Listen, pal, let me set you straight. Nintendo sucks, and the Mario movie is just another example of that. It's a dumpster fire, plain and simple. But you know what's not a dumpster fire? Disney. Their characters have heart, their stories are unforgettable, and their production value is unparalleled. So while you can keep worshipping at the altar of Nintendo and Mario, I'll be firmly on team Disney, enjoying the real entertainment the industry has to offer.
@@sammyt7981 The Mario movie is total dogshit. And let's not forget that Disney's Frozen made a killing at the box office while this trash movie floundered. I was always skeptical when it comes to critics, but I think it’s astounding how this movie influenced me to almost DESPISE critics. I enjoyed this movie a lot. Yes, the plot line and morals are incredibly one-note, no profound development for the characters, and the licensed music gets bizarre after a while. But this movie wasn’t meant for _everyone._ This was made primarily for kids, and even grown Nintendo fans like me were under the impression that this movie - at least story-wise - wasn’t gonna be anything phenomenal; most fans went into this movie expecting to catch as many Mario references as possible, enjoy the action, and love Jack Black’s portrayal of Bowser. Yet, despite that, it’s still a fun time when you wanna relive what makes Mario Mario (pun to Mario’s full name not intended btw). And it may be because Nintendo probably kept 24/7 surveillance on them, but Illumination really shattered my expectations and put tons of passion into the project, especially with the visuals.
Whenever anyone says that this movie had “no character development”, I REALLY wanna know what the fuck movie they saw because in the movie I saw, Mario himself quite clearly went through a character arc.
@@audittlivereaction1964Because it's a movie? I am not going to criticize the movie over that, I have hopes that that will only apply to this movie while the sequels are more deep, but this is a movie, it kind of needs good character progression and a good plot that isn't generic.

"Two people can't use one star" yet in nearly every 2d mario game with coop touching another player while invincible grants them the effect too
19:32 Two people actually can use one star at once in Super Mario 3D World. One person collects the star, then the second person touches the one with the star and then they both have it.
Jack was simping hard for peach and ngl i was too, idk how illumination animated her so well but damn got me acting like bowser smh
PEACHES, PEACHES, PEACHES, PEACHES, PEACHES, PEACHES!
B*TCHES, B*TCHES, B*TCHES, B*TCHES, B*TCHES, B*TCHES
16:12 uhmmm ACKTUALLY 🤓👆 apples do appear in the Mario franchise. First time was in Yoshi's island 👆🤓
Hate to be that guy but it shows up in Mario world first
6:00 as soon as peach finished saying "stop" my video buffered
"Threw her down the sewer" 🤣🤣🤣
Jack Black needs to be the voice in the games going forward. He is the definitive Bowser now.
14:22 what we all _came_ for
What we all came to
when i watched the film at the cinemas i knew there would be one or two credit scenes
my parents did not wait long enough for the yoshi one
19:47 as an Italian i totally approve this movie
14:00 I was not expecting this game to get referenced 😭 also yeah that actually checks out
19:55
Listen, I'm Italian and I love this movie with all my heart but everytime they said "mamma mia" I just couldn't stop cringing in my seat thinking that I just convinced my parents to see this movie just to have the classic dose of 30 mammamias everytime there's an Italian character.
One time is ok, two times maybe, three times is just annoying idk why.
Nobody that I know even say mamma mia, they just use swears or random catchphrases lmao
Dude it’s mario, it’s his most famous line after "yahoo"
@@TheSnomGuy yeah I'm okay with him but it's the only line even for the other characters 😂😭
10:10 bro that really caught me off guard like why did he start singing?!?!?!😭😭
@@Judyhopps-1iq ok
This movie was a perfect adaptation of the video games
Edit: Mom, I’m famous
Yes there were so many references !
That's true. Regardless of it's quality as an actual movie, the amount of love it showed to Mario was insane
11:52 gonna be honest while take on me is good I think the Mario kart Dk jungle theme would fit amazing here
lets see how long it take for nintendo to strike this video

