  • In this episode we look back to Summer 2023 when we spent a number of weeks in Marmaris, Turkey upgrading our Amel Sharki sailboat. If you're interested in the process for servicing an offshore life raft, or replacing standing rigging....this may be the right kind of episode for you.
    Thanks for following and enjoy!

Great video, new rigging will give you some peace of mind as will the serviced lift raft and a new main. All coming together, keep it going!

Thanks guys - you’re always so encouraging and we appreciate it 🙏🏻. We’re about to cross the Atlantic on our friend’s boat, hoping for some free time to catch up on video editing 😉. Looking forward to getting back on our Galene in the Spring ⛵️☺️

Loved the video guys. Its amazing how much you learn when you're having work carried out on your boat. You'll never regret having these things renewed, especially when you start heading west 😉.
Thank goodness the furler chain plate was seen then.
We have 26 points of contact with our rigging, I'm assuming you must have similar. We understand how costly new rigging is on a Ketch, eye watering!
Pete, your narrative was brilliant, and yours too Deb 🥰⛵️🧡

Awww - thanks for watching and yes, it was our biggest investment yet and one that we hope will see us through our full tenure on Galene 🤞🏻. We had heard from a couple of Sharki owners about their chain plates failing, but was still shocked to see ours was on the brink of doing the same, it’s given us a prompt to inspect things more frequently! 🧐🤗
