Just thinking about how _Puss in Boots: The Last Wish_ took inspiration from this movie's animation style makes me so happy. DreamWorks executed it well by blending 2D and 3D techniques from _Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,_ but instead of that comic book aesthetic, _Puss in Boots: The Last Wish_ looks like a painting from a book of fairy tales.
And then DreamWorks ruined all that progress and goodwill and display of creativity by choosing to follow in modern Disney's footsteps. I swear to God, each time I think about the fact that they had the BALLS to start making a LIVE-ACTION REMAKE of How To Train Your Dragon, it fills me with so much fucking rage that just...AGHHH 🤬🤬🤬
I think that Spider-Verse finally managed to make some people start to realize that animation is an almost limitless art form that can do so much if you can only think of it. This movie absolutely wouldn't work in live action, and if it did, it wouldn't be half as effective or visually interesting. This is basically art at its purest.
Which this, in turn inspired a lot of other things that are 'pure art', such as Arcane. And at the same time its sad that many people *still* don't take animation as an art form seriously. My dad is one of them. I love him to death however when I try to show him something that I *know* he would really enjoy like Arcane, or the Castlevania series on Netflix.. he always comes back to me and says that he couldn't keep watching the show because of the fact that it was animated. Like, it really boggles my mind that some people can't imagine something having an interesting, and well written mature story simply because of the fact that it's animated. Despite the fact that typically, animation takes *way* more work than just putting some talented actors in front of a camera. It's crazy to me.
Funny thing was that this movie's honestly better than the Miles Morales comics themselves. Miles isn't a Peter Parker clone, Aaron's a caring uncle while being a ruthless criminal instead of being a straight up sociopath, Miles really comes into his own here with his own style, and his dad's actually alive... and a cop instead of a SHIELD agent.
@Derek Milewski I agree. I just wish that we didn't get introduced to Miles through a forced stealth section. Or Mary Jane for that matter. Why do good games gotta have crappy forced stealth sections?
It is very funny how much this movie changed the public opinion on miles, like before he was hated because he was essentially black Peter Parker, but now he’s loved by everyone
@@leftistdegeneratejs this in the video game changed how people liked Miles because before he was literally just black Peter Parker and that’s not even a racist thing that’s how he was made to be one of the people who worked on him said that he was meant to be like that as they were able to retell stories with a with a different perspective, but still being the same, and it wasn’t working out as from what I remember, they were making the same mistake the amazing Spider-Man did with his dad being a shield agent and amazing Spider-Man‘s being CSI or something another secret agents I can’t remember which one and now he has a more grounded story. Fun Fact: Towards the end of the movie when Miles swings up to the top of the Collider Peter B. and Gwen mention not teaching him how to do that Miles actually learned it from seeing his universe's Peter swing up there earlier in the movie.

2:51 Arnold Schwarzenegger scream
Spoiler for across the spiderverse (?)
3:39 no one paid attention to the spider having the dimensional instability in the 1st movie and that became so much more relevant in the 2nd
Bro, I swear I saw si Much details for ATSV and didn't noticed. Like, when Miles spider-sense was green and purple, I thought it bcs of the goblin Whose thematic colors are green and purple. When I saw the spider glitching, I just thought that was ONLY supposed to introduce us to the Spider-Verse before the appearance of Peter B. I also guessed the 42 was probably a reference to the comics with a Spider-Man Miles Morales variant coming from Universe 42 (I think the spider in the comic had the number 42 but I'm not sure)... But I'm pretty sure nobody could've predicted the bagel effect EFFECT on the story 😆
That spider bit Miles into an ad lol
I just got out of the theater from watching Across the Spider-Verse. Such an amazing sequel and I can't wait to see you guys react to it and BTSV
14:22 I literally knew they were about to say that! Like as soon as they seen it was Aaron I knew one of them would say that
