    This is why some people think Ronaldo and Messi are about the same, they see stats of goals and they think that's all there is to it. They don't see the playmaking, that pass before the assist that broke the whole defense, the run after run that leads to wearing down defenders like jabs do to boxers before the knockout punch. Thanks for the great video!

Making the game flow. Making the game tick. Making the game stop when needed. Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo are some players who are just unbelievable at it.

Because once Messi touch the ball, he create the best possible condition for his teammates and they know exactly what to do with the ball because they too are very technical and intelligent players. But Messi's level is a bit higher up. It's like Messi alone is 50% playmaker and his teammates make up the other 50% and all together the team is 100%. Before this guy there was Ronaldo and Ronaldinho and Totti, Henry, Del Piero etc. Whom, when you watch a match they are in you can see they were different. They had those trademark moves, flashy skills and all.
    Then this guy appeared, in his second year as professional he played against all those giants, and was flying through wings, breaking ankles, making people fall on their butts. He was incredible, was playing super physical, his technique was also good but the speed and those turns were unbelievable. He played like that for 2-3 years.
    After that he changed the way he played. He started doing everything in right tone, never pushing the limits while improving his intelligence greatly. Then he became the perfect footballer.
    All the things he did can be done by any second division footballer separately. His passes are simple; not like those beckham, totti, scholes, xabi alonso passes that go through 9 people from 80 meters while curving beautifullly then suddenly stopping in front of receiver; even in long distances they are safe passes with a litttle curve and mostly not very high up in the air. He shoots when it is safe to shoot and they are not beckham, fido, del piero shoots like super accurate or van persie, rooney, scholes, zidane shoots from incredible angles; no they are just safe shoots that are mostly accurate. His 1 on 1 moves (sometimes 1 on 7 :) is his strongest individual quality but even they are also simple when you think them separately, he is not using super speed or incredible skill moves like ronaldo and ronaldinho. He pulls the ball right and left. How he does them is not something that can be expressed through words.
    He played safe. He had ferrari engine and drove it like fiat (as zlatan stated in his frustration with guardiola). He didn't get injured for a long time, he played well above everyone else consistently for so much of a long time that i do not believe anyone ever in history performed his/her profession better and consistently ever.

      Ronaldo was also always a true forward winger, and a wide midfielder before that.
      Messi on paper has been a forward winger for the large majority of his career but he's never been bound to that position. He pretty much roams around, so it's easier for him to link up play w his teammates since there's passing option always all around him.
      Not too many options when you're a winger. You either beat your defender and cross the ball in to the box, link up with the full back, or play the ball into the midfield...

    Imagine being so good as a playmaker that you are donning the no. 10 jersey in a side which has Iniesta and Xavi. And scoring 91 goals in a year!!!! And yet these dummies compare a goal poacher to a playmaker, a creator and an astonishingly good goal scorer.

    • @TheRealDarth_Vader
      @TheRealDarth_Vader 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cr7 focused on goals because he to change his playstyle due to tendonitis. Before then he dribbled and made passes more frequently.
      Cristiano Ronaldo created 308 open play chances between August 2009-2014, only Lionel Messi (312) created more. “Cristiano Ronaldo is not a playmaker”.
      Since the 10/11 till now
      Cr7 is a winger you dont his assist tally as a winger without having playmaking you could clearly Google this but you prefer to lie and spread a false narrative to tear down another player.
      Messi is better but you dont need to lie about to prove this
      You know this now so lets see are you gonna still keep spewing the same bs about Ronaldo even though the facts say otherwise just to elevate Messi who doesnt need the elevation because he is the player.
      In fact its disrespectful to Messi in this debate because Messi at one point took on cr7 at his fullest force and still won cr7 is a monster of a player that Messi himself even acknowledges which makes him being better all the more impressive. Because him beating that consistently for so many years makes it clearly just how frighteningly great Messi is.
      Messi fans that say cr7 doesnt playmake have no right to say cr7 fans dont know this and that about Messi because they clearly dont know this and that about cr7 and are complacent heck even prideful in spewing false narrative about cr7's abilities.
      If they dont know ball because they dont recognize things about Messi you dont know ball if you dont recognize things about cr7. Simple as that apply that logic across the board. Or stop spewing BS

      @@TheRealDarth_Vader What's the source for your open play chances created stat? I'd like to look at that. Now despite playing well over a 1000 games for club and country, more than any other player in history, Cristiano is still only 5th in the assists leaderboard. Lol.

