paper that has been pre-cut for usage? thanks
Hello. Thanks for the GREAT video!!! I wanted to ask your opinion... My wife and i are getting married in July, and decided that it was better to buy a set up to make some t-shirts and vinyl sticker decals. I am also a drone and rc hobbyist, so making vinyl graphics would not just be fun, but hopefully cost effective. I wanted to ask what you thought was the best option for around 5-600 or less? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!!!
If you are wanting to make stickers, you'll need a vinyl cutter. I use the Silhouette Cameo and it's great for this. If you want to do T shirts as well, you'll need a decent heat press. Just found your channel. What a wealth of information, thanks!! If I do not have a teflon sheet yet, is it a good option to use parchment paper with my heat press? {I've heard of a few others using that}
+Julie Ann HI, You can use that but you might as well get one. You can get them from www.targettransfers.com/d/AC03/Cover-Sheets Hope this helps. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, Thank you so much for the outstanding video, I did in fact gain considerable insight and knowledge from your well presented DIY vid. I came away with only one question, what brand name is the material you used for the slogan to be cut on? I'm in the US and the actual product name would be a big help. I did buy the Cameo a few minutes ago on amazon and I'll be buying the press tonight as well. Thanks Much! you're a prince!
Hey Jay, Glad you enjoyed the video the clothing vinyl I was using is basic Hot Flex Clothing vinyl. There are many makes so to find a good vinyl, just Google a "clothing vinyl supplier" and look for a reputable supplier instead of just buying the cheapest on Ebay. This way, you'll be guaranteed to have the quality you'll need to last. We buy our vinyl in 330mm sheets but you can also buy them on rolls, we just find it easier this way. Cheers Martin
Im trying to start small to test the waters. Do you think my silhouette portait would do fine for now? So far Ive made one shirt for my daughter. It turned out nice.
Hi Martin.. Thanks for another great video! You always answer everything I'm looking for. I'm setting up my own printing business & buying a cameo, but I'm thinking of getting a stahls maxx press. Just the other day I seen someone had issues with scorch marks.. he said his vinyl needed a 30 second press though. Have you heard any bad reviews? Or do you think it was the time of press? The tip of covering the whole shirt in the protector is one ill defo be using 😊
Martin just one more question.. I'm going to be printing on mainly baby clothing, does it matter if I have a large press? I'd rather have the option to do adult stuff now and again if need be.
If I was doing smaller garments that were not big enough to get collars ect' to overhang the press, I would get some teflon covered pads to pop inside the garments so you don't press the seams and collars. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin! Your videos are very informative. Thanks a lot! I have one question and i need your help too. I have recently started my t shirt printing business in India, i would like to know how can i get the Vinyl? Is this some special vinyl or the one which is available in the market? Martin, your reply on this will be high appreciated.
Does the Cameo come with that program you are using for designing the layout before printing text on vinyl ? or do i need to buy the very expensive SignCut Pro from Subliblanks ?
I think I'm going to purchase a Stahl Hotronix hreat press. One quick question. Do you think I will encounter any issues with size if I go with the 11 x 15 heat press? I will only use transfer paper that is 8.5 by 11 so I should be fine, right? Thanks Martin.
Hi Jeff, If you are only doing A4 transfers (this is what we mostly use) you will be fine. In general, you should go with the industry standard size but the main thing is to buy a quality heat press like a Stahl. Cheers Martin
hey martin, I have your tshirt DVD and your mug course on udemy. great stuff but Im not clear on getting the business. do you have anything that specifically goes thru low or no cost marketing tactics you use to get the business? it would be nice to have something step by step that says: 1. do this 2. then do this 3. then do this

