Fun fact about this movie “coming out after 9/11”: it’s believed the montage for when Spidey is in his actual suit was completely different for the film based on what the reveal trailer had. Needless to say, I think there’s a good reason why that intro montage was cut…
DaFoe kills it as Norman and the Green Goblin, it’s one of the only instances where a live action portrayal of a comic character is my favorite adaptation.
My favorite part about this movie is the fact that you can sometimes see that Goblin’s mouth in the helmet isn’t moving at all with his words since his voice is dubbed over
Fun fact: details like the webbing coming out of Peter were inspired by a scrapped 90s Spider-Man movie that was being directed and written by James Cameron

This includes Peter being a bit of an ass at first with his powers, the wrestling, Peter not being that great with the ladies, and Gobby being impaled by his own glider.
I mean it being a good adaptation doesn't exclude the possibility of bad writing as what they're adapting could just straight up have bad writing.
@@johnman8398 I think it's more just changing attitudes on what good writing means for comics, and less about if it's actually bad. Those stories are still great, and have good writing in them, it's just that it's also seen as sort of hokey nowadays (much like how comics of the last 10-20 years will seem decades from now).
Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland are great Spider-Men, but Tobey Maguire is just the right Peter Parker
And Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin is beyond perfect casting
Tobey Maguire is the definitive version of Spider-Man.
Live-Action yes, but not overall, I’d say Earth-616 is definitive

4:13 *"Why is Ghost Rider coming at us?"*
Because he appears in the next Spiderverse movie.
Fun fact about this movie “coming out after 9/11”: it’s believed the montage for when Spidey is in his actual suit was completely different for the film based on what the reveal trailer had. It showed an armed robbery going on and the criminals escaping in a helicopter, but they were thwarted by Spider-Man and their helicopter was webbed up in between the twin towers (no joke, look it up).
Needless to say, I think there’s a good reason why that intro montage was cut…
Wasn't that scene only meant for the trailer?
DaFoe kills it as Norman and the Green Goblin, it’s one of the only instances where a live action portrayal of a comic character is my favorite adaptation.
18:50 had me dieing. This is vid is also funny because yesterday I just rewatched this movie 😂
21:32
Norman Osborn: "I'm something of a scientist myself."
Also Norman Osborn: *forgets how momentum works and kills himself with his own glider* (And assuming that the sharp prongs are long enough, it probably would've killed him whether Spider-Man dodged the attack or not.)
People constantly point out how the actors/actresses playing the students look 30, but Kirsten Dunst playing MJ was actually 19 at the time of filming.
You know there is actually a Spider-Man story where a bully of Peter's (not Flash Thompson) eats the radioactive spider and then transformed into a big old spider that consumed people.
And some random guy killed him by stepping on him
Fun Fact 😁
There Was A Spider Man With A Gun He Was Japanese And Got His Powers From Aliens
What i find a little funny is with the release of no way home, it kind of makes this movie the real start of the mcu and not iron man.
Always was. Haha. But I mean it’s an alt reality. The main one / mcu still really began with iron man
@@957kakashiyou're forgetting Blade. None of this would be here without Blade. Comic book movies were almost dead and even Batman movies became trash after Clooney was so terrible. He was so bad that he apologized during a major interview for being so bad and will even personally refund you your ticket money out off his own pocket if you tell him you watched his Batman in theaters.
18:55 that escalated quickly
Fun fact: tha wrestling announcer is Bruce Cambell, AKA ASH FUCKING WILLIAMS FROM THE EVIL DEAD. Bruce also comes back for two more cameos in the next two movies too.
12:36 **Japanese Spider-Man has entered the chat**
6:26 The actor who plays is Flash is Deathstroke in Justice League and is married to Sofia Vegara
I’ve come to absolutely adore the corniness in these movies because they show a level of personality and sincerity that are missing in a lot of modern movies.
Them not knowing randy macho man savage was bonesaw Mcgraw was something, also I think Tobeys Spiderman is comic accurate of his nerdy nature
"Then stop pretending to be!" "And just die already." That made me laugh more than it should've. XD
They said the spider biting looked funny, well guess what, the spider was real, it was painted to look like that and trained to bite on command, Sam really wanted it to look real that’s why they did it.
where did you hear this
@@SpillingTheMilkfrom another comment
@@EyeEditzz actually I found this information on the internet, but that other comment just proves my point.
You're too late, Spiderman weed is now legalized.
Curiosity: The actor behind the wrestler spider man beats up is an actual wrestler know as "Macho Man Randy Savage"
the goat
9:17 This reminds me of the time back in 1998 when the Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell through the Spanish announcer table.
Do you think somewhere in the multiverse, there's a Spider-man who didn't realize he was bit by a spider and used his wall crawling abilities to become Gecko Man?
It’s funny, the teacher at the beginning was actually younger than all of them, they chose him only because he was bald. 🤓
14:53 bro is it just me or does that ballon look like the fucking bad guy from despicable me 3
"Nice outfit! Did your Husband make it for you?" 😂

17:14 funfact:in the very begining of production of this movie green Goblin WAS meant to be an actuall Goblin (y'know like a 3d mask to speak) so it could the producer's were planning for such a scene
But a kid saw it and got freaked scared, so they changed it, i think
@@ELbabotas1I think it was actually because it was too complicated to do as they were actually using animatronic parts for the eye brows
I recently rewatched all of these movies with my little siblings, and the entire time I was just like: why can no one in these movies not cheat on their significant other?
I mean....Peter went after mj for the entire trilogy.
It’s honestly more mj who does it 😂

Another fun fact Tobey Maguire said he never read a spider man comic prior but took the role because he liked the script this was before there where any movies so unless you watched a bad 70’s spiderman tv show on saturday mornings it would be a hard role to research without the comics
13:48 Didn't mean to diss Tobey like that 😔💔
Wtf. I can't imagine being so young to not recognize randy Savage.. and not know the whole wrestling backstory is the original canon origin.. they even had it in the 90s spiderman cartoon.
0:21 No joke! This is the best Spider-Man OST in history. It gets me pumped up every single time.
Fun Fact: The teacher was younger than the rest of the actors
Spiderman with a gun, thats literally the cowboy spiderman

Oh my god I remember watching it on twitch, it took the editor so long to finish the video for youtube, now I feel the effort the editor is putting to his videos, *respects*
There's something I miss about 25-40 year olds playing high schoolers. I want a film to have the main characters casting adults and the background characters all played by actual age appropriate people for contrast.
16:02-16:04 you made a blunt version of Spectulalar Spider-man's line
I love the scene between Osborn and Goblin so much.
tobey maguire actually got bit by a spider on the first take of the scene and died and was replaced by his evil clone "Yebot Eriugam" which is why he yells at paparazzi
You guys absolutely have to watch Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home...