    • @jenni431
      @jenni431 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@TheRealDarth_Vader Why do you think Messi won the Golden Ball twice at the WCs? For scoring most goals? For most assists? Nope. He gets it for scoring goals while also marshalling the midfield and assisting. He controls the game. Does Cristiano ever control a game like Messi does? Give me an example of 1 match where Cristiano was man of the match without scoring. One match.

    • @TheRealDarth_Vader

      @@jenni431 exactly so he does more than just goalscoring by that every nature seeking as he played left wing for most of his career everyone that's watched cr7 before 2014 will tell you he is more than just a goalscorer. Poacher thing is just a lie

    • @TheRealDarth_Vader
      @TheRealDarth_Vader 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jenni431 That's because they are two different players cr7 is not there to control the game he is not a midfielder he is a LW and striker.
      R9 got the golden ball without being a player that controls the game. Why because there are different styles of football and how well each player plays in based on the individual not the playstyle.
      Messi is better and he does what he does unbelievably that's why he is recognized and reconvening all the things he receives. We cant just boil things down to he is a playmaker or else all playmakers would be among the best players in every WC tournement but that's not true you have other positions that get recognized there as well such Romario, R9, The Kaiser and Gerd Muller, Pele got 1 Golden ball if I'm not mistaken but he was clearly the best player from that Brazil generation. Brazil never won without him during his time.
      That's the point I'm trying to make.
      Playmaking:
      th-cam.com/video/oBs0w1eLwkE/w-d-xo.html
      like a midfielder th-cam.com/video/oaib2WZEcWg/w-d-xo.html
      like a winger th-cam.com/video/ip28KosepSU/w-d-xo.html
      flair passes th-cam.com/video/9tPWfntMEVY/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/aDc-o4ML2NM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=41Rrr7txYcZjslbb
      this video shows more of his crosses
      You dont make 120 passes like this and not excel at passing obviously cr7 did way more passes.
      You can clearly see he has passing skills so to call him just a poacher is you blatantly lying. If you wouldn't accept people lying about Messi why should others accept you lying about other players??????
      when Cr7 was at Real Madrid they scored a 100 goals each season in La Liga. the highest scoring season is 2011/12 when they scored 121 goals the lowest team scoring season was 2017/18 when they scored 94 after he left Madrid couldn't even score 90 goals in a la Liga season
      Theres more than one way to impact a team.
      Portugal at the World CupThe 2022 World Cup was Portugal's 8th appearance at the World Cup, adding to appearances in 1966, 1986, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.
      More constiently making the WC since cr7 appeared is not a coincidence. Portugal winning ther first two major trophies with cr7 among their ranks is not a coincidence
      Ofcourse he never did it on his own it's a team sport this was evident when Messi wanted to leave Barca, when Messi was at PSG, when Cr7 was at Juve but big players have an impact hence it took Barca a while to win La Liga again and Real Madrid took 4 years to win a champions league again. Even Maradona didnt do it alone in 1986. Not even Messi in 2022.
      However my point stands there are different playstyles that impact the team differently and cr7 is not just a poacher. I'm tired of people spreading that lie and I'm tired of people expecting him to control the midfield or play football like his in Barcelona anyone who watches tactics videos knows thats clearly not plausible especially when you also know there are different types of players and different positions for a reason. And there are also different footballing philosophies. If cr7 tried to control the midfield in a counter attacking system that would ruin the quick transitions so that doesnt make any sense it's better for him to be upfront and either deliver the pass or score him doing triangle passes in the midfield or tiki taka is not plausible. Even in Barca Messi has a free role going anywhere he wants to deliver quick 1-2 passes with players that have been been playing that way since they were 13 years old La Masia literally breeds players to do that why would cr7 make Man U or Real Madrid play like La masia graduates when the football philosphy says otherwise that would heavily disrupt the team this is a glaring weakness in your criticism of cr7 besides the blatant lying.
