This is a new game for the channel so any interaction would be appreciated to appease the algorithm gods. If you ignore the gods, just remember what happened to Hallownest.... What is your chosen ending?
I’m so glad you’re covering this game’s story. Dream No More is my personal favourite ending, although I feel as though it is not the most uncommon opinion, however.
Definitely the tough one. Nice video. I really liked your Doom video. I watch them to go to sleep, and other people I met do too. You should do one on Dark Souls.
Words can not, CAN NOT, describe how much I love this game. I recently got back to playing it after my uncle enabled family sharing for his library of games. When I first played it, I was excited but not very experienced with metroidvania games. I died a lot, missed a couple of things, etc. But now, after nearly 2 years of not being able to play it, I got back, and I'm so happy to play it again. I didn't think this game would get any more popularity until silksong came out, which it hasn't yet. Anyways, this game is a masterpiece. And I love it.
@Skyrionn right. Also, about those 5 endings, I managed to get endings 1, 2, and 5. But I'm not able to get the ending with giving "Godseeker" the delicate flower cause I try to get the game to 100% and more. I believe that was ending 4 in this video. At first, I didn't know that certain side quests had different outcomes. But after watching a few videos on this game, I realized that. Currently, I am trying to get ending 3, where Ghost defeats absolute radiance and becomes the Abyss lord.
Just for info, the community have more or less agree that dream no more is the "more" cannon ending because it's the one that make the most sens and is the best conclution for the story
Omggggggg the way you brought Hallownest to life with the animation was magical! I spent a lot of time during my playthrough aondering what the city looked like when it was bustling in its prime. Gorgeously done! 🙏🏼 thank you!
The way you put everything together here, I am absolutely in awe. Thank you for this video, sir. You have done the HK community a service greater than you imagine. And yes, once Silksong (if at all) comes out, and I finish it, your lore video is the first one I'll be looking forward to.
It was a tough one but it was so worth it. The haven't had a ton of interaction with the HK community, but the few I have met have been absolutely amazing and welcoming. Thank you! We all just wait for Silksong. edit: Love the ori profile picture too!
Man, I clicked on this video expecting to see a mossbag ripoff but I’m presently surprised how they managed to tell the story from a brand new perspective . Great video.
The music of Hollow Knight by Christopher Larkin is sublime, magnificent, as is the lore video by Skyrionn - thank you for your efforts, you did a spectacular job, bravo Skyrionn! Im estatic to see that you covered one of my all time favorite games; I hope we get silksong soon! (But only if its done, as much as I want the game, I dont want another cyberpunk fiasco)
Couldn't agree more! Christopher Larkin nailed the soundtrack. I am so excited to see what he does with Silksong. I also agree - I look forward to Silksong but am happy to wait as long as it is released when it is ready.
I’m only halfway into this video, but it’s SO well put together! Your presentation and the style of narration add such a fresh perspective to the lore and I’m absolutely going to be sending this to my friends next time I need to explain the lore of “that bug game i don’t shut up about”
This video is incredibly well-made. I've watched my fair share of HK lore videos, and I haven't seen any lay out the story in such eloquent detail and order. Well done.
Without ever having played HK, I was so hyped for Silksong that I am now playing HK and wanted to catch up on the whole lore. This video is incredibly well made!!!
Kind of surprising that you are mostly focused on covering lore of VALVe-related games yet you cover Hollow Knight, of all other games really. I love this game to the core.
my god thank you SO MUCH for this truly amazing video! it's hard to put it into words, but I still want to say how grateful I am for your very clear and interesting manner of narrating Hollow Knight. The amount of work put into this video can only be admired! already can't wait to rewatch :) thank you
What timing! I started Hollow Night a couple years ago and made it four hours in before bouncing off of it. Been on a Metroidvania kick lately though, so I started it up again a month ago. I just beat it last night and absolutely loved it. Count me as one of the many many people eagerly awaiting Silksong. Hollow Night is a masterpiece!
That's awesome! I had a similar experience. I got a couple hours into it and gave it up. Came back a year or so later and couldn't put it down! I love that the fanbase is still growing after all of these years
Just finished playing Hollow Knight for a second time and it was wonderful coming here to listen to all the lore in one place. Also loved seeing your animations of Hallownest in it's glory days. On a personal note, I could listen to your voice for...well, nearly two hours it seems 😅. Very soothing.
You're a Great Story Teller! I really like how you tell the "Story" of Hollow Knight" and how it works and let me understands things i havent known cuz i didn't play Hollow Knight yet, just curios and want to know how the story of this games goes. And this video gave me the thing I want to know! Much Appreciated! I liked the video and subscribe to your channel so please keep up the Good Work!
omg, no way. i literally jusst finished this game like 2 weeks ago for the first time. and to have skyrionn explaining the story is like the best that couldve happened (besides silksong being announced ofc). i love the way you explain game's stories!