Hi. All I'm trying to do is learn how to print some club t-shirts for a kickboxing club. Plain club name and small logo, onto a medium weight plain white t shirt. I prefer vinyl. can you print onto vinyl from a home computer, and use a cheap press to attach it? yes, I'm a complete beginner looking to save a few quid :) help appreciated.
You can't really print on vinyl but you can print on Transfer papers using your home computer. I have plenty of vids on my channel showing this. You can also use a vinyl cutter to cut out vinyl but you can only produce quality t shirt graphics with a quality heat press. Anything else will peel off and not last.
+Martin Butler Thank you Martin, i'll take a look at your vids. I just need a very cheap way to create club t shirts. They're not long-term, and I give them away. They're mainly for kids just to train in.
Does it matter what material the shirt is made of? Does 100% cotton work best or a 50 50 blend? Also, do you need a heat press? Is it possible to do with an iron?
these are BY FAR the BEST tutorials I've seen thus far! Martin does such a badass job of describing every step in detail, leaving nothing to guess about. Other channels seem to breeze over technical steps, and leave out a ton of helpful advice. Thanks a ton

Hello. Thanks for the GREAT video!!! I wanted to ask your opinion... My wife and i are getting married in July, and decided that it was better to buy a set up to make some t-shirts and vinyl sticker decals. Just found your channel. What a wealth of information, thanks!! If I do not have a teflon sheet yet, is it a good option to use parchment paper with my heat press? {I've heard of a few others using that}
+Julie Ann HI, You can use that but you might as well get one. You can get them from www.targettransfers.com/d/AC03/Cover-Sheets Hope this helps.

I have found version 2.9 to be a more stable version of the software especially for troubleshooting cut settings
Good comment Ben. Thanks for your input. Cheers

Great video, Do you know where i can get cheap and high quality transfer vinyl ? And a cheap Silhuette Cameo plotter machine ?

Yes Tracy, I used a Craft Robo for 9 years and that's pretty much the same as the Portrait.
thanks for making it seem simple
It's just a matter of the right equipment and some training from someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks for your comment.
What is the white material you placed over the vinyl before pressing it.
James McLeish

The tip of covering the whole shirt in the protector is one ill defo be using 😊
The Stahl Maxx press is a good press. A teflon sheet will prevent scorch marks. i've not heard of a 30 second vinyl.
Good luck.

Martin
Brilliant.
Yeah I did wonder about that vinyl. Thanks again for your help!
no probs :)

I have one question and i need your help too.
I have recently started my t shirt printing business in India, i would like to know how can i get the Vinyl? Is this some special vinyl or the one which is available in the market?
Martin, your reply on this will be high appreciated.
+Gift2Grab HI, Just Google "Clothing vinyl" to find suppliers that will ship to you. It's just standard clothing vinyl that I use.
Cheers
Martin
Thank you so much
liferock Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks
Martin
Does the Cameo come with that program you are using for designing the layout before printing text on vinyl ? or do i need to buy the very expensive SignCut Pro from Subliblanks ?
+HearGear I do say it comes with the cutter at 3m1s in the vid.
hey Martin, just curious is this the same HTV you can buy from a retail store?
Hi is the Ecotank ET-2750 All-in-One Wireless Inkjet printer any good for the t.shirt print
great vid

Yes, I use an Epson 1500W inkjet printer.

Thank you Martin Butler
hey martin, I have your tshirt DVD and your mug course on udemy. great stuff but Im not clear on getting the business. do you have anything that specifically goes thru low or no cost marketing tactics you use to get the business? it would be nice to have something step by step that says:
1. do this

Do you prefer camo over the cricut?
Does it matter what material the shirt is made of? Does 100% cotton work best or a 50 50 blend? Also, do you need a heat press? Is it possible to do with an iron?
Most people prefer 100% cotton t shirts so that's what we use. You really need a heat press for this.
Cheers
Martin
Do you ever find yourself needing to cut a design larger than 12 inches ? Perhaps for an adult XL or larger ?
+FrankieM Yes, the Cameo can cut upto 10 foot in length and 12 inches wide.
Cheers
Martin
Thank you!
Is it possible if you use a normal printer to have those letters and just cut it using scissors?
Not really bud. Not a professional way of doing it and it would take too long.
