    I just bought one of these whilst overseas, having left my GoPro at home in Australia. For the price, I thought I’d give it a go. I’m quite impressed with the purchase, and whilst not at the standards of the big name brand cameras, it performs better than I thought it would at that price point. Thank you for your comprehensive review.

    Have just bought (Friday 5th June 20 a AKASO ek7000Pro. It has image stabalisation. I have used it a couple of times, BUT now I know I can get it to work with the telephone, framing the image when wearing the chest strap etc. will be much easier. I like your video, I had not seen it before I purchased, the camera is likely to suit my requirement entirely. Big machines, and forestry work.

    I guess it’s hit or miss on the apps for remote use. The iSmart app has been working pretty well for me so far. Overall for a budget cam it’s pretty good. I use for insurance purposes, and not much else.

    I have the EK7000 and use it mainly for biking. The biggest problem is the lack of stabilization making it pretty useless until I found Emulsio. Paid $11.00 for the app, which is free with watermarks. It is a stabilizer app. It works amazingly and saved me from buying a GoPro at least for now.

    I just purchased the Akaso from Amazon for my Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Money was the deciding factor here. I have always wanted a GoPro but should the Akaso get damaged I wouldn't be out hundreds of dollars, just the $56 I paid.

    I am looking for an action camera for my fishing trips. I would only use it for fishing in the summer, no other use. 1080p is good enough resolution for me. I need a camera where i can one click record when i get a fish on the hook. Would the Akaso be a good choise? Also considering the Yi lite. What do you think? The Technology Man?

    • @TheTechnologyMan

    Thanks, that was a really good review. Nice and clearly presented and addressing all the things we need to know about*. I bought this very same camera from Amazon on 'Prime day'. It cost £43 but only cost me £28 (including a £15 off deal) which in my eyes you can't go wrong with. It'll be ideal for having fun whilst on holiday! :)
    *You say 32gb is the max card size for this camera has anyone gone higher (I have a 128gb Class 10 U3 Sandisk which was recognised and able to be recorded onto but I don't know if I'm able to use the full capacity)?

    I USE A VIVITAR CAMERA LIGHT ATTACHED TO A BAR WITH THE OTHER END HOLDING MY VIVITAR 756 HD ON THE OTHER END.
    The bar gets a bit loose at times but the camera light is very bright & I can now do night videos where I could not before.
    Batteries for the light are rechargeable as is the camera itself.
    Its not a Go Pro but it had to do when my Ipad was broken & I needed to do videos for my TH-cam channel.

  • @TheOneStraightPath
    @TheOneStraightPath 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To be honest for the price difference I didn't see a huge difference in picture quality, both cameras had blurry images in some cases, there wasn't that much difference, I have the Akaso EK7000 it never let me down, I have used it underwater, at night, on the move, as a dash cam and even as a CCTV camera, it always rose to the occasion. I am well pleased with it, it's in fact one of the rare cameras I have bought that didn't disappoint me.
    If people really want a cheap good (excellent) camera this is the one for you.

Since you talked about using a phone or GoPro as a webcam in your more recent videos, and you also said the other budget action cam (the Apemen, strange brandname by the way, haha) could do this, I wonder: can this one do this?

    I purchased this to capture footage of our kids playing sports so it will usually be mounted to a fence so I think the image stabilization should not be an issue. Also with the lights on baseball and softball fields in the evening I think should make the performance in poor lighting also hopefully not be an issue. I bought got my husband because he requested it and when he saw it at Christmas with all of the parts, he literally put it on a shelf and has not touched it since. I do all things technical in our house so I got it out this week and your video was very helpful to get me started as the getting started guide is very light on direction.

    I have just bought this camera for £30 new , as you say it’s limited , 4K is somewhat pointless but at 1080/60 l’m quite happy with it , we go to 1940’s events so walking around it’s a good little video , just need to find me a cheapish gimbal to set this on as no eis. But for a first action cam l’m happy with it . Gopro accessories fitting this thing is a bonus . For what l am using it for a full GoPro was out of my budget price for now . Great review

    I think I'm on board to buy the EK7000. My original intent was to buy a GoPro 8 that would handle blogging as well as being able to take a seat in my radio controlled motor boats for the various points of view from the cockpit. When I bought an iPhone 13 everything changed. I realized I could use that camera for my blogging and if I wanted I could place it in the boats. Thing is, if something happens it's a $149.00 deductable for a new iPhone. For a third of the price I can buy the Akaso for all the onboard footage I need, and if something happens I'm only out $50.00 and not $150.00 Also the fact it doesn't have stabilization is big plus in my situation.

    My sons are harassing me for a gopro. This camera seems like a much more budget friendly option for them to start with. They are 13 and 10 and want to make children's/gaming videos to post on TH-cam and the like. I'm heavily leaning towards this cheaper option to get them started in their hobby. It sounds, from your conclusions, that you suggest this camera for them to start with as well!?
    I would be very upset if they broke or destroyed the more expensive camera where as with this one, no tears need to be shed. Any more advice or input would be greatly appreciated. This camera has been sitting in my shopping cart for a few months while I decide which option would be best for them to start with.
    Thank you for your video, it's been very helpful in my decision making process but like I said, if you have anything further to add please reply asap. Cheers.

      @TheTechnologyMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you give this camera enough light it will do a decent job. Even £20 on a decent LED or CFL light will help if filming indoors. I'd record sound separately and sync the audio if they look up how to do that. A smartphone maybe a better option though overall if they don't need the ruggedness of an action camera. Hooking up with a cheap Lavalier mic avoids the syncing and old iPhones or Samsung still have pretty good cameras. But more light indoors is still important ...

    Had a look in the manual which isn't a lot of help and some videos say the option isn't available but there may have been updates on the model since the videos were made.
    It should be possible to set it to film every sixty seconds but I have no access to the camera. Are you able you tell me how you do this or give a link to the steps needed so I can pass it on to my pal?