Thank you for covering this game, I got interested in Hollow Knight when I saw some of my favourite TH-camrs play it around initial release, tried getting into it myself while I had Game Pass, loved the gameplay and story but found it too hard to finish. Now I know the full story and just... WOW!!! I need to get my hands on this game again. Have fun and stay safe Skyrionn, love ya content bro
Thank you for watching it! It is a pretty difficult game to be honest but the main thing is just learning the boss fight patterns. If you notice their cycles, it becomes pretty easy! Thanks again for watching :)
This is so well made! I always was very intrigued by the lore of Hollow Knight and always hoped someone would make a full timeline video. Finally someone has done it! Thank you! Also, the editing in this video is insanely good!
Wow, thank you! That was super kind of you to say. I loved putting this together and recreating a happier Hallownest. I cannot wait to see how Silksong will look!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I don't particularly enjoy action games, but hearing you talk about lore is a treat for my ears. I think I would like you to retell the story of Prey. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the great comment. I'll look into Prey again. It does seem like something I could cover. A mix of SOMA, Talos Principle and Bioshock. Three timelines I've already done :)
thank you for the great video! I didn't really understand the story while playing it and just enjoyed the vibes, but OMG now so many details I've noticed finally make sense! Makes me want to start the game over again, now with the power of the lore at my side :)
Best story recap ive ever seen. I like watching game playthroughs and stories because the journeys are far more intriguing conpared to movies & shows. Thanks!
Thank you for putting in the time to make this video! I really enjoyed listening to the story. It feels very fluid in the way you told it and I appreciate you covering a lot of the little details too. I am no good at playing these sort of games and don't know if I'll ever beat HollowKnight, but now I can still know the whole story and hidden lore. I didn't know there were so many different endings and I think all of them are really interesting.
I'm so glad you clicked on, and watched the video. It loved making it and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm so excited to see where we go next with Silksong.
This is just gorgeous to say the least, I discovered your channel from this video and I’m loving the way you narrate the intricate world of The Hollow Knight. Keep it up, your content made me happy :)
ik it’s an unspoken rule to not recommend other channels in the comments of a youtube video, but id SERIOUSLY recommend watching all the mossbag lore videos if this one piqued your interest
Dude. You're amazing. Ty so much for making this. There's many others doing similar, such as mossbag, but you did it in such a fluid and entertaining way
Thanks for watching this. This was absolutely a passion project and I'm so happy with how it came out. I loved putting this together. This is my normal style of doing a game timeline too. I have several others! DOOM, Half-Life, SOMA, Talos Principle, Bioshock :)
It's funny that you uploaded this video just as I'm starting to get really into Hollow Knight. It's cool to see you branch out from your regular fps centered topics! And great video as always!
I think this is my favorite video as far as how you put together the story in such a linear manner. My first authrough was all over the place, and i still rarely do it in this order, but story-wose it definitely makes sense!
It was a passion project for me. I'd love it to do as well as my other timelines but I'm also fine with it kind of sitting on the channel for other Hollow Knight fans. We all pray for Silksong.
oh wow. I've finished the game like 2 years ago but I didn't realise how much content and endings there were so I replayed it. And for the past 3 days I've been playing non-stop. This explains everything so well.
Uncle (living next to Will Pellen) said: Since they only waited for a serious summmary of their lore by Skyrionn, Siilksong now finally can be released. Mossbags video was nice as well, simply had to much jokes in it. Anyway, Silksong should now basiccally come out tomorrrow, latest on Sunday this week /copium
I love how both the delicate flower and the power of the void are both at one point described as “scattered power” the Godhome bug even mentioned that the pale flower might be part of a higher being but can’t get a read on its presence.
I really need to do another full playthrough of this game. I played it 5-6 years ago, finished it, and then only picked it back up a month ago and started learning to speedrun it. With that said, I'm only actually familiar with the Hollow Knight ending. Thanks for the video!
Maaaan thank you for the great vid! I'm starving for Hollow Knight news so hard, I'd click on a vid "all fart noises in HK" But here's a great vid, nice pacing, happy reminder of the story of this weird lovable universe to celebrate the end of the day ^^
I already know quite literally all of this, but just have to see your cover of the lore. Hollow Knight is my favourite game of all time and this is a gift. Thank you Skyrionn :D P.S. 7:53 made me chuckle 😅
Thanks for clicking on the video :) It was a tough one to put together with a lot of space for interpretation. From the comments, it seems we all kinda agree with how things went down!
