    I got this today having the ts55 corded , so far looks nice track saw hope it keeps up as my festool does for the past 10 years and it's still like day one , let's see how the Milwaukee will perform over the time but overall looks like solid as festool

    Thanks for the overview. I already have a festool TS 55 F, but I'm very tempted to pick this up as a second tracksaw since I already have festool tracks and some M18 batteries. My only gripe though, is that when the saw is locked into the blade change position, the arbor doesn't lock too. On my TS 55, putting the blade in the change position locks the blade position as well as the arbor. Still, quite an impressive saw.

      Yeah, the Festool ts55 has some slick options the Milwaukee doesn't. It just has the blade change detent, but it's in a good spot and easily accessible that you don't really notice it when changing the blade.

      @@Outlaw.Woodworking Yeah, I'm sure in use it wouldn't be an issue; I don't change blades too often anyway.

    I can't wait to get mine. My girl pre ordered the big kit for me, for my birthday. It was suppose to ship today. I'm looking out my front window like a dog that's heard a fire engine.

    removing the riving knife is for plunge cutting in counter tops or in the middle of sheets. the knife just crashes into the material.

    • @NWGR
      @NWGR ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the riving knife on the milwaukee is like the festool, you don't need to remove it for plunge cuts; it's spring loaded. When you do a plunge cut with it, it doesn't fall into the kerf until you move the saw forward some. The riving knife on the ryobi isn't spring loaded though; that one you do need to take it off to plunge cut.

    It does work on the power tech. And it’s a 6.0 High output battery in the kit. They discontinued the 9.0 all most two years ago.

      Do all of the functions and capabilities of the Milwaukee saw work on the power Tech tracks

      @@masterkilla77 The anti-tilt for Bevils not really, it fits into the groove but it’s tight. but honestly the anti-tip or tilt feature isn’t necessary more of a added convenience. A lot of Tracksaws don’t even offer that feature the saw itself has got a wide bass so between the wide base the two handles and the fact that it’s sliding on a track even a DIYer can manage without this.

      @@thistledownwoodcraft3426 Yeah big difference between the new 6,8 and 12Ah and the old 9 and 5 etc. the 6,8,12 Ah Are high output batteries which means they are 21 700cell instead of the old 18 650 cell batteries like the 5Ah the old 9, etc. that’s why the six is so much bigger than the five it’s not just the extra amp hour it has larger cells as well.

    I have the same setup as you (Makita track saw and Milwaukee cordless tools) and I had made inquiries to the Milwaukee reps before X-Mas and they had little info to provide at the time. Glad it is now available and you provided a good review. Something to put in my shopping cart. What is the model number?

    How does the splinter guard actually work?

    • @Outlaw.Woodworking
      @Outlaw.Woodworking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you run the saw, the blade will run into the guard and basically creat a 0 clearance and simply just helps to eliminate the splinters/ tear out

      Believe it or not it actually has more power than the Festool, so is it over priced ?more power with one battery instead of two. Plus the Milwaukee is more similar to the Festool than the Makita. The Milwaukee kind of feels like a updated festool. They were definitely looking at Festool they designed this saw.