**Watches the Minecraft Movie Trailer**
This did not age well…
15:43 eerrm akchually it is a referenche to the eel from mario 64 ☝️🤓
15:58 one time i got an ad for the trailer and i was at full volume so all you heard was just "Bowser is coming-" 🤑
The fish in the water was a refrence to that one eel in the water level in mario 64
10:15 I can't stop laughing
7:13 Mario pulling the dreamworks face
hold up… they gave him a blue mushroom- which makes you small. And when you take dmg it goes away, so if bowser just punches himself he should just grow to normal size and break the glass.
ALSO if he just keeps blasting fire in the same spot for like an hour he could just melt it away and leave…
they really got lazy with the ending…
They later keep him in a cage
When me and mom went to see this movie a few days ago, I had to reassure myself and say”I’m am not a furry” like three times, as if it were a god damn affirmation when Dk came in screen.
Thank god we had the place to ourselves
13:30 MY FUCKING SIDES LMAO
1:36 me in the Mario fandom
5:36 I was hoping for a Luigi's Mansion subplot too
In Super Mario Bros 3D World you can get the star by touching someone with the star already 19:17
The ADHD content got me crying 🤣🤣🤣 21:10
It's nice that they used the song from the Captain Lou Mario show. Best part of the film.
Also, when I saw that "Peaches" song on TH-cam, I for some reason thought it was going to be a PUSA cover, and am extremely disappointed that it wasn't.
21:20 that stfu sounded very genuine
4:44.
I love that voice crack
18:19 and this is why Mommy Rosalina is the best
Nope
@@ajb5119 yes😈
Daisy is better
12:14 that's not Cranky Kong, it's Donkey Kong Jr. from the arcade game Donkey Kong Jr. he is Donkey King III aka modern DK's Dad and Cranky Kong's son.
Yeah, blue shell will never re target. I sometimes get close to 2nd place and lose 1st just to get them targeted instead of me, second best case is you get multiple close people hit with the blue shell.
15:37 the eel is a mario 64 reference, they also have them in super mario galaxy but slightly less scary
Eden, two people can use the same star at the same time. It works exactly like that in the games
18:31 I can confirm they havent sent a nuke
Cranky Kong Sanders be like
"You're asking ME for MY financial support?"
Also 13:41 Deviated Septum. You're thinking of a deviated septum.
14:20 Peaches has that peach if you know what I mean lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OK, just because you said that I’m kicking you out
@@sammyt7981 The Mario movie is total dogshit. And let's not forget that Disney's Frozen made a killing at the box office while this trash movie floundered. Disney just knows how to create unforgettable stories and characters that capture the hearts of audiences worldwide. So, keep crying about that failure of a movie, but don't expect me to sympathize with you. Disney's got it covered in the entertainment world.

Personally I really like the movie sure it has a predictable story and isn’t the greatest movie of all time but it’s definitely the best video game adaptation & illumination movie ever plus the animation was a nice mix of realism & cartoony and the cast while at first a bit questionable did a really good job plus the movie is really funny
Overall 9/10 really good movie definitely better then turning red,Lightyear & Strange world that’s for sure
Well it kinda has to be predictable, after all, every game has the same plot
@@Alberto_FacebookGamingBeliever so Mario plus rabbids have the same plot? Does 3D world and Bowser's Fury? I don't feel like naming anymore.
@@imag-nonespaghet9337 defeating bowser except rabbids
Im gonna disagree with the whole best video game adaptation ever. That spot still goes to Detective Pikachu
@@Alberto_FacebookGamingBeliever Mario super star saga and bowser inside story were different
I feel like these 3 would unironicaly laugh at a live leak murder video if you add "goofy ahh" sound effects to it
17:06 bruh no way she turned into Elsa from frozen
@@Rediscool9 also it's a god damn Mario movie I don't know why people expect any complex plot and character progression
@@audittlivereaction1964Because it's a movie? I am not going to criticize the movie over that, I have hopes that that will only apply to this movie while the sequels are more deep, but this is a movie, it kind of needs good character progression and a good plot that isn't generic.
@@StrawberryShartCak3 The movie has good character progression and having a generic plot doesn't make it bad at all, what are you talking about?
@@Rediscool9 Exactly.
