Here's Why The Honda CB1100 Should Be Your NEXT Bike!
Today I'm taking the 2014 Honda CB1100 out for another ride and going over 5 reasons why this should be your next motorcycle. Truth be told, I just wanted an excuse to take the bike around the block. However, there is a lot to like about this bike. For one, it's original and unique looking. Secondly, it's relatively inexpensive - you get a lot of bike for the money. It's also super comfortable and a ton of fun to ride! Alright, you'll have to check out the video to see my other reasons. Enjoy!

Smoothest motorcycle I have ever ridden since 1969! I loved the 2013 so much, 6 months later, I bought a 2017 CB1100EX with the twin pipes on both sides and awesome gas tank. Now, I own the 2 smoothest bikes I have ever owned in 50 years of riding!

I used to ride the 1981 CB900F when I was alot younger . Bad ass bike! Two years ago at 58 years young I walked into a dealer and bought a 2013 CB1100 with less than 2k miles. Would have liked the 6th gear, but my 900 didn't have it either. I get alot of comments on the sweet bike. No regrets.

Regarding the weight and feel of the CB1100. You can definitely feel the CB's weight when rolling it around in the garage. But part of what makes the CB1100 feel relatively nimble once you get rolling are the rather skinny tires mounted on those 18" rims. All part of the original design brief for this motorcycle.

Jon, I understand to a degree why some people complain about what you do for fun, as abuse to this incredible cb1100, but if I would have purchased this bike at your age, I would be wanting to know if I could out-wheelie you... I say, if you can do it... Do it... I love how you have so much fun on it, you basically ride it like a dirt track bike, which 550 lbs, is pretty incredible. When you say this bike has it all... You nail it with that comment... I think it could beat the Vulcan 650 that you purchased along with the cb1100... Your thoughts on that, if, and when you have the time... By the way, Beautiful Family, and may God Bless your family with great happiness, and health...

The Indian Motorcycle dealer in lebanon New Jersey has a used 2016, he want 9G+ for the bike, I’ve been drooling over this bike for years when it first came out. I ride vstar 1300 but sold it. I said to myself I’m not paying 9000+ dollars for that, then I had my eye on the scout, but it’s tiny. Sooo I just picked up a new triumph 2020 T120. 12G out the door.

I have a 2014 CB1100 with 26k miles on it. Bought it in 2017 brand new out of crate (zero miles). They had to dig it out of storage and assemble it.
It’s smooth (unless you throw an x-ring chain on there... rides a bit choppy now), the service intervals kinda suck, and my Triumph is only a 675 and it produces SO much more power.
That said, this is the bike I’m keeping. The Speed Triple will become a new Speed Triple. My Gixxer is probably going to turn into a GS1200 at some point as I commute 60 miles a day.

another great vid... i have the18 fat bob which i really love.. working on wheelies to the balance point, right now just small power wheelies... i traded a z 900 (worst bike ive had) in for the fat bob and love the fat bob but i know if i got one of these first i would be done... i like a bike that can do it all (sporty, wheelies, ride double, comfort) and really like the 4 cyl smoothness of the Japanese bikes. that said HD v twins are an amazing and fun motors, best v twins in my opinion for feel!!. the wind buffetting on the fat bob is the only reason i would trade for one of these...

If I had the money, I’d buy two. Bore and stroke one, and daily the other. Sure she’d make a great a race bike, just like everything else from Honda

Not gonna daily the cbr1000, that’s a track only bike. This here though, is the standard

The CB1100 is stilll a contender in the Motorcycle World in my opinion...and they can be had for a Song these days! I certainly enjoy it as a 2nd Ride!

Jon, just wondering... You had a negative response to the Kawasaki Vulcan having chain drive, but, doesn't the Honda 1100 have chain drive too?
Or maybe I'm mistaken. Could you help me understand the difference in the cruiser Vulcan having chain drive vs. the 1100?
Not wanting to criticize you but more needing to educate myself on the difference between 2 chain drive bikes/types.Thanks Jon!
    Keep up your great vids

How would this do for a guy who's 6'6"? Throw some taller bars on it and good to go, or....?

It’s a great bike but it’s down on styling and the mirrors are hideous , yep keep the oil changed and ride as long as you want very dependable

I wasn't to hip on the mirrors ether but now that i have 5k + miles with them I'm going to keep them. They work well.

I am a big fan of the ex version with the chrome spoked wheels and dual exhaust. However, like a lot of bikes out there the cb1100 is a tad to tall for me. I am 5'5"; Anything with a seat height over 30 inches I am likely no longer flat footed. I am sure I could do it but at some point a mistake will be made and it will inevitably get dropped.

th-cam.com/video/zYp1zXyc0fA/w-d-xo.html. I would watch this video. You can definitely ride taller bikes being short. I'm 5'4" and ride a bike that has 30+ inch seat height.
It's all preference but definitely not a huge issue unless you have very little mobility to begin with.

I’ve only been riding for about 3 months. I currently own a 78 Honda CX500. I love the bike but am already planning my next bike for next spring. Is this a good second bike for someone with only a summer’s experience of riding?

would you put a top case on that bike? I own a 2013 650 Versys , with full touring kit. I'm worried about the fact that the CB will look like crap with the luggage.

@@JonsMotoGarage SWEET! I will have to give it a watch. I think if the CB1100 had more videos like this right out of the gate, could have possibly been a little more popularity with the bike. Overall still a great machine in my book!
