    Yes yes yes to bedtime routines. We tell our kids that after their bedtime it’s “grown up time” when mommy and daddy can be together. Whether we’re cuddling with a movie or we’re in the bedroom it’s our quality time as husband and wife not mom and dad. Flipping the switch from parent to partner regularly is soooo important for our marriage. We also have one day a week where grown up time is him gaming with friends and I’m doing a hobby of mine so we get “me time” as well.

    The amount of judgement and ignorance towards using dog pepper spray is absolutely out of touch. If your dog is running at me barking & growling and I have no idea what their next move is, I’m sure as heck giving myself a chance to get away. That would be the owner’s fault for not keeping them contained or trained. We are not killing your dogs, we’re providing a buffer. Unless you have a better alternative, that’s one of the only non-lethal options.
    The amount of times delivery drivers alone have been told “oh he doesn’t bite” *proceeds to get bit* then told “he’s never done that before” is absolutely asinine. Unpredictability requires a level of protection.

    I was never afraid of dogs until I got attacked .... while walking my baby in the stroller with my husband!! Neighbor had let their vicious dog out of the fenced in backyard and it straight up lunged at my husband and he had to kick it off and fight it away from us... The main reason I carry pepper spray when I walk/hike alone is not for people its for the random dog that doesn't want to leave me alone.

    Even as a mega dog lover, friendly well trained dogs don’t just run up to strangers unprompted. I’ve had a few times on walks with my own dog where super aggressive dogs have charged us and I’ve had to him and chase them away, it’s honestly a pretty good idea to carry a deterant just in case!

    💕🌸💕 love it when you do Q/A's! I have been attacked by dogs on 2 separate occasions while walking and riding my bike. Wished I had pepper spray at the time! Had to get stitches to my face the first time. Second time wasn't as bad! And in my city it seems like everyone owns a viscous dog! Super annoying when you have to walk everywhere. Now I take pepper spray with me every time I leave!
    Thanks for shining your light so bright for us all! You are inspiration!

    I have only recently started to work on my fear of dogs. My own dog bit me in 2022 i think and i couldn’t walk past him, see him without shivering in fear. My heart would pound out of my chest. I refused to see him at all. Until situation change and my parents needed to go on vacation and i was the only one who could watch him so i had to learn his body language all over again. Regaining some sort of confidence with my dog, it also helped me with other ones as well. I m proud of myself when i walk past a dog without actively shivering and looking over my shoulder 1000 times. I cheered on myself when i fed a street dog a sandwich with my own hand on my own the other day. Some days are still hard. I hear barking in the distance and i look pver my shoulder and around me 100 times until i reach my destination but it s one step at a time with this. Thing is, there had to be a drastic change with no other option ( mu parent going on vacation) for me to start getting over my fear, otherwise i would have remained terrified without making the change on my own. Like i wouldn t get out of the house and walk alone, i would constantly look over my shoulder, i wouldstart crying when i d see a dog, cause if my own dog bit me, imagine what a street one would do.

    dogs can be very dangerous. People can tell me all they want how their dog is friendly but I do not want it around my kids. I am in US and for some reason I thought dogs are not dangerous here until my friends toddler was bitten so severely by the dog that she was airlifted to the hospital and barely survived the incident. So not that I hate dogs but if they need to be pepper sprayed or what ever it takes to protect my child i will do. At the end I do think its owners responsibility to make sure that their dogs on a leash in public areas and be RESPONSIBLE owners.

Then, for months, I found myself freaking out on occasion that I couldn't find my 4th kid. I would put 3 in the car and wonder where the 4th was, eat dinner and expect the 4th to join us, etc. At 9 months post partum, I got pregnant with a girl! Now I'm waiting for a 5th but for some reason 5 years keeps popping into my head... like it will be a long wait.

It's pretty hard having 3 kids from ages 0 to 3 years old., a lot of emotions and we don't feel like the best parents nowadays... hopefully we can grow in that quick so our kids will have the benefits of that as much as possible. Maybe I do someday have a daughter, but for now I'm really happy with my 3 little boys!

