    Really impressed with the no nonsense approach that shows good practice and reasons behind why you use certain methods, also demystifying the dismantling of certain cameras that like the trip, has to go back in a certain way as most do, but the methods t help achieve this. I would be interested in the Spotmatic and Olympus OM 1 and 2 range particularly the shutter release area on these. The Spotmatic has two different types of release and the less common one is causing me issues in figuring out the release. Regards David

    Thanks! I've been working on an original first generation Pen and the similarities between this mechanism and the Pens make this video very useful.
    My pen has an issue where the cocking mechanism keeps winding and automatically fires the shutter. The shutter itself also doesn't open, and only works about once per 20 shots.

    Thanks for the video. Any chance of quoting the viscosity of the two machine oils that you used please.

    Have you ever done a video on the aperture blades on the ee2 being stuck ?

    Took my trip apart and back together and for some reason the aperture settings wheel is just spinning and not actually clicking round like it should? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated I kept it on A and the mountain icon when putting it back on ensuring it didn’t move not sure what the problem is

    Are these trips generally speaking accurate with exposure after all these years even after cla? Do you test the exposure? That light meter would worry me personally. Do the springs get tired on these models?

    Could you please do a refurbishment video for the Olympus ECR? I want to be able to clean the lens properly, but I can't find any good references.

    Hi, I have a Konica Auto S2 with what looks like dust or the beginnings of fungus in the lens. Do you know whether the 4 individual groups can be taken apart for cleaning after I unscrew the lens assembly, or is the assembly glued together?

      The fungus is pretty much always on the inside surface, and is easy to remove if you take off the front lens element. I have a video on my channel somewhere which describes how to unstick a shutter on an S2 or similar camera, you can follow those steps to get the front lens off and clean the inside.

    I lost the focus position when I went to disassemble it, how do I put it back?

    I have 2 issues with mine: 1. the film counter is not returning to 0 when the door is opened. 2. The red flag is not rising into the viewfinder in low light, the meter is working and the little needle is moving in reaction to light, when in low light the needle is out of the way of the rising mechanism and on pressing the shutter release the mechanism rises slightly but the flag only comes to the base of the view window. I can manipulate the bar to move it into the viewfinder but it takes a little more effort that depressing the shutter provided.

    Hi there, I have this same camera, I opened the top up, to see if the selenium cell was working, but the little needle doesn't move. Could the selenium cell be fried, or are there any other options to get it working?

    • @japanvintagecamera8869
      @japanvintagecamera8869  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the needle isn't moving the selenium cell is probably bad. Unfortunately, the time, trouble, and expense of replacing the cell would be more than buying a camera with a good meter,

      @@japanvintagecamera8869 So there not another thing that i could do that maybe would help? One thing that i noticed is that the needle dosent move all the way to the viewfinder, even if i thinker with it. Could something be blocking it?

    Hello, do you know where can I find the selenium cell replacement for the Trip 35? I broke the black wire when I was reassembling the camera after cleaning. I tried to resolder the wire and I messed up the cell. I searched all over the internet and can't find a replacement cell.
