    I seriously think tutorials can't get much better than yours.
    A typical Point Cloud tutorial:
    Crystal clear.
    Not a word too much, not a word too little.
    Cutting edge. Making use of best, and often most recent, Blender features to do the job.
    Highly original stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else (before people will start copying you).
    And, maybe most importantly: Techniques that aren't just a nice trick, but provide extremely useful methods, "rendering superpowers". (Well - relative to my interests, admittedly this point is a little subjective.)
    Is diamond rating a thing?

    • @PointCloud

    Thank you for the tutorial! Which blend mode did you use in the material settings? I'd had trouble viewing the refractions in the material until I changed the mode to Alpha Hashed, but it still looked quite different from yours. When using the same hdri you used, the diamond just turned fully white and opaque (nothing changed in the settings). I am using blender version 3.3, can it be an internal bug or do you have any other ideas why it's not working?

    • @PointCloud
      @PointCloud  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used Cycles, not EEVEE. I think that's the main reason why your diamond looks different from mine.

    Hello, Is there a way to increase the overall opacity of your/this shader and brighten it overall?

    • @PointCloud
      @PointCloud  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could either increase just the world light intensity, since this reflects that light it will get brighter.
      Or you could overshoot the value of the white glass shader, if you click in the white color slot, there is a "V" for value, increase it over 1.0 and it will get brighter too.

    • @PointCloud
      @PointCloud  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, problem. You just have to define another "surrounding" for your diamond.
      You have your HDRI surrounding for the camera, and you need another HDRI surrounding for your diamond to reflect.
      Coincidentally I just created a video about exactly this topic^^

    • @PointCloud
      @PointCloud  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks.
      Short answer: No.
      Since this is a material which is shaded by the Cycles Engine inside of Blender, you cannot export this material.
      Only possible solution would be to export a semi-transparent video (PNG image sequence) and try to sneak it into other footage.

      Not really unfortunately.
      You can bake an animated texture in exactly the same camera angle, but I guess that's it.

    The shader only works in material preview. In rendered, the whole thing would be gray especially the mesh that is attached by the diamond. Any advices ples? hehe. For some reason, it doesn't glow like it :)

      @@PointCloud and btw it's on eevee not on cycles if that matters. Idk what hdr sphere is yet hehe. I'm pretty much of a beginner. It's at least on default.

    • @PointCloud
      @PointCloud  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah okay, so you have to use cycles for that diamond shader.
      And an hdr sphere is basically an image of the surrounding world (which is a giant sphere around your scene).
      Because this is a highly reflective shader this surrounding image is quite important for the look.
