That hatred in Barry's eyes at the end. And of course Thawne will always come back and if previous seasons haven't done that already, this season has very clearly made him the biggest villain of the Arrowverse. He would literally kill himself twice over, if it meant coming back with his powers to haunt Barry once again. And killing Iris is just the cherry on the cake for him.

The fact that they killed Iris, by Barry's own hand is insane and reignited my dwindling love for the show. Now, I'm sure they'll bring her back...after all can't wipe the kids from existence by killing a main character. But this should destroy Barry in the moment, no one can deal with this level of loss.
Yeah, what I predict is that the visions that iris was having were from the positive still force. Somehow getting her to sacrifice herself will “free” the positive forces. After that they will be able to bring her back. They said in the episode that she infected the forces, maybe with her gone, the forces will get better rapidly. This is definitely going to leave Barry scared for a long while.

This would’ve been a great return scene for Savitar, he was caused by Iris’ death, so you could imagine just booming in the timeline or universe, and a blue streak is flashing towards Flash, and then you see the tall Savitar just standing
These last few episodes prove that the CW knows how to produce a great flash show when filler is not involved. I absolutely did not expect this plot twist and I was out of my seat in awe while watching. The fact that they are ending this with Thawne makes this that much more meaningful since in the comics it always ends with him. Also the peeling of the skin of his younger self was unexpectedly graphic in all the best ways possible. Great job to the writers and actors involved.

He is like virus that gets "cured" but finds ways to "mutate and adapt", returning stronger and more tenacious than ever before.
I was never really a fan of the original suit but the original looks better on Him and Tom looks great in the new suit so I'm pretty happy to see it again
It’s ironic that in season 3 Barry would’ve done anything to stop himself (Savitar) from killing Iris but inevitably, it happened anyway. Imagine next season is Barry’s descent into becoming Savitar. I know it would never happen but it would be cool to think about.
This was so epic, and I really am hyped for the next episode. But you have to admit, that scream from Meena when Reverse-Flash rips his face open was so damn hilarious LMAO 😂
One thing about twists like this, you can sometimes never see it coming and other times you have a feeling that an old enemy will take an opportunity to "rise from the ashes" and come back and even bigger and stronger threat than before. Socio/psychopath Thawne certainly doesn't disappoint especially since we all know that he was beyond redemption and shouldn't have been left alive after he was depowered. That's the problem with the heroes of DC Universe, they have a bad habit of assuming that their nemesis has been completely defeated and is no longer a threat, letting their guards down and themselves wide open to a knife in the back. The only thing a monster like that deserves and pardon me if I am sounding cold in saying this, is a bullet between the eyes and a one-way ticket to the deepest circle of Hell. In the end, Barry will have to live with the aftermath of what has just happened here and will it either break him as well as forever change his destiny as The Flash or will he find a way to make it right and balance the scales of karma like he always does? We will wait and see.........
I bet the entire Team Flash is now going to regret not letting original Thawne disappear out of existence, just like Barry and Iris wanted him to. What really got to me was Joe being such a hard ass to them about it. He's going to be drowning in regret now.

I wondered Dion killed Thawne at Lian-Yu, but now I understand. A depowered Eobard Thawne wasn't worth the effort. The real Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash was needed to not only be the Flash's greatest enemy, but he was also needed to be the avatar for the Negative Speed Force. This is why Eobard Thawne is Barry's greatest enemy, because no matter how many times Barry destroys him, no matter how many times Thawne is erased from the timeline, no matter how many times he is destroyed in the multiverse, Thawne is like a bad penny. He will always turn up, and it's frightening. And the way Tommy Thawne did a kind of caterpillar in a cocoon style thing with the good Thawne by tearing him off like he was nothing more than a shell of his former self in order to reveal the truth underneath, that was not only terrifying, but epic in so many ways. It shows that Thawne is so powerful and so dangerous, that no amount of kindness or decency can overpower the sheer level of evil that is in Thawne's heart. He is the embodiment of pure evil. Savitar came close, Zoom was the only one that could rival Thawne, but Thawne is in a class of his own. And not only has Thawne returned, he's also taken another trophy for himself. He's done what Savitar said he would do, which was take away the one thing that was Barry's connection to any kind of humanity and happiness left in his world. He destroyed Barry's lightning rod. He indirectly killed Iris. Something that villains have tried to do for eight long years, but failed every time. And now, a new force has been created in the form of the new Negative Speed Force, with Thawne being its avatar, and the leader of the Negative Forces.

Iris dying at the end of this episode, truly was a tragic twist. 😢 The part with evil Thawne being reborn the way he did, now that was even more surprising! The friendly Thawne's face being ripped off to show his evil opposite, sort of gave a horror movie vibe.

The flash is not a god, he is still human, he can experience shock. I would be too if I had been amped up to execute a plan and suddenly someone I’m close to gets subbed in at the last second after I’ve already wound up to take the hit.
Makes totally sense that Thawne rips of his original face, just to wear Dr. Wells face again. I hoped so much that we get Matt back as Reverse Flash in this and next season.

