We just bought the Akaso V50 Elite, thanks for the video it was a big help in getting started. Making it into a webcam for school work for children was a small challenge, a restart soon had the PC accepting it. All in all we are very pleased with it. Also what a coincidence, in your location, we as a family holiday in Brixham Every year. We went to splashdown in Paignton, but didn't go to Paignton harbour, it looks lovely so we'll be going this time. cheers.

I just got the V50 Pro and I'm mighty impressed with it.I found the V50X to have the best stabilization,V50 Elite to have best quality and V50 PRO to have a great balance between those two.Thank you for this video.

I got the package with the micro sd included, i paid 140 euros here in Italy. For now i played around with it and its great. Cheers from italy. The new remote for the camera is really different too.
The video looks great, bobflyman. Excellent editing, also. Watching from Tennessee. I had a v50X for 2 years (great camera) but I scratched the lens. I am replacing it with a V50 Elite.

I have never had a small action camera before and thought I'd get one during this time at home to entertain myself and take with me whilst kayaking. I'm a camera lover. As I played with this camera I found it to be a bit difficult. For me it wasn't intuitive. Maybe it's because I don't have experience with this type of camera. The touch screen had some lag. When I set up my camera and tried to record the hummingbird at the feeder, the video playback on my iPhone seemed slow and was made up of a lot of little squares. I figured it was the camera quality. Watching your review I now think it was user error and inexperience. I now wish I kept the camera and worked more at learning it. Loved your video clips. They were fun to watch and the quality was great. Well done. Ta! PS-- After staying in Notts and Derbyshire for 2 years you have this American 'homesick', especially during this virus.
i got this camera. amazing...........if you priced out all those accessories, the waterproof camera box is 50 dollars by itself, and wow 2 batteries.........are you kidding me!.....i payed 90 dollars for a display model never opened...........the wrist strap works Great.......picture is fine..........for 90 dollars you can't go wrong........def would buy again!!

Sadly these other companies can’t get the parts that go into the Go Pro 8’s for the multiple mic’s and the hyper stability. I can guarantee the price would be half. For now with the strict parts contracts going to Go Pro, there is really nothing as good as the Go Pro 8.

I tested the latest Akaso Brave 6 Plus recently and couldn't get voice control to work. I was in touch with Akaso and gave them voice samples for all the voice commands in an English accent and opposed to the American drawl voice they had used. I managed to get some voice commands working by pronouncing words badly!
All of those brackets and adhesive mounts for action cameras are much the same. Would take a fair knock to break one. The mounts stick on well too, once on you won't pull it off. I think white water kayaking, or motor biking it's probably wise to put a safety line on a camera. Depends what you plan to do with it mate! You need to mount a flat mount on a flat surface. And a curved one on a curve of say a motorbike helmet. IIRC you get a curved and a flat one. I've never had one blow off when riding that's for sure, but I do put a little safety line on though. That's me! I wear full face and mount on the side of the helmet.

Thank you for the video Bob. Washed out colours, horrible dynamic range and clarity. I would rather save up money and buy something decent like GoPro or DJI Osmo Action, both have far superior video quality, stabilisation, performance, and both are waterproof without the case.
Exposure is better with EV -1. But you can't have everything. There is more detail in the shadows. I found the colours natural, but a lot depends on your monitor. And colours can be adjusted in edit anyway?
@@bobflyman Yea i looked into it, and it seems Android can only have one outgoing connection enabled. And since actioncams create a server that you connect to with the phone over wifi, you are using that 1 connection. So the only way to make it work is to use a capture card or an encoding device.
I reviewed SJ8 Air and Plus, not great. I think SJ8 Pro was better. Haven't seen SJ9 and haven't tested the GoPro's apart from an older one a while back. This was good for the money and even better with 20% discount code,

Nice idea, I wish! Bluetooth remote is not the same as having capability for using a bluetooth mic.
Another quick one..what setting in your opinion would capture action better ? 4k30 or 1080/120..im mounting my cam on my helmet for dirt biking

Yes, you can change to loop recording and plug in to usb.

I have the EK4000 but when i connect with my phone to the cams wifi i loose internet on the phone, is there a way around this ?
I have the same issue with a lot of camera apps. The Xiaomi yi2 for example. Maybe in China phones work differently? Don't know a way around it sorry.

Manual says h265 is better ? You prefer h264 can you explain advantages and disadvantages of both ?
They are different methods of compression of the video. When I say I prefer 246 it's because Sony Vegas Pro will not handle 265, that's all.

That's a good question, but one I can't answer I'm afraid, they make several cameras and I've only tested a few. You'd need to ask them.

All action cameras have muted sound when a camera is in the case. You could increase levels when you edit. I used Sony Vegas Pro 14.
