This was such a helpful tutorial in regards to not taking all the product off just to do a fill. I think many of us get overzealous or feel like we need to remove more than we do. I love acrylic as too! I can do anything with acrylic and I live to teach it. I just don’t want to wear it. I like how gel wears and feels on me better. But I absolutely love acrylic designs and playing with it. I do so wayyyy more gel in salon!

Start practicing gel on a couple friends. Take some classes for sure if possible! You probably will love both gel and acrylic! 🙌🏼✨♥️ Don’t limit yourself if you want to do many things in your field of profession! I love both!!

Melissa used the safety bit, coarse to take down the previous set. A medium grit arbor band to for the cuticles and prepping the nails.

My nail tech definitely doesn’t do lot of this he also use drill full speed an burns me all the time an so many times I have left with gel still sticky on sides because he goops it on so thick an it lifts an peels off all they care about is get you in and out an on to the next an prob why they recently closed. This lady is fast and awesome!

This style is so fun and gorgeous! Can I ask does it take any extra time to do these nails? As in “it takes twice as long as another set so you need to charge for time, or more of a specialty design so higher price in the same amount of time? ( basing on 60 minute full sets) LOVE Melissa!!

My 💅 📝
1. Drill bit-use all zones in a circular motion -5 -10 minutes
Safety carbide bit- coarse- 12 RPM
*can be used to take down nails
2. 150 sanding band-medium 5 RPM
Baby circles around the cuticles
3.Dust, swipe using brush towards me
4. Protein bond x2
5. Base -more adhesion, use slight pressure, cure 30 sec
6.Build w/ concealer pink to fill-structure already there focus around cuticle-flash set 30 seconds
7.color cure 30 sec, second coat, cure 30 sec
8. Base entire nail, add glitter mix over dimension nails- cure 30 seconds
9. Build pink -structure, you don't need as much as full set-flash set
10. Add more if needed, final cure 1 minute
11. File -client profile, put pressure on finger when filing
12. Protein bond whole nail fix any areas with color, cure 15 sec add glitter and press, cure 15 seconds
13. Top coat flash it then add gold foil to dispersion letter use orange wood stick to cut through it
14. Go over with top coat lightly softly so it self levels cure 15 seconds, add a second coat then final cure 1 minute

I’m new to the channel and I’m searching for a good nail tech and I want to know what I should watch out for when I’m getting my nails done and what my nail tech, should and shouldn’t be doing to my nails. I always get long stiletto acrylic nails. I don’t want be that customer that constantly interrupts and points out things lol, but I definitely want to be happy when I walk out of the salon. I tend to find that when I get gel nails, it loses its shape much faster than acrylics. Are there any techniques for keeping the tip nice and sharp? I suppose I am somewhat rougher on my hands at work as well.
Gel is a softer product. It’s light weight on your hands. I wear gel all the time with a stain resistant top coat. My nails don’t wear down unless I’m hitting them with a file while I’m working on my clients. Try wearing our stain Resistant top coat or our Gloss top coat. That may make a difference.

That's great I never thought about using a gel polish under glitter and the hard gel! Was it hard gel base on top of gel colour polish ?

Melissa, are you putting the encapsulate on low heat or regular to stop it from moving and are they getting a heat spike? Oh and do you ever have to have them flip hand upside down to keep it from running and help with arch on self level?
Yes, i’m putting it on low heat to stop the burning. I personally don’t use a technique of holding it upside down to help create that arch. To me it takes too much time. I’d rather go back and just add a little. They are both correct it just depends on what you prefer to do.😉😊💅🏻💖✨

I have a question - How do you deal with under the nails? Can you talk about that? When you do a fill and the nail is grown out, I find when I use a nude ish gel it can blend better but I still have to blend it together with a drill bit to make it blend and seamless.. but what about say if its a darker color and the nail underneath is growing out? Thanks! xo
If I don’t like the way the nails looks when they are grown out, I drill it out.
What is brush are you using? And which brushes do you recommend for gel/polygel?

Hi! I was wondering why she used the build pink instead of just Build clear. Is there a difference in viscosity? Or is it a matter of preference? Xoxox
It's both. Build pink is a little thinner but it's just a preference of what you like to work with(:
I used it for the color. It brings out the colors more that build.
So base offers adherence as well? its also a bond so your essentially double bonding?? Well triple bonding 2x protein bond + base
Yes, base is your foundation for your gel! You need both Protein Bond and Base when doing Synergy Gel!😉😊💅🏻♥️✨
So this is a true fill because her structure was still there so you just needed to add more to the back
Whereas a rebalance is more work because your having to build more
Do you charge differently?
Hi! I charge same. We are making the old look new again. I only charge more if they go over 3 to 4 weeks! That’s when it’s going to cost them more because it’s more work. 😊
Do you’ll use nail tips? If so can you create more videos using nail tips apposed to forms