@@Skyrionn yeah, the story as you gave it is what the community agrees with. Very good summarization of the game's lore that we uncovered thus far. I really liked how you handled the parts in the game where your choice matters, like the multiple endings
There is a small discrepancy in this telling of Hollow Knight's story that sort of doesn't make sense. Which is the knights encounter with Lurien the Watcher before acquiring the monarch wings. Though it is still technically possible to make it to the top of the tower without them, it usually doesn't happen - meaning an encounter with the Broken Vessel usually happens first. Also, I feel it could make sense that the Pale King might have died and reincarnated in some way, or maybe he simply accepted his death and hoped that the Radiance would one day be sealed forever. The higher beings still exist out there in some way, like Unn and the White Lady, it just seems that in this story the conflict between the Pale King and the Radiance was centre-stage.
Managed to find your videos a year ago and I really liked the Half Life and Portal lore videos so I just binged through all of them and then started watching your vids on other games, so damn happy you covered Hollow Knight because this game's lore is pretty good
That was incedable! I LOVE Hollow Knight and it's lore and hearing it put together like this is so enjoyable. Amazing work, thank you so so much for all you time and effort to bing us this! My fav endings have always been Dream no More and the Delicate Flower ending. They seem to be the most complete endings for me. Though the Siblings ending is easily the saddest. First time finding the channel, though I would like to recommend videos/topics on Vigil, Salt and Sactuary or Eternal Darkness? Looking forward to future works and I definitely have to go watch your vid on Portal!
VoidedFilms. Love the name! Thanks for watching the video! Delicate Flower adds so much more mystery to the world. I'd like to think that maybe Void has something to do with Silksong's story. I'll look into those. I'm always looking for new stories to explore. The Portal and Half-Life combined timeline will give you a ton of information.
So fun fact. The infection of the crossroads will also trigger if you don't wake the dreamers but pick up the Monarch wings! I discovered this by doing a playthrough where I saved the dreamers for last to delay the infection.
this is so relatable in a way that both pains me and makes me smile. i know i’ve spent WAY more time on my first play through than almost everyone else, and it kind of hurt, but at the same time im getting so much out of it.
@@joaquinestrada7690There are several potential reasons I can think of off the top of my head. They might not know where to go and don't want to look up a guide, or could just not have reflexes as good as you, or could just want to explore. Or they could just have a skill issue, but I'm still on Soul Tyrant after 16 hours so I shouldn't be talking...
My girlfriend never played any videgame in her life before. She had so much things to learn, from grabbing the controller to literally that u press more it jumps more or press less and less... In her first playthrough she made a gap of a month because dhe couldn't pass the mantis, and when she came back I passed it for her... After that she got in love, I've never seen someone so dedicated to a videogame, she made the 100% with around 120h and now in her first world she has 156, she id already going for her third pantheon
About Unn, Godseeker implies her fading is due to losing land, devotion and dream so her fading probably started when the White Lady claimed ownership over the caverns that became Queen's Gardens, and leater worsened with the building of roads and the infection breakout
Thanks for this video! Im not sure why but i just skipped through most of the dialog maybe i just didnt want to read, but listening to this i absolutely loved this story
100+ mins eh? Time to get myself comfortable :) edit: Great vid, really. I personally love the ending no. 3 (with Hornet helping and hollow knight disappearing along with the egg while she Survives - makes the most sense for me when looking up to the upcoming game)
Elderbug says that the Kingsroad was rarely filled with people even in its glory days but there are many other entrances into Hallownest it’s just that many were sealed long ago
Any hollow knight fans i need help with this. Recently ive been wondering why the broken vessel had monarch wings considering that this was presumably the pale kings. Then i began to wonder about how the PK died and it apperes to be some sort of murder due to the broken kingsmold. Would it be possible that the broken vessel killed the PK and stole his monarch wings. Could the vessel have done this out of anger of being discarded before he was broken, and afterwards the radiance exploited this anger to cause his shell to burst open with infection and cause that area in the ancient basin. I would like to know if this would be a plausible explanation.
I really appreciate how you used "sapience" instead of "sentience" to describe the intelligence of the bugs. Science fiction writers misuse the later for the former all the time. 🧐
Fun fact for you: if you actually go to fight hornet in kingdoms edge before killing Herrah, then defeat her then grab the kings seal then go to the ancient basin open the big door go down and find...something...then go back up hornet will appear after that THEN go kill Herrah finally after you leave Herrah's dream you can find Hornet sitting there and you can talk to her!