    "getting a paper planner", really? When you have a sick child and 4 others to take care of and to homeschool, there is no way you can do it all and keep your sanity all the time. Please keep it realistic. I have "only" 2 children and a part-time job outside of the house, and when 1 child is sick and can´t go to daycare, my whole schedule is disrupted. Either cooking or taking care of the household won´t happen, sometimes both- I of course can´t go to work either if my husband can´t take a day off that day (we take turns). I don´t lose my mind, but it just doesn´t happen, no matter how organised I am. Unless you have hidden help you are not talking about? Or unless homeschooling the US/Canada is not very serious and you can just give your kids a day off? I don´t understand this kind of advice.

    • @kitty19254
      @kitty19254 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The wonderful thing about homeschool is that it is far far more efficient than public schooling (when done well enough) and of course, far more flexible. You can absolutely give your kids the day "off" and it doesn't mean it's "not serious." Usually a day off for many homeschool kids they'll mostly choose to do what they do on a school day anyway, especially reading all the time. I was homeschooled and not very formally and I absolutely flourished in college and my career almost solely because I was curious, loved learning and LOVED reading! Anything I wasn't taught in school I could and did learn quickly and well and enjoyed it! As to your other points that makes total sense, and you've gotta do what works for you! :)

      @@JessicaSmith-ie7cm Hmm sorry, no, I don't get it! If you maybe mean that I needed additional resources or something, no, I was well prepared for college after home school (with many, many days off!). Then got my Master's and found a great job which with I'm really happy. I got to see first hand how much busy work and transition time accounts for the 7-8hr days, 5 days a week when I worked in a few traditional schools after college. So, I didn't understand your response but just wanted to say that homeschool can be "serious" (i.e. successful) and not be structured like traditional schools. It has to be a priority for the family though and it's definitely not for everyone and that's great! Everyone needs to do what works for their own families.

      Rabid dogs are rare, but it’s not uncommon for runners and bikers to be ran at by dogs who leave their yards. Some of these instances unfortunately end in dog attacks. But when a dog is running at you, it’s very hard to know if it intends harm or not. I don’t have any fear of dogs and I own a dog but I do bring pepper spray on my walks/runs for dogs, wild animals, people, etc.

    • @Milonerve
      @Milonerve วันที่ผ่านมา +15

      For people with kids especially it is stressful sometimes when dogs can just run out of a yard or property, and you don't know how well-trained they are. Or sometimes they are very big and enthusiastic and can make your kids fall down or be scared even though they're nice. Dog owners have a responsibility to make sure this doesn't happen, while still allowing the dog some freedom to run around of course (this is kinda why in my opinion people who choose dogs who need to run outside a lot should also make sure they live somewhere where the dog can safely have that freedom)

      I mean, have you ever been out jogging and had somebody's unleashed untrained dog come chasing after you and biting your ankles??? I have. Not a fun time. My brother nearly lost his eye in a completely unprovoked, standing there minding his own business dog situation. In that scenario, I would much rather spray the dog with pepper spray that doesn't cause any permanent damage than kick them and potentially seriously hurt them. And no, not a fan of standing there getting bit and doing nothing, just to prioritize a dog's happiness and well being over my own. Nobody's talking about just walking around spraying dogs... It is a tool to use if a dog randomly attacks you.

      Having been attacked by dogs before, I carry pepper spray. The issue isn't necessarily rabid dogs. The issue is violent aggressive dogs, especially when I am pregnant or out with my toddler. Dog attacks can leave you with severe injuries, and can even be fatal. Pepper spray may given the dog a minor injury for a time. But it's nothing compared to the way they can injure a person, let a long a young child.

    Dogs section - talking, giving advice about hurting them - there are no good people who talk like that. Plus, we already know you do not like animals- remember your old saying - "I do not give diddly squat about animals" when talking about not being vegan...Search it up people. Sarah Therese is not a good person.

      Sounds like you've never been attacked by a doh or witnessed an attack. I will ALWAYS be cautious around dogs after seeing my child be viciously attacked by one while we were simply on a walk.

      @@laurfred2742 no kidding. I've been attacked by a few dogs all of whose owners were standing at the door shouting "he's friendly" and then freaking out when the dog started biting and scratching me. Now I have kids and HELL NO, your dog cannot come near us.
