Call me a basic b*tch, but honestly? I 100% agree with the general internet consensus: People on the internet love to say "Tobey was the best Peter and Andrew was straight up the best Spiderman" and I get where they're coming from. Andrew's Peter was great don't get me wrong, Peter Parker had various interpretations during Marvel's eras, they were just two Peters, from two different eras, two different interpretations of the same characters. Its just that Tobey's character arc was like top 5 in superheroes movies (no glazing, ok kinda glazing.), meanwhile, unforunetly, they didn't let Andrew's Spider get his full character arc because they cut his time short. But even so, in the just 2 movies he had, Andrew most definitely portrayed the best Spidey, it was amazing, the way the suit worked and looked (even if at the time people didn't appreciate it because they were still sulking over the pretty much confirmation that there would be no more Ramei's spidey), the style and moviment, the creative ways he saves people and solve problems.
@@Ben_In_Black yea they interviewed Andrew one time and asked about the scene and he said something along the lines of “Peter was late, he was still high off adrenaline and the chase, and he missed his girlfriends speech, what would I have done in that situation to make it up to my girlfriend? Kiss her” and it basically went as such lol
Another case of a spiderman 3 fumble, unfortunately. Tho there is a slim chance it could happen, they'd either have to roll with an older peter cuz andrew is like 40 now or use cgi to do a bit inbetween tasm 2 and no way home, which would up the budget and make it less likely. Film studios also *tend* to take less risks these days, so unfortunately chances of another are low. And people are saying a Tasm 3 with venom would be dope (it would) but since Toby and Tom have had their own sort of unique villain i would really like to see something different like spider island or maybe spidey teaming up with a son or daughter spidey.
9:06 even though the i cherish the Raimi trilogy, i gotta give props to TASM movies for being so 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 lol. this video makes me appreciate Andrew even more now :D
Raimi was good but I think I like Tasm more. An unpopular opinion I have is that the MCU's spiderman series is pretty bad. Good plot but lazy reasoning behind that plot. Far From Home's entire plot was just a lazy and bad excuse for them to bring the og characters and actors back for a cameo. It was pretty thoughtful but really lousy.
I mean why couldn't Strange have made a spell to make everyone in his universe forget spiderman's identity? Would that have been too complex? I'm sorry wasn't he sorcerer supreme or something? didn't the bald girl mage say he was "meant to be the best of them", whatever that means? Oh and you're telling me making them forget spiderman's identity would've been more complex than making everyone except a dozen people forget peter? and ok, we don't know how his magic works, maybe that really is too complex, then why tf didn't peter and strange discuss who needs to remember him, beforehand? If strange is "sorcerer supreme", surely he knows the consequences of his spells and the precautions necessary to not tear a rip in the fabric of reality, he wouldn't just let something like that happen, right? the entire plot is just bs hidden behind the hype of the cameos.

Exactly. True fans know Spidey's darkness. Casual fans think Holland is perfect because his Spider-Man is all teeanger energy and silly jokes, but there's way more to Spider-Man than that
Andrew actually acts like a real spider, because in one scene he made a big web that whenever someone gets on it, they get stuck just like real spiders

Sony actually wanted to release another film, but there were leaks about the film, where they wanted to make it such that Spider-Man would bring Gwen, Uncle Ben and so back to life with magic. Rewatching the movies, I think Marc Webb had a pretty good understanding of who Spider-Man is. I do think he could’ve done Peter’s character a bit better, in the sense of Andrew’s portrayal being closer to Tobey’s Peter. But he still got down Pete’s high intelligence. However, Marc Webb touched on Spider-Man stories that hadn’t ever really been done before. Like focusing on Gwen and Pete’s relationship before MJ. Gwen’s death and how that forever impacted Spider-Man going forward. Pete’s mom and dad secretly being agents. The Gentleman being the one to put together the Sinister Six. The tasm universe had soo much potential, if only tasm 2 did well critically. Another thing Marc Webb had locked down was how insanely acrobatic Andrew’s Spidey was. And then going back to his high intelligence, displaying Spidey’s quick time thinking and improvisation during the Times Square fight when he came up with creative ways to effectively use only one of his web shooters bc Electro fried the other one. We did not deserve Andrew Garfield…
Andrew's Spider-Man is so full of humor and charm, and I think it's what really makes me love his character. It really reminds me of the jokester Spiderman I grew up watching in different animations and comics. Of course, Tom's and Tobey's are amazing too, I just think Andrew's writers/directors and himself made a better job at showcasing that side of Peter.
I don't know why people hate on these movies. They were fine movies, not the greatest sure, but they were fine. And Andrew's performance as Spidey was underrated.
