I use a steam mop, but I have been looking for a flat mop for cleaning my walls. The only thing I don't like about the drying feature on the buckets is that as it squeezes out the dirty water, that nasty water overflows into the clean water.

I use both a regular mop and a steam mop. My grandsons are very messy and I taught them how to mop up their messes.

When u had ur first home, u inspired me to get the flat mop. N i love mines, the only down side is that where u have the teeth to place the pads, the lil pockets start tearing cuz of the drying side of the teeth. U get me, right.... Thanks for the video.

To clean base boards use a fluffy dust-mop pad, first dry then, if needed, a clean, damp or misted one. That's why the different pad textures are so useful. Also, the dust mops sop up spilled liquid really well.

I used to have a mop like ocedar and then changed to a flat mop system. I prefer the flat mop it gives you the option to how dry you want that mop.. Also bear in mind while I see the comments about using the dirty water.. That is coming out with you using the dry feature. I love the versatility of the flat mop especially when using to clear the ceilings. I also have a shark steam pro mop.. I do use that once every two weeks for a deep clean and sanitize the floor.. I hope they one day they design a flat mop with a area to catch the dirty water.

When mopping make a frame around the edges of the area you want to mop, with the mop head parallel to the wall. Then mop backwards in a figure of 8 motion so the mop head is always moving in a positive motion and carrying all the dirt, dust, lint and crumbs with it.

  • @qveenissac

Use a razor blade or utility blade and score where the fill line is inside your plastic buckets so you don't have to guess. You can even heat the blade a lil at the stove so the line is deep and clear (but don't make it too hot or deep it punches thru!). I did this on my bucket and it helps speed the process.

Terrific video Selma!! I have an original (mop bucket with spinner section) Old Cedar Mop and I'd love something better. I HAVE to mop daily because I have a pet. Your original mop seems better, but I do worry about staining the pads. You have a pet as well, does the original mop (brown and tan) work better with pet accidents?

I like my spin mop but it is a chore to keep it clean and the mop head pops off too easy. Also every little thing gets stuck in the mop fibers and won't wash out. I haven't tried that particular flat mop but the dollar tree has some and the mop pads are only a dollar each and are washable.

O cedar is best even despite makes you more effort than 2 others. Because for others you all the time immerse into the dirty water once you clean your floor. For both of them there is only a short of time clean(non touch) water before you immerse your dirty mop, even clean water tank will get dirty by immerse your mop every single time...

Just bought one of these systems on August 26, 2022. Unless someone comes up with a better way, this is a NEW way one can mop their floors. For the last 100 years I ignore the floor under my frig & stove. I was hesitant about using my brand new flat mop for this job. The floor was DISGUSTING. Disgust now gone bye-bye. There was a lot of scrubbing, but the flat mop did a superb job. I am one happy camper. When I was done, the microfiber pad was filthy. It deserved to be tossed, it was that dirty. Instead, I soaked the pad in laundry detergent for 24 hours. Then machine washed in hot water. Though the pad was originally sky blue, it took on grey color after cleaning the floors. But guess what? The pad is usable. It's completely clean & soft like I never used it. Next stop, my bathroom tile floors & wall!

Rinsing and squeezing a flat mop makes it pointless. You can just use a sponge mop then. You're supposed to change the mop pad when you need a fresh one. Actually I like to prepare a few in a sink of soapy water and ring them all out. Then change them as needed.

You are creating a lot of work for yourself because you're using the mops wrong. Mop with wide sweeping motions horizontally, in a figure 8. It goes 20 times faster than back and forth scrubbing.
