They usually play this song during the holidays. I was in the USAF 22 years and was unable to go home for many Christmases. This song always made me feel a little sad when I heard it, but it is one of my favorite Kenny Loggins songs.
This is my favorite from Kenny. Along with this one "Whenever I call you friend", "Celebrate me home", "This is it", and "Angry Eyes", you could strand me on a desert island with those, and I'd be ok with that.
An interviewer told loggins that he (the interviewer) considered kenny loggins "happy music". Loggins was surprised, but realized it was true. Yup - happy music
Celebrate Me Home is another good one, as well as This Is It…. And of course one I’ve mentioned before, his duet with Stevie Nicks-Whenever I Call You Friend…. Kenny has been a staple in my home all of my life… I love Kenny!

An absolute Yacht Rock classic. One of the highest-ranked yacht songs on the official Yachtski scale. Co-written by Michael McDonald and David Foster. Richard Page (of Pages and Mister Mister) on background vocals. other personnel include studio legends Paulinho da Costa, Lenny Castro, and Marty Paich (father of Toto's David Paich)
Great song. Michael McDonald is on vocals also. Need to react to "Don't Fight It" with Loggins and Steve Perry from Journey and "Whenever I Call You Friend" with Loggins and Stevie Nicks.
If you sensed a bit of the "Doobie Brothers" flavor in this song, it's due to Michael McDonald's one-of-a-kind backing vocals and I believe he's on the keyboard as well. Kenny was a big part of the 80s soundtrack.
You will love This Is It. Similarish vibe to this one and he wrote it to his father when he visited him in the hospital and his father was feeling really discouraged. Rockin and meaningful! 😊❤
Always loved this song. A definite change of pace for Kenny. I hope you will do "Whenever I Call You Friend", a duet he did with the legendary Stevie Nicks... or another duet, "Don't Fight It", which he did with the equally legendary Steve Perry! I expect you'll do "Footloose" when you get around to the movie. 😁 Other of Kenny's best include "Vox Humana", "Welcome to Heartlight", "Forever", and "Meet Me Half Way". (And Jay, you were half right... he did do "Danger Zone" from Top Gun, the other one, "I'm Alright" was from Caddyshack.) Fun fact - this song was written by Kenny along with Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers) and multi-Grammy winning compoter David Foster. McDonald also plays piano and does backing vocals.
Kenny sang “Celebrate me Home” at Star Lake in Pittsburgh back in the early 90’s. It lasted for at least 15 minutes. That’s when I fell in love with his voice. I wish you guys were around back then to hear the real music. No auto-tune, no studio sound effects- just talent.

Footloose Danger Zone Nobody's Fool This is It... with Michael McDonald Such a great song with Kenny and Michael McDonald. About an unraveling of a relationship. Who else but Michael to add even more emotion to a song along with Kenny. Add a little sax, perfect song. Glad you loved it. 😍 Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦

This is one of my TOP favourite Kenny songs - and I'm SO glad you found it. Two other really fun movie songs of his are Playing With the Boys (Top Gun volleyball scene) and Nobody's Fool (Caddyshack 2). Also Whenever I Call You Friend (duet with Stevie Nicks) and Meet Me Halfway (BEST ballad) are a MUST listen.

One of things I love about Kenny Loggins is that he has so much variety to his music. From song to song you don't know what you'll get. But it's all good. I still wish you'd watch "Conviction of the Heart" the live version from Grand Canyon.
I was introduced to Loggins and Messina in 1971 and have followed them as one of my favorite bands. On College, I volunteered with the concert committee and we had them in Houston at U of H for a concert. I was part of the group that met them when they arrived from the airport. Kenny had slipped in Kansas City and broken his arm the night before. He played the concert in a cast and without seeing it, no one would ever have known.