Before this video, I had no interest in Hollow Knight. Now I feel like I'm sitting in a class with an engaging professor. The presenter truly makes all the difference.
This is a new game for the channel so any interaction would be appreciated to appease the algorithm gods. If you ignore the gods, just remember what happened to Hallownest....
What is your chosen ending?
I’m so glad you’re covering this game’s story. Dream No More is my personal favourite ending, although I feel as though it is not the most uncommon opinion, however.
i'll watch this later when i beat the game, but it's really cool you're going off into other game lore!!!
Definitely the tough one. Nice video. I really liked your Doom video. I watch them to go to sleep, and other people I met do too. You should do one on Dark Souls.
An insectoid Ozymandias tale into itself.
Mine? Mmm... Gotta Be The 20th. I'll Explian Later
I have been loving Hollow Knight's lore for years, and see my favourite lore teller youtuber make a video of it is like a gift
That's kind of you to say. It's an amazing story!

I think I agree that Dream No More is probably the most canon option. I do love Embrace The Void too.
@morgannull4685pretty sure hornet lived
This is NOT what I was expecting from this channel, but oh my goodness I am so happy it happened!
It's an incredible story. I try to venture from HL from time to time haha
Omggggggg the way you brought Hallownest to life with the animation was magical! I spent a lot of time during my playthrough aondering what the city looked like when it was bustling in its prime. Gorgeously done! 🙏🏼 thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! It took a lot of work but it seemed to come out well!
It's great to see you talk about the lore of other games instead of just Valve games.
There are so many amazing stories out there. I do love Valve's stories but it is nice to explore other worlds too
Did not expect mister mushroom to seriously be built into this lore video lmaoo
I want your pfp
Why not? He's the most important character, you know.
The way you put everything together here, I am absolutely in awe. Thank you for this video, sir. You have done the HK community a service greater than you imagine.

Man, I clicked on this video expecting to see a mossbag ripoff but I’m presently surprised how they managed to tell the story from a brand new perspective . Great video.
That's high praise. Thank you! Mossbag is a king. I worried there wouldn't be space for another timeline of the story but it seems there is.
The only thing that gets me out of bed everyday is the hope that Silk Song has finally released. I LOVE Hollow Knight
We pray to the Radiance that one day it will arrive
The music of Hollow Knight by Christopher Larkin is sublime, magnificent, as is the lore video by Skyrionn - thank you for your efforts, you did a spectacular job, bravo Skyrionn!

Thanks for watching!
Kind of surprising that you are mostly focused on covering lore of VALVe-related games yet you cover Hollow Knight, of all other games really. I love this game to the core.
Hollow Knight is just one of those games I fell in love with. It was also a nice break to work on something different from HL haha
Thanks so much for this extensive summary! Very enlightning. It's hard to remember they're just bugs. The lore is so deep and beautiful.
Finally, someone other than mossbag explaining the lore!
I mean, there was ccmaci and a couple others, but I agree!
**Ccmaci smiles at floor sadly**
Holy shit, this video is way too good. The transitions, the animations and the narrative. Great job Skyrionn
It was a lot of work to put together but it was so worth it. I loved this story and was happy to make a visual timeline of it! Thanks for watching it.

I am happy to be second to the release of Silksong. Thanks for watching!
I'm about halfway through, and loving this - The effort that was put into the visuals, the modded scenes it's unbelievably good.
Thank you for covering this game, I got interested in Hollow Knight when I saw some of my favourite TH-camrs play it around initial release, tried getting into it myself while I had Game Pass, loved the gameplay and story but found it too hard to finish. thank you for the great video! I didn't really understand the story while playing it and just enjoyed the vibes, but OMG now so many details I've noticed finally make sense! Makes me want to start the game over again, now with the power of the lore at my side :)
Yes! I love hollow knight lore, it's so deep, tragic and subtle. Excited to see you branching into new games!
That's the perfect way to explain the game. Deep, tragic and subtle.
There's more to come!
Best story recap ive ever seen. I like watching game playthroughs and stories because the journeys are far more intriguing conpared to movies & shows. Thanks!
That's a great compliment. I agree too. Some of my favourite stories are from games.
Thanks for watching!

Oh and jellyfish I love them
We just wait for Silksong now!

Glad you enjoyed it! Stick around :)
I already know quite literally all of this, but just have to see your cover of the lore. Hollow Knight is my favourite game of all time and this is a gift. Thank you Skyrionn :D
Great video! Definitely looking forward to watching others by you.
19:00 when the music fades in. Beautiful. 😌
I recently just completed my first playthrough of hollow knight and it's a very nice surprise to see you upload this video!
