    Thank you!!! You are the only video on TH-cam I found that showed me what I needed to know with this mower deck… I fight year after year getting the mower deck on and this is the easiest time yet!

    Kohler makes some great engines. I like that
    they put an oil filter on it.

    Thanks for your video. I have a new XT1 LT50 and noticed it apparently doesn’t have a pto safety bracket on it like the LT46 and LT42 do. I looked all over my property because the belt popped off and I thought the bracket came off. Never found it so I started watching videos and researching the cub cadet site. Apparently there isn’t one on the LT50 I guess?! My old LTX1050 had a pto safety bracket. Time wasted. Ugh. But grateful for the confirmation. Not seeing one on your XT1 LT50

      Must not be included on some models. I bought my tractor new and didn't take it off.

    They make oil catch assemblies for placing under the filter so it catches the oil and funnels away from the frame. For my mower I use the same one I have for Harley motorcycles and bought off amazon for about 8 bucks..

    Dude, ALWAYS change your oil/filter after your LAST MOW OF THE SEASON. Do NOT leave it in your shed over the winter with the old, crappy oil in it! Also, the Walmart ST6607 is a CHEAP and HIGH QUALITY oil filter. Happy trails!

      I usually do, but this was the first oil change since I bought it. Wanted to get the break in oil out. I don't shop at Walmart. I'm fine buying the Cub filter.

    I didn't see you pop open the fill dip stick which allows for quicker drain. Maybe u did it prior.

    I took off the pre filter. Is that okay??

      That keeps extra dust out of the air cleaner. I wouldn't run it like that forever.

    Let oil drain out first and it will be less messy when you pull the filter.

    Change your oil every 100 hours.. use SAE 30... You're just wasting your money if you change it sooner.. of course check your oil level periodically

    You need to tighten the nut on that drain.It is loose !!!

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not a nut it's a quick disconnect. It's spring loaded.

    You’re not supposed to grease the gears on the front, nowhere it says in the manual that you should, neither the mower came greased when I bought it brand new

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it's my tractor and I want the steering gear greased. Didn't think I needed Cub Cadet's permission to do that.

      I grease my gears and it's 6 years old and 170 hours, no wear on my gears. It will collect dirt wether greased or not. The only thing I've done to it is replace battery, rebuilt starter and In process of replacing front wheel bushings.