My assumption is that when Barry struck Iris with the positive speed force lightning, the negative tachyons in her body must have been flushed out of her system which knocked her out for a bit

It's been amazing how better it's been the past couple of episodes. It's like they have a whole new writing team or something. I mean the recent episode was almost like a mini movie. Just incredible. It's about time. Because it's been cringy and boring for about two seasons for the most part
Barry barely reacted to seeing his wife dying in front of him. Meena's reaction to seeing Flashpoint Eobard dying, however, is much more emotional. Even if indirectly, Thawne took the life of the only version of himself who got to live a happy life and actually got to be a hero and overcome the effects of the Negative Speed Force. It’s ironic that in season 3 Barry would’ve done anything to stop himself (Savitar) from killing Iris but inevitably, it happened anyway. Imagine next season is Barry’s descent into becoming Savitar. I know it would never happen but it would be cool to think about.
This was so epic, and I really am hyped for the next episode. But you have to admit, that scream from Meena when Reverse-Flash rips his face open was so damn hilarious LMAO 😂

One thing about twists like this, you can sometimes never see it coming and other times you have a feeling that an old enemy will take an opportunity to "rise from the ashes" and come back and even bigger and stronger threat than before. Socio/psychopath Thawne certainly doesn't disappoint especially since we all know that he was beyond redemption and shouldn't have been left alive after he was depowered. That's the problem with the heroes of DC Universe, they have a bad habit of assuming that their nemesis has been completely defeated and is no longer a threat, letting their guards down and themselves wide open to a knife in the back. The only thing a monster like that deserves and pardon me if I am sounding cold in saying this, is a bullet between the eyes and a one-way ticket to the deepest circle of Hell. In the end, Barry will have to live with the aftermath of what has just happened here and will it either break him as well as forever change his destiny as The Flash or will he find a way to make it right and balance the scales of karma like he always does? We will wait and see.........
I bet the entire Team Flash is now going to regret not letting original Thawne disappear out of existence, just like Barry and Iris wanted him to. What really got to me was Joe being such a hard ass to them about it. He's going to be drowning in regret now.

He might come back, because in the comics after thawne made his villain group, barry changed his future. So they could bring matt back, like when ralph was possessed.

I wondered Dion killed Thawne at Lian-Yu, but now I understand. A depowered Eobard Thawne wasn't worth the effort. The real Eobard Thawne, the Reverse Flash was needed to not only be the Flash's greatest enemy, but he was also needed to be the avatar for the Negative Speed Force. This is why Eobard Thawne is Barry's greatest enemy, because no matter how many times Barry destroys him, no matter how many times Thawne is erased from the timeline, no matter how many times he is destroyed in the multiverse, Thawne is like a bad penny. He will always turn up, and it's frightening. And the way Tommy Thawne did a kind of caterpillar in a cocoon style thing with the good Thawne by tearing him off like he was nothing more than a shell of his former self in order to reveal the truth underneath, that was not only terrifying, but epic in so many ways. It shows that Thawne is so powerful and so dangerous, that no amount of kindness or decency can overpower the sheer level of evil that is in Thawne's heart. He is the embodiment of pure evil. Savitar came close, Zoom was the only one that could rival Thawne, but Thawne is in a class of his own. And not only has Thawne returned, he's also taken another trophy for himself. He's done what Savitar said he would do, which was take away the one thing that was Barry's connection to any kind of humanity and happiness left in his world. He destroyed Barry's lightning rod. He indirectly killed Iris. Something that villains have tried to do for eight long years, but failed every time. And now, a new force has been created in the form of the new Negative Speed Force, with Thawne being its avatar, and the leader of the Negative Forces.
This was one of the best scenes in the flash ever

Well that was definitely not how I thought thawne was going to return. Good lord that scene was actually pretty creepy and Barry's face at the end was perfect
Only the later seasons would have Barry's kids, Bart and Nora, no not Barry's mother who is infact in this scene as a Speedforce avatar, the one who's from a different timeline from season 6 along with Iris having a time sickness allowing her to see the future

I knew it was Thawne because at 3:14 you can hear him breathing in the particles sent by the still force and it sounded like he was vibrating his vocal chords so I knew he was finally back and with SPEED 😮💨
Iris dying at the end of this episode, truly was a tragic twist. 😢 The part with evil Thawne being reborn the way he did, now that was even more surprising! The friendly Thawne's face being ripped off to show his evil opposite, sort of gave a horror movie vibe.
Iris dying isn't tragic in the slightest. I was cheering the whole time watching.

The flash is not a god, he is still human, he can experience shock. I would be too if I had been amped up to execute a plan and suddenly someone I’m close to gets subbed in at the last second after I’ve already wound up to take the hit.

And at that point he didnt even did many things besides killing Barry's mom, its been 7 season and now Thawne is a fucking threat and they didnt even tought about letting him die, it wasnt a matter of killing him (and Barry/Team did this with that atomic guy and aliexpress Sandman), it was a matter of letting him die along with Negative Speedforce, what would kill him forever. Barry barely reacted to seeing his wife dying in front of him. Meena's reaction to seeing Flashpoint Eobard dying, however, is much more emotional. Even if indirectly, Thawne took the life of the only version of himself who got to live a happy life and actually got to be a hero and overcome the effects of the Negative Speed Force.

Meena made it hilarious actually. Her screaming made me laugh my ass out. But with all seriousness thawne ripping his own body apart to come back was actually twisted.
This was amazing, love the comic reference, and it totally caught me off guard. I do hope Matt comes back though, especially for the Series finale which I assume will be the next season, it was great seeing him again.
