I cant think of a better company with a better product on the tri market and also there value for what they give, the industry really needs to lower prices on these tri bikes to give consumers a chance to try out this sport to see if they like it
Their bike is nice. Theres other manufacturers also offers good price for entry level rigs. However by next year, Decathlon will be releasing to market their VanRysel XCR and current demo displayed bikes, they look impressive
Hard to compete with Canyon direct to consumer pricing. Hard to find anything close to that price with those wheels. Close alternative would come with alloy wheels.
Four possibilities: 1) Argon 18 E-117 with SRAM Force eTAP AXS is $5000, rims aren't quite as deep, doesn't come with bento/additional storage but otherwise a similar overall bike. 2) Vitus Auro CR Disc SRAM Force eTap AXS was £4,699.99 but didn't come with bento/additional storage. 3) Ribble Ultra Tri Disc - Sport with Shimano 105 mechanical is £3,799.00 or £5,399.00 with Ultegra Di2. 4) Giant TRINITY ADVANCED PRO 2 with Shimano Ultegra mechanic is $4000, comes with alloy wheels because you'll use your own - so call it $5300 including Winspace Hyper.
one those bikes lookk so nice, I love orbea bikes and too the cheapest one I saw was 105 di2 for 7k still better then the ones I mentioned but also still expensive for entry
GC thanks for review. I had a Fuji D6 and that was a terrific bike. Now I have this Canyon and specs, price, ride and quality is hard to beat when comparing to other brands. As I have move up in age group this bike keeps me in line with guys 10 years younger. Bike is fast smooth and pretty. I'm sold!
Genuine question, why are Tri bikes cheaper than normal road bikes (equally spec'ed) when it's more aero, and has more carbon material? Yes demand is the easy answer but it also shows you how much we're getted hosed.
I have no idea, maybe like you said the demand is not there, but no lie, specialized tri bikes are more over priced then there road bikes, I think this is more of a canyon thing
would you recommend a M or L frame for someone who is 6 ft 3. ? Medium is up to 6 ft 2 I believe .. thinking a large may be better but heard smaller frame may be better ? What would you say ? Thanks
As someone who has 2x Quintana Roo bikes, a PRSix on the trainer and a PRSix2 race bike, I can’t stand that I’ve had 3 problems with them in 4 years…. PRSix had a seat post spacer issue and they wanted me to use a micrometer to measure the spacers before being warranties, then, I had a stem slipping issue and recorded me torquing the head bolts down exactly as spec’d 7x, hopping on and watching the bars rotate 20* down. Both with and without carbon paste. The stem issue is now a problem on my PRSix2 and they won’t warranty it slams say the base bar is out of spec. It’s a PD Aeria Ultimate carbon, same one they used in their builds…. So, I’m going up on them, I have 0 faith in their products.
I admit as a German brand, they have some really good designs in the industry. The price range between different tiers makes sense, and they still keep rim brakes in their lineup. But I had a REALLY TERRIBLE customer service experience for a bike (& parts) delivered to me in Canada, having tons of serious QC problems (cracked frame, delaminated carbon cockpit, burrs on tools, inaccurate hole drilling on seat post parts). I waited 6 months for the bike to get delivered, and after I found out the problem the second day of delivery, I spent another 6 weeks trying to talk them through and get a resolution. But what I got from them was slow reply which takes longer than a week, tons and tons of back and forth, constantly avoiding answering all my questions, employee serving Canadian region doesn't know English at all (email reply makes absolutely no sense, I didn't even know what they meant), and inconsistent or even contradictory resolution plans. I ended up getting out of the shit hole by losing $100-ish CAD of tax & duty service fee (with an additional few months of waiting for Canadian custom to refund me the $1000 CAD tax & duty I paid.) I'd say unless you live in EU or US (which they have another warehouse and different crew) or you just really like their design, you like it so much that you are willing to take the risks, I don't recommend them AT ALL, especially if you are choosing them because you want to buy bikes for cheap. Doesn't worth it.
I hate to hear but also love to hear it at the same time, for a omcpny that seems ot do everything right I love to hear that they lack in customer service, thats where we can still shine, you know when u buy abike from a store you can go in there not leave until u get an answer or a solution
I still think of Current bikes the Giant Trinity can't be beat. Top level performance at a lower price. Bike Exchange (or whatever they are called now) have shown with the cadex wheels it is one of the best TT packages on the world tour & it was ridden to victory at Kona last year against an array of wild bikes (including Giants own Cadex frame) and newer designs showing it still cuts the mustard.
@Laurenz because you need disc brakes at Kona or on most TT courses where you just need to scrub enough speed to make the corners while maintaining the most momentum possible.
Canyon is growing fast 2 year ago nobody had a canyon it was annoying no shop didn’t want to work on it now when I go to local races everyone rides canyon like easy in a field of 80 people 15 people ride canyon aeroad
Same with TT bikes in general. Since the swap to disc brakes lots of cheaper manufacturers (uk) have dropped out - it’s such a shame. How can anyone get into it without forking out thousands….seems counterproductive.
Hahaha definitely not Cube 🤣if you live in the US. The QR could be very competitive but the cockpits are rubbish - and people have a hard time re selling them ( which is important for all the 1 and done triathletes out there ). I tried for long time to seek a bike outside of Canyon for Triathlon but its nearly impossible for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. People sh*t on Canyon for availability but I couldn't find most* other brands anywhere else. Seriously though, Specialized, Cube, BMC, Cervelo (list goes on) It definitely seems like they don't put too much effort of care into Tri bikes (selling or competing), which is sad for all the great shops out there that could be selling them.
Do it! Google F1 neck exercises. I had the same problem, but after I've added the neck exercises into my training program i experience way less issues.
Give us that marketing pitch we can't read ourselves on the webpage and specsheet... Also, it's inzerrsting that all other brands match their prices to each other, seemimgly ignoring Canyons existance. But customers don't.
Yeah, it's a good package ... 5000$ gives you a decent, fully-equipped bike. If you want a tri bike, you're definitely not the occasional weekend warrior and more willing to spend that amount of money for your riding than a pure hobby rider. Electronic shifting also makes way more sense in such a setup than on a normal dropbar bike. There's nothing uglier than entry-level tri bikes with shallow alloy rims, the entry Speedmax CF has 11-speed 105 R7000 mechanical and DT Swiss P1800 wheels for around 3000$, so the bike show here is significantly more value for the money.
I have os many customers coming into my store al the time with the first statement saying, "i am looking to getting into triathlons" and then the only bike I have to offer is 5000 its crazy we use to sell giant alloy bike that was 1500 bucks for a nice tri bike, what happened to those
Good luck getting a tri bike from Canyon. Their website is completely misleading, "coming in spring", then "coming soon", then disappearing, then "coming fall", then "coming soon". They seem clueless. If they don't know when it's coming, say so. Be honest.

