Great idea! Great video! Thumbs way up! Only issue was not able to find 85mm straps...sold out everywhere. I ordered 80mm with hopes that they will do the job as 90mm seems too long to do the job properly. So far it's set up with cable tie limiters, which I am sure will fail with use...the plastic cable ties will eventually stress and break from repeated flexing I believe.
Which Yeah Racing Heat Sink / Fans did you buy? The E-Revo 2.0 motor is 41.8mm diameter and I'm only seeing the Yeah Racing one for 40.8 motor size #YA-0261BK. Thanks!

On my E-Revo 2.0 VXL I replaced the VXL6S esc with the older Castle MXL6S esc and the response and power output is day and night. I'm surprised Traxxas didn't fit a newer Castle for Traxxas ESC on the new E-Revo.
So nice video. Limiting straps are not necessary for the front and not necessary for the rear either. It was two glitches traxxas made when they first produced the erevo 2.0. First was the size of the rocker arm threads in the rear, they were too small for this rig and the leverage it has with the long arms. Second with the progressive 2 rocker arms in the rear there is a little red spacer that goes on the push rod before you thread them together. This extends the rocker arms so they won’t pull out. I’ve never broke a pushrod or pulled a shock end out.
I need to know what size limiting straps used in the front and rear because I have some now currently and they are stretched out. Please let me know ASAP is there a 85 mm straps for front and rear?
I've had my revo 2.0 for about 4 months and with in the first month I had upgraded the chassis brace because I broke 2 I had replaced the stock esc to a hobby wing max 8, the centre drive shaft to hot racing upgraded all links and push rods and then burnt out the max 8 so upgraded it to a max 6 then also burnt out the motor because it just would not keep cool ever, and blew out the stock tires, and then upgraded it to a leopard 4282 1680kv motor took a little bit of trimming the aluminium chassis brace but thinking of getting the leopard 4275 motor at 1450kv but the 1680 kv motor needs about 2 or more fans running very hard on 6s with proline mx 3.8s with 2 60 to 120c lipos and I might get rid of the stock servos and get some ones of bang good and get the upgraded servo saver spring

It may look cleaner but how well can that work?? You putting them attached to each other then how can they be limited to travel if they can still travel strongly both ways? Been wondering this before I buy the truck to make sure it's strong and ready out the box for bashing. I see the strap being more effective being attached to the chassis. But hey what do I know I haven't trial and error it my self so I only have thoughts.
Instead of plastic tubing, get some Scotch 2228 mastic electrical tape. A tiny strip is all you'll need between the strap and frame. Its great stuff. It's very thick, has great adhesive, moisture sealing. Once you have it you'll be finding all sorts of uses for it. Those straps won't rub thru it and if they do long term, just put another piece on.
why not run the front straps under that plastic shock cage between it and the shock springs? That should allow it to extend to it's full length/limit without being restricted by the top of that shock cage. I got 2 sets a few months ago and only installed the back so far but was just getting ready to figure out how to install the front as well instead of letting them sit in my parts box.
Well, the question here is? Everything you have done that has worked? Have you tried jumping? And if the straps work for you, we need to see a video of the operation. of the shock absorber system.
Nope. I started off with 85mm and the shock bottomed out. Understand that the strap does stretch a bit. I may do another video showing exactly how everything works.

Couldn’t you use heat shrink to put over the front straps. It would still give it a fairly clean look.

Use some shrink wrap on the outside of the front limiting straps should work well

For a cleaner look on front straps, try running a single limit strap one rocker to the other where the tie rod bolts in.

To prevent the push rod ends from pulling out by limiting suspension travel.

I just measured an 80mm just gets you to the mtg’s area too the rocker, shouldn’t it have some additional travel? I’m thinking 90mm?????
