  • Today we install a electronic boost solenoid aka 3 port Mac valve. We also turn the boost up to 16 psi on this stock head and block d16y7 non vtec setup. I am leaving links below to the pin out for th ecu as well as a link to the mac valve i purchased.

    If anyone wants a street tune like what i just got done by Michael Sengvixay then hit him up on facebook. He is only doing hondata s300 currently no chip tunes because so much can happen and fail with them and then they blame the tuner but i can personally say he knows his stuff! Tell him James D guy sent you $250 street tune and $450 for a dyno tune but you will need to rent a dyno for that.

    Nice it's coming up quick!
    Once you pop the motor open to start upgrading internals it's going to by pushing some serious horses

      Yea without a doubt. This engine has upwards of 190K miles to 200,000 thats why i love these D engines and thats why they call me D guy! :D

    Boost by gear seems like it would be extremely effective in allowing you to maximize your launches . Lol I sometimes with my supercharger was a turbo for the cool things you can do with turbos

    Can you post a current build sheet of what’s done to the car as far a engine work goes? I’m curious as to what I would need to turbo my sedan

    What did it dyno at ? Impressive for a Y7 !

    • @TexasHondaChannel

      Pops Lops On 8.8psi on conservative timing it only made 194whp with the air filter on the turbo. Without air filter 200whp. Now we have more aggressive timing, electronic boost control with high flow fuel pump and new fuel pressure regulator and the boost is much higher. My buddy/tuner says it should be right around 300whp once I get a new clutch. This stage 2 single disc clutch can’t keep up very good with the higher psi and power. It screams though. This is just the stock engine with a eBay/amazon turbo kit i pieced together. I will be doing a fully built engine all y7 with race cam shooting for 500+ the turbo supports 600+ horse power and I have 1000cc injectors ready to drop in if needed. Which I will need eventually since these 525cc are at about 50% duty cycle at 16psi. Might be able to make 350-400hp on these injectors it’s I bump my fuel pressure up.

      @@TexasHondaChannel Awesome brother, subscribed.The ole D series doesnt get much love anymore with B and K swaps becoming more common but Bisi got over 700hp in his EF wagon on a Z6 or Y8.Very impressive especially with stock internals !

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pops Lops Well thanks for the sub!They call me James D guy because D series are my specialty even did a headgasket blind folded here on the channel! Also bisi took that 700hp d series out and put a K swap in. These D series have always and will always be my favorite Honda engine. My second favorite is F series then H series then B16 then K last. Not a fan of the K series hype. Had a buddy with one and we raced and I beat it. Not saying they aren’t fast at all but to me it’s just a lot of hype. Good engines now doubt but meh I still love me some good ol single jingle.

      @@TexasHondaChannel One of the best SOHC engines ever made.I have both a Y7 and K24 and the Y7 has been trouble free for 322K miles, not so with the K24 at 270K miles.Chain tensioners are garbage and early ones suffered from soft exhaust cams and every one of them uses a quart of oil between changes.Not to say they arent great engines but I cant justify the cost of a 200hp K24a2 swap when you can get that from a boosted and tuned D series for a fraction of the cost.

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pops Lops Yea for sure! I have very little money into this setup way less than I would if I k swapped. Even if I had the K engine the price of everything else just to make it work is expensive! I looked into it awhile back and said F that I would rather J swap than K. So J swap might happen in the future on this channel.

    any reason he didnt use the quick spool settings. I see PFI does the same why that he did but it would seem like quick spool would be safer? I just set mine up and it was working great but ever since i set up the quick spool settings it works on and off.