very nice!!! giant offers a great value
None of those have the marketing and premium brand. Canyon is the choice of the greatest of all time. And Kona winners.
The giant is rim brakes right ?
@@davidkaplan5517 giant is good enough for Gustav and Blum. And it’s cheaper then a canyon equivalent
Orbea is pretty decent in this space, especially considering the ability to choose specific components that other manufacturers lock into the spec.

Ribble have some cheap tri bikes here in the UK
Ribble is indeed a very interesting brand and costs About the same.
thats nice also cube bikes
Who is more dope, Canyon TT bike or Collin Chartier?
hahahhah
Good luck finding one though - especially in Large size. Canyon really struggle with stock consistency.
Ventum makes the Ventum One triathlon bike with some really fancy frame designs. Starting around $7k
yea ventum is starting to come on strong, they have a nice face with lance to push the product
@GC Performance please review Cervelo P5 of the technical specs. Thanks
okay I wil try to get my hands on one thank you

Collin Chartier: nope! EPO does

What model is this one again? Have been trying to find a Speedmax cf but always out of stock and “coming soon”!

Do you see a way to route that front brake tube internally? Would look great if it wasn't there.
hahahha
Triathletes hate cyclists. Triathletes hate bike shops. Canyon hates bike shops. They're perfect for each other.

Yeah but no disc brakes

They sell it at IKEA.

Same with TT bikes in general. Since the swap to disc brakes lots of cheaper manufacturers (uk) have dropped out - it’s such a shame. How can anyone get into it without forking out thousands….seems counterproductive.
yea it makes no sense, there needs to be a cheaper price point for this, back in the day these ocmanies had alloy bikes at like 1500 2000 price point
Giant is the only brand that comes close on value
yea I was gonna say the giant alloy bike back in the day was 1500 bucks for a tri bike and it was such a big seller for us

I don’t see this bike on canyons website fir $5k
I think felt might have the strong hold
felt is nice but the prioce for electronic is still 9000

GC who the hell did the brake cables on this bike? It’s atrocious!!!
It's done on purpose on TRI bikes to make them easier to disassemble for travel.
hahahah it came outt he box like that strait from canyon, thats what u get with direct to consumer
why is the cable of the front break not integrated - shame on you cayon!
