  • Spoiler Alert - I under packed!
I'm so accustomed to packing for the Caribbean, and, because we flew, we had weight limits on our luggage. Overall though I was comfortable, and we lucked out with great weather in Alaska.

We just returned from our 1st Alaskan cruise. August 26 thru Sept 2- 2023. We packed so much winter clothes and didn't need any of it except for 1 day. While at Glacier Bay it did get cold and rainy, but it wasn't too bad. Every other day was beautiful, so we both only wore a flannel button-up shirt over a t shirt. We did the Royal Princess Plus cruise package.

That sounds lovely! Alaska is a bit like a box of chocolates - not ever sure what weather you are going to get! Layering is the safest and easiest to pack too. I was surprised at casual dress on our Alaska cruise because on HAL folks often dress nicer. But people packed for warmth and being out of doors.

@cruiserella2899 I loved that about Princess. The casual dress. At dinner at Crown Grill, I did my best to dress nice but not formal since I was not comfortable with formal things, but when we went to dinner, so many people were under dressed than I expected. But it felt good to know that dressy casual was acceptable. I relaxed and enjoyed myself so much more!

Yes! Wish I had brought more of that bottom layer for sure. We had awfully good weather.

People need to let us know when they went to Alaska, and what the weather was while they were there.

We just returned from an Alaskan cruise, and the weather was sunny and beautiful. Only the day we went to Glacier Bay was it rainy, so we put on warmer clothes. Other than that, a t- shirt and a flannel button down shirt over it were all we needed. We went from Aug 26 thru Sept 2 -2023.

What month did you go to Alaska?

August. after living in Alaska for 15 years, I would suggest July or August for most visitors.
