dude same. I just moved into a new place and am currently painting a house for the 4th time in the last year. It's nice when you can have some beers and do it at your own pace.
@@collinmc90 Exactly! When people help they want to rush through it to get it done -- which is clearly the nice thing to do for your normal friends. However I like getting lost in the details. Because I'm not normal. I'm sorry you've had to do it FOUR times though.
As a Irish man who walks through st Stephens green everyday this episode broke my heart a little because i may have passed joe pera and not realised one day and I’ll never know :( - phibsborough ,Dublin 7
don't be sad! that just means you've been closer to him than you ever would have imagined. it's a tiny world and we're all closer to each other than we think.
BRUH that Daniel Simonsen mofo with the love advice... low key one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. He so sincerely and wholesomely gives the love advice of "be emotionally unavailable and only care about Instagram likes and money". He says it so earnestly though... ah man I'm dead this podcast is art.
I saw Daniel performing standup in NYC a few years ago and he was one of the most memorable comedians I've ever seen. his cameo with Joe doesn't surprise me
With the podcast covering traveling alone, springtime, and love, I want to share the time I went to Paris several years ago to try to get in a relationship with someone. It didn't work out and I ended up stranded in Paris alone. Granted, there are far worse places than Paris to be stranded in, and it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I happened to visit the Arc de Triomphe on the 70th anniversary of VE Day, and got to witness a special military ceremony which included veterans of the French army who served in WW2. Other cool stuff happened and I'm forever grateful I never entered anything serious with that person.
I really wished there was more of Joe Pera Talks You To Sleep and then I discovered this beautiful podcast. Honestly Ive never experienced something so peaceful to listen. Thank you.
PLEASE I NEED YOU TO FIND JOE'S HAT. IT KEEPS ME FROM SLEEPING ON THIS EPI- wait you're sleeping..... goodnight (find joe hat, find joe hat, find joe hat)
Hey, just wanted to say how much this podcast and your other stuff, like the tv show, have helped me with calming myself lately. Its been tough but you made it a lot more bearable. Thank you
This was a wonderful revelation. I visited Ireland in 2000 and I did see St. Stephen's Green and the Cliffs of Moher. It was so nice to see them both again through your visit. And- I am a dedicated language learner. I spend a minimum of 2 hours every day studying a few languages, and it makes my life so much richer for it. I don't think a more perfect episode could have been crafted - and it was by my favorite comedian. Thanks Joe.
It worked! I drifted off during your Norwegian friend's love advice. Decades of insomnia, thwarted. Over five consecutive hours of sleep. [Hugs] So I just listened again and made it through the entire thing. Instagram likes and money, OMG DEAD. Also listening to the Gaelic near the end was so beautiful. Thank you.
Is anyone else worried to move onto a new Joe Pera when you are using the others to sleep and know how long it took to fall asleep based on how far along you made it and now your world is turned upside down? Me too. But I really am looking forward to this one. 💙
Hey Joe. I took a nap listening to episodes 1-3, and while I may not have any trouble falling asleep as it is, your voice and stories about soup, video games, and clocks made it that much more relaxing and enjoyable. Go Buffalo 😊
I went over for 2 weeks in ~ '04 and it was amazing. I am going over again in September - this time for a month. Really looking forward to it. Put it off for far too long. This was perfect to listen to right now as I count down the days.
Thank you for making these please please keep making them. Just interacting and engaging to hopefully contribute to the longevity of this project. It’s a blessing
Contact John DiMaggio for an episode. The voice of Jake the Dog, Bender from Futurama. He is a very kind and special kind of soul. I think the audience would go nuts for him
Thanks Joe. Inspiring, calming, entertaining, handsome and windswept. I hope you get to travel lots of interesting places and I wish for you the best of rest.
The comedy just got absolutely sapped from the whole recording as Mr. Hughes spoke-and I don't at all mean that as a pejorative. The union of Joe's absurdism and his respect for his milieu encapsulated perfectly across what can only be described as a swelling climax. Utter joy, Joe. This is brilliance.
Joe I love you so much! You have helped me so much with sleep and just life overall. I think you might have an eq enabled that is making all your constants (especially in the low range) come out more. There is a solid chance I’m wrong but for some reason I detect that change as an avid talk Joe to sleep fan. Even if your next video is a new music video for your deathcore side project, I’ll always be your fan ❤
I went to the Cliffs of Moher, But my bus driver was Irish. It was his first charter up in a year, as his last group had a tourist fling themselves off the cliff. (They didn't hit the water) 😬🥺 Well thanks and good night!❤
"She's very hard working and even played Princess Bride for on our way back to Dublin." Lmaoo the subtle shade. Ive listened to this video, probably, 50 times and that part always gets me.
I was being lulled off to dreamland and then he summarized his friends advice for people seeking relationships as the bleak outlook it is for most people. made me laugh so hard I fell out of bed.

Thanks, Joe! These really help me dissociate while painting my house. I know that seems counterintuitive but it's a great alternative to ketamine. 😁

@@jackmace6531 Nope. That was just a joke. Ironically this is the second time I've had to explain a joke today. I won't quit my day job.

I loved the conversation with Dr. Hughes, just for the fact that he always addresses Joe by name. That's such a politely understated thing to do
Oh man, I cant wait to go to sleep tonight now. These podcasts are the best thing ever. Ive listened to the soup episode probably 30 times.
Really enjoyed your show in Dublin, Joe. Come back soon.
