@@allentoyokawa9068 Joe basically plays an old man in a young man's {body? no, not really) world. He has upper midwest (or UP in fact) sensibilities with appreciation for simple things: trees, Christmas trees, waterfalls, pumpkins, bean arches, and, oddly enough, people. I can't say you'll like his show but I do. The juxtaposition with other shows on the TV channel it resides really makes it stand out.
@@dj-kq4fz was he been genuine here or playing his TV character? I commented thinking he was genuinely interested and willing to learn and now I'm not sure I enjoyed the video as much as I thought. I mean, if he acted up, tho is just an episode. I watch Townsend for authenticity, you know?
@@PRDreams Hard to say. I'm guessing he has a genuine interest because there doesn't seem to be an ironic tone to his work. But he is promoting a TV show as well. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who is out to fool anybody.

As a fan of Joe and Townsends, and having found them from totally separate entertainment realms, I am both surprised and not surprised to see these two worlds cross and work so well together. Love this and would love to see more from this odd (yet not so odd) pair.
I love everything about this. Joe Pera is a treasure and him being on Townsends gave me such a mood lift I feel like I could make eight rustic stools.

Everyone thinks this is a weird crossover, it really isn’t. The two most wholesome men on earth together, it’s meant to be.

This is the crossover I never realized I needed. Joe Pera is adulthood's spiritual successor to Mister Rogers. The entertainment he provides is tonic for the soul. It's amazing to see the two of you working together. Thank you both for being who you are.
Mister Rogers is apple juice and Joe Pera is apple cider.

Joe Pera has honestly done way more for my mental health and learning how to handle emotions than my previous psychiatrists. Never even met the man but that Steven Hawking bit made me cry real tears for the first time ever.

From friends who have worked on the show (grips, cameras), nobody is quite sure how much of a character it is. A slight exaggeration is our best guess. He's like a lawful good Andy Kaufman.
It's great how his bit is just "Joe Pera Talks With You," so any time he talks with you, it's indistinguishable from the bit.

I think the genius of the character is if you ever get a thought in your head that seems like an embarrassingly obvious or mundane observation it just comes across as charming.

In the evenings after the meal is eaten and cleaned up I can see sitting and carving designs into the edges, seat and legs. Little by little throughout winter.

Probably never clicked on a Townsend notification as fast as I did when I saw Joe Pera lol totally surprised but it fits so well I could listen to Joe for hours and will put on the show before bed sometimes its so soothing.

This is officially one of my favorite channels.
I never knew this was the crossover I always wanted. I almost leaped out of my chair when I saw Joe Pera's name on Townsends.
It warms my heart to see these two come together in this way. The world needs more of this content to ease the tension, slow things down and get us back to the basics of enjoying life and those we like to spend it with.
I guess fall is the wrong season for this, but perhaps next year you could take a try at using rustic joinery where you drive square pegs of seasoned wood into round holes of green wood. As the green wood pieces dry out, the hole shrinks around the seasoned peg and tightens up without the use of glue nor nails.
I had to spend my day dealing with insurance and pharmacy mistakes so this amazing collaboration saved my day! Have a weekly or monthly Joe segment!
