So stage 2 in a first
Late ass reply but this guy knows what he’s talking about. The short shifter and short shift knob are must haves and they’re super underrated.
The video was okay, but I disliked because of the dabbing

I was biased towards thumbs down from then on. Didn't win me back. 👎

I have this urgency to follow your path in disliking.. dabbing to me is kinda generic, I'd rather have them hit the whoa
#NoDab2020
Pro tip: That center air vent is meant to throw air into the rear of the cabin. Doesn't do anything but that's what it's intended for lol. You should've added a resonator delete as an easy mod to add a little sound. Usually is around $30-50 depending on the shop and makes a world of a difference. Best $30 I've ever spent for my R32. Nice video guys!
the cheapest mod (free) is removing the front section of the air box to hear the turbo spool louder
Jorge Suarez send me a tutorial pls
@@joeschmoe1645 if you find a video send it here please
Can you do it on a mk6 Jetta?
@@in67koRAW just get a cold air intake
all I got from this was how to be a cringy mkv owner in 10 different ways
Should I make a video on how to be a cringy person in general? I'm pretty good at it
no need to hate lol, they both are proud of their clean mk5s
Joe Kinchicken what’s wrong with the mk5 not everyone has the money for a brand new car every 5-8 years for the next gens lol
Joe Kinchicken fair enough I see your point just being a mk5 owner myself lol
💪🏻🔝💪🏻
The mods I've done to my car at age 17 and glad I'm not no ricer, but I have full straight pipe with awe cat back, only got one little resonator. Cts turbo cai, gfb dv+, stage 2 clutch kit, cts turbo turbo outlet pipe, Cobb ap, stage 2+, and red r8 coils and spark plugs. Car is fun af, now time for some cosmetic mods.
+1 for listing vagcom as first "mod". The possibilities are endless with that thing. Plus, maintenance is so much easier.
I got my Vag com cable from the wish app for $7 and it worked absolutely fine. I added the ability for locking and unlocking windows to my Audi A4, and turned off the seat belt chime.
Mine would be
1.Intake
2.Dump pipe
3. Stage 2 flash tune
4. Grippy front tyres 5. Resonator delete pipe or a cat back exhaust if you have enough money left for that.
I had an 09 gti and now i have a 2016 jetta and it doesnt have a vent on the dash and i wish it did like my gti because it stuggles to defrost the widlndshiel without it
The vent on top is not for de-fogging/de-frosting, it is for in-direct air flow. Some people don't like the A/C blowing right on them so you can close off the ones above the radio and still get cold air.
If you change coding of your instrument cluster onto EU via VCDS (you still have miles on the display, you can change units in MFA), you'll gest those inner high beams to work together with xenons - when you have lights turned off, you flash only the inner lights, when dipped beam is on - inner lights illuminate AND shutter in bixenon opens when you switch to high beam. ;)
Good video, I don't understand the hate. All the best.
The top vent is in case you want to have the ac venting around you and not blasting you in the face area. Also I think that is where the light sensor is if you want auto head lights , which is kind of cool to have like when you go into a tunnel or for the coming home feature.
Auto lights sensor is with the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror
"Do you know why they put a vent here?" this is so classic.
Pretty cool guys. Ballin on a Budget
That vent is an air-diffusor. It's there to soften the force of the air blowing out of the front facing vents. Blast the air coming out of the front vests with the air-diffusor opened and closed and you'll feel the difference.
I just plasti dipped the interior trim pieces black in my MKV GTI and I absolutely love it. And it's very, very easy to do.
Eli be hating on Alex's car
How about a full exhaust? Idgaf about lights. You won't see mine when I'm gone.
"cheap"
fefnirscards
Honestly, if you want a cheap exhaust, id say that a muffler delete and/or a resonator delete is the way to go.
@@PapiAndrey Yeah but be prepared to absolutely despise the constant drone that will make all of your passengers hate you.
@@coalwalker6213 Yes. I removed the mufflers off my Jetta years before I got my GTI and I regretted it ever since. It wasn't cheap either ($250)
Love the gti videos
Thanks!
Thanks for the great videos! Always love to see the GTI. I really wish my MKVI had a spot for the dash tray, that would definitely come in handy.
Thanks man! Didn't realize the Mk6's didn't have a space for a dash tray! You learn something new every day...
That vent on the front center also opens and closes the front windshield defrost ducts by the way.
correct! there are still a bunch of vents pointing at the windshield though so it works just fine even with the dash tray.