Hope you're enjoying the video! We all just wait for Silksong
Wow did not expect this. In fact I was just getting back into Hollow Knight again since a week back. What a coincidence!
Perfect timing!
I like your videos man, something about them just pops. I kinda wonder what other game lores you will talk about later down the line
Got to say I do enjoy your lore subjects you choose. Thanks for the hard work.
Glad you like them!
Managed to find your videos a year ago and I really liked the Half Life and Portal lore videos so I just binged through all of them and then started watching your vids on other games, so damn happy you covered Hollow Knight because this game's lore is pretty good
Thanks for the support and watching the videos! I appreciate you. I'm always on the hunt for new stories to explore!
WHEN ALL IS MELTED IN SILK, ALL WILL BE SONG
Impressive. Thank you so much for this video. Honestly, I finished the game and didn't understand the plot at all until saw your explanation.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
I feel like we played different games because all of this lore makes sense but I seem to have missed 90% of it. Thanks for this!
It's all in those pesky lore tablets, environmental storytelling ect... its stuff you have to look out for :)
So fun fact. The infection of the crossroads will also trigger if you don't wake the dreamers but pick up the Monarch wings! I discovered this by doing a playthrough where I saved the dreamers for last to delay the infection.
One of my new favorite games. Very frustrating at times, but super rich and rewarding as well!
My jaw dropped when I saw this notif lol, love Hollow Knight so much :D
4:54 PIERCE THE VEIL MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Short time in Hollownest? 80 hours...
this is so relatable in a way that both pains me and makes me smile. i know i’ve spent WAY more time on my first play through than almost everyone else, and it kind of hurt, but at the same time im getting so much out of it.
How the hell you have 80 hours? I almost finished everything in 23 😂
@@joaquinestrada7690There are several potential reasons I can think of off the top of my head.
About Unn, Godseeker implies her fading is due to losing land, devotion and dream
so her fading probably started when the White Lady claimed ownership over the caverns that became Queen's Gardens, and leater worsened with the building of roads and the infection breakout
Glad that you are doing hollow knight, it's awesome!
When I replayed it around Christmas, I knew I had to cover it.
A beautiful video. I really like this lore-format. 👍
Always nice to see Skyrionn. You always made me love the fable games and I'm really excited to play Hollow knight
It's so good!
Dark souls and halo have so much lore to go over. I’m sure halo would be very popular with your audience
I've been asked so many times to do Halo. Maybe...
Thanks for this video! Im not sure why but i just skipped through most of the dialog maybe i just didnt want to read, but listening to this i absolutely loved this story
100+ mins eh? Time to get myself comfortable :)
edit: Great vid, really. I personally love the ending no. 3 (with Hornet helping and hollow knight disappearing along with the egg while she Survives - makes the most sense for me when looking up to the upcoming game)
Glad you enjoyed it! I do love that ending too. Each one is great in its own way!
That one does also work perfectly for Silksong.
Elderbug says that the Kingsroad was rarely filled with people even in its glory days but there are many other entrances into Hallownest it’s just that many were sealed long ago
Great video
Hollow Knight sounds like a really fun game. One of these days I'll get around to it!
Absolutely bump it up your game list a few places. It's one of those games that'll stay with you.
would love to see you make dragon age or elder scrolls or star wars lore you're too good narrator to listen
I did explore Dragon Age a little because I love the series but the algo didn't seem to like me doing them sadly! I may try again one day
Superb video, fantastic. Thank you
Any hollow knight fans i need help with this.
Oh to experience Hollow Knight for the first time again
I really appreciate how you used "sapience" instead of "sentience" to describe the intelligence of the bugs. Science fiction writers misuse the later for the former all the time. 🧐
is there a difference?
@@garfs_lawyer Yes. Look it up.
We need a game on the ancient bugs . The artwork for them is great
This with an episode on Ori will be like a fine meal with a decadent dessert at the end. ❤
I may have to replay it.
This is incredible, thank you!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
I'm a simple man. I see Hollow Knight lore, I click.
Also this channel is fantastic at lore so I may have clicked faster than normal 👀
Thanks for the kind comment! I'm always on the hunt for new stories to tell. Hollow Knight is so special.
A fundamental story. Feels like I’ve just watched “Hollow knight documentary”.
A good example of a Grim Dark setting.
Can’t wait to see which networking hardware is used for the analogies!
I've never played Hollow Knight but always liked the art style
The art style is amazing!
my god hollow knight is my fav, a real masterpiece
Was not expecting this - enjoyed ur Doom tho so I might as well binge this while I walk
It's another incredible story
I feel like i should have paid to experience this video. Very nice video sir.
So nice of you you to say. Thank you for watching it :D