Just picked up a MK5 and this video helped a ton on where to start modding.
Nice video! Jealous of all the possible Vag Com mods. Don't think Subies have that option
VagCom is a fantastic thing :) So many coding possibilities.... People even write their own mods. Pretty cool stuff
@IgnitionTube Do you have an FSI or TSI?
FSI
thank you for getting back to me, IgnitionTube . subscribed
The vent on the dash in Europe is to put your mittens on it and keep them dry and warm
car looks good man!
Thanks dude!
nice cars¡¡¡¡ GTI power¡¡¡¡
Close your eyes and Shaggy from Scooby Doo is hosting 😂... class video but, sweet 👍🏻
The one on the right looks like Ryan Renolds
sweet! cant wait to get a gti!
Awesome man!
Good thing this was 4 years ago, hope you guys graduated from high school and driving a wrx now
Hi..I noticed on both GTI's, (not sure if this is for all U.S. versions) but your Tartan-Seats only had the standard headrests and not the GTI-Logo'd-Rounded-Flush-Headrests. You should invest in some of them seats too,.(if you still have these cars)...They're usually heated as well!..:)..
Golf 5 The Best🔝💪🏻
I like everyone complaining that these are all superficial mods, like no shit the point is cheap mods, performance mods are not cheap
It's funny that your right parking light flickers because I have the Ziza LED city lights in mine and my same one flickers as well! Can't seem to fix the issue though.
I have a mk5 with a few issues and my husband has mention if I want to get a new car of this yr. Am I crazy for not wanting to?..🤔🤦♀️🤷♀️
The carista app does similar to vagcom with allowing you to mod the lighting only £15 for the app and about £30 for the ECU reader Bluetooth as well!
I'm a mk4 guy. I love my 20th. I like the wider body gti's. Mk5's and Mk6's are to narrow and pointy for my liking but cool vid.
Jorel Ortiz mk 4 is the shittiest gti
@@colewilmoth246 Id say the mk3 was worse because it was much heavier and to much body roll on corners
the upper dash vent is for better circulation of air throughout the interior.
most people will have the front vents pointing directly rearward towards the occupants. so there is very little circulation of air. instead of just the area around where the vent is blowing being frigid, better circulation means your whole body will be cooler. and therefore you can turn the a/c down, and the system doesn't have to work as hard.
I already got the vag com and led interior lights but one thing I would add to this list is a cold air intake. This allows you to get rid of the engine cover on FSI.
Not a bad idea!
Where did Alex get his Shift Boot at? That red stitching would look cool.
Why don't you guys buy a nice touchscreen radio? Talking about easy and cheap mods.. I think that's the first thing you should do..
For fucking real!!!
another good mod, tint your taillights a little bit darker so they look euro
Where did u get the tray????
thanks guys, i own a 400hp STI, but i really like the GTI. thinking of getting one God's will.
Did you guys film this at 95 hayden garage? Seems like it
The guy in the white sounds like a reincarnation of Jessie from the fast and furious ha, good video lads.
The Vagcom mod. wouldn't this void the warrantee on the car's computer system?
I have a normal golf 5, can I program to beep when the lights are left on and the keys are left in the ignition?
Thanks for this video guys, I really enjoyed it .I prefer the long shifter though..
Would the GTI be a comfortable car for a 6'3 Foot person to drive daily? Is there a lot of head room? Thanks! Keep up the good videos!
Massachusetts! Hell yeah! Do you go to any car shows across the state?
The vent on the top of your dash was for airflow without havin it blowing in your face out the front vents... and to help increase exchange for ppl in the backseat if someone else hasn’t already answered this for ya ;)
can't wait to do these to my mkV Jetta
Awesome!
The best mod is a tune IMO....flashed is totally different machine. Love the vid guys! Cool mods
this came out awesome Eli nice work! #IWatchedEliDab
Where did you get your vagcom from and what one did you use
you crushed his head at 7:17...are you a kids in the hall fan?
I love that car! That was my first GTI
Thank you for the tips on this, just got my own GTI and I will keep those in mind! Also made my first video on my channel of my new gti
Cool vid guys!! The vent is just for a.c so it dont blow right on you. But the dash tray is really cool i might invest in that
The top vent is to diffuse the AC so it doesn't dry your eyeballs out. Would be a great spot for a pop up Navi
Great video guys
Triple gage pod is really nice
I like the lower of the car. I'm still working on intake, exhaust and eventually stage 3 kit. I will take some of the 5 cheap mods, including the interior lights, I want to change my MK6 to Zeon lights, but we will see. The Euro switch has the ability for daytime running on/off. Not sure why the Germans didn't offer that feature on 2013, or the freaking 2016.
Greaaat tips! thanks boyz
How about a resonator delete? You think is a good cheap mod???
it just makes your car louder. doesn't noticeably increase air flow.
i would consider that a waste of money, but some people want their car to be loud. so if that's what you're looking for, then yes, it would certainly be cheaper than a cat back.
you can also do the turbo muffler delete. i haven't done it myself, but it supposedly improves air flow in addition to improving the sound from the turbo. it's an easy mod, and not very expensive.
what company did you buy for the flash to pass bulbs?
And im definitely subscribing to your updates. Thanks guys.
how does the switch work? do I just put it in or is there something else I have to do? like reprogram the car or some
Was it necessary for you to reprogram the lights with VAG-COM to turn DRLs off?
yep
Thanks. I figured as much.
Jordan Rose it must be different for mk5 because my mk4, you don't need to reprogram anything
Just got an 08 red vw r32 and was wondering what some of the aesthetic mods that are available and where to find or see them.
And then like cheap easy ones and also any suggestions for black wheels or exhaust?
Hi wich model the left golf 5 gti (the gray one)? 5:16
is there any big diffrence you should look before getting a `golf` between golf mk5 vs mk6
Yeah, who needs the TPMS. These two are geniuses...
Who does need TPMS? It's meant to help people who don't want to check their air pressure by hand. It takes maybe 1 minute to use a little tire gauge and check your air pressure every week
yeah tpms is for lazy people that don't know anything about cars. I don't mind checking my pressures and i definitely notice if one of my tires is low.
Nice video guys I have an MK6 and I was wondering if you guys have any good opinions on tuning. Should I go with APR or Unitronics?
Can you play music through aux? If not, do u have a solution for it?
How do u guys afford them expensive cars anyway? Did u buy them used?
Expensive?? lol
Right now you can get MKVs as low as $5k, the cleaner ones are a little more around 10k. But even brand new they were in the mid-high $20ks which wasn't bad at all.
Audi S lines are expensive, BMW Ms are expensive not GTIs. They still look really nice though.
Sweet vid loved it! Great mods for the price. Would love to do a collab sometime if you are in Cali, I have a GTI too but my channel is MK7 focused.
Cali is across the country :/
Well dang lol. Well if you are ever in Cali look me up brotha.
Hey guys I got a 2017 GLI and was wondering if the euro switch would work on it ? It would be a pretty cool mod with the LED strip that my car has
i caught the kids in the hall reference. nice
I've got an MKV Rabbit and I was planning on adding some lighting to my footwells. How does he have his set up? 12v plug or hardwired?
just regular amazon led bulbs w5w
the only use I ever got out of the TPMS was that it let me know I had a flat tire but by the time the warning came on I already recognized the problem.
THAT INTO THO OMG
asuhhhhhh
you wanna get LEDs for you fogs to match the xenon's
gather you don't get the auto headlights in the US?
Im looking for blue LED footwell for my 2014 MK6 GTI Wolfsberg edition. Any suggestions IgnitionTubes??
deautokey
second deautokey
What wheels are you running on the silver gti?
Replacing G with S is best mod. 😁👌
But you can get an STI on your local shady street corner... GTIs are special
RIP
+IgnitionTube I agree V-Dub Luvv . I have respect for the SlOWBARUS Lol .
Yuck x2 1) Lesbaru 2) Rice
man!!!!! they are 2 different cars, my sti car is not slow yet i like the gti since it is nice for everyday rides. my car gets you in troubles if you are not aware enough on public roads.
How do i get my 10minutes and 13seconds back
thanks for this video im planning on getting a 08 gti in the next few months so im doing alot of research on what i should and shouldnt upgrade first i would love the 6 speed manual but i mostly only see autos for sale i would be fine with both tho
Where did you get the tray for the dash?
do have a link or something for the type of VAGCOM you have?
Nice video mk5 goodnesss
Thanks man!
Where did you buy your interior LED lighting?
I have a skoda octavia vrs in the UK I'm pretty sure it's the same dash layout
But the dash tray/air vent is a tray and standard with a touch pop open and close cover
i have a question about the r32 big brake. you only put the big brake and dont change the rotor or you need change the rotor. thanks
