    thank you for showing details, such bikes are often poorly presented on the websites. i am very jealous of many tri bike features that I feel we should have on at least endurance or gravel bikes, such as storage options

    • @cyclingunboxed
      @cyclingunboxed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never really thought about it but yea, I don’t know why they don’t feature on the gravel and endurance bikes? Do you think it’s because they assume people like to bolt and tie on their own bags with those bikes? Definitely a missed opportunity.

    • @Carftymk
      @Carftymk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cyclingunboxed No, I think people overwhelmingly prefer bolt-on top tube bags when given the option and I don't see why it would be any different elsewhere.
      I think UCI regulations might be partly to blame for the lack of storage and bikes are definitely designed with racers in mind, often to the detriment of 99% of cyclists.
      I'm a big fan of some of the solutions some brands have been trying, like the downtube storage (checkpoint, orbea terra, spesh roubaix, enve melee etc) and of the boxes on the new cube litening or on the bmc timemachine road if you know them. or even some inspiration from tri bikes, such as the cage mounts on the seatpost you presented, or more radically the shiv box.
      i think there are many storage options we could have, some may be terrible but i am certain they would be great for the average non-racer.

    Thanks for the video and the details. Since there’s (almost) nowhere to see it before buying, it is always nice to get some feedback and insights beforehand. The color is also different VS the website.
    Something I haven’t figured and you may have the answer to. Is the food storage a removable piece? (i.e. can be easily cleaned if it’s getting gels or food).
    Last question, how does the ride feel in terms of stability? This may be silly but I have the previous version and I feel like the aerobars are more stable since on each side and not in the middle as one single piece (hope this is clear 😆).
    Thank you

    • @cyclingunboxed
      @cyclingunboxed  ปีที่แล้ว

      The food box does not come out unfortunately but should be easy enough to clean with wipes.
      Unfortunately this was a friends bike so I can’t give you a good review on how it rides.
      I have a mono riser on my orbea Ordu. For me it doesn’t ride any different or feel less twitchy. I hope that helps.

    May I wonder what frame size it is, what sizes of the Handlebars and Extension bars are you running and what is your forearm length?
    Many thanks!

      The frame size here is M. Unfortunately this was a friends bike that I filmed so I don’t have those details to hand for you. The canyon website does have all that information on their geometry section on the bike.
      I hope that helps

    • @cyclingunboxed
      @cyclingunboxed  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is the only option for this bike.
      The only way you could semi get the look is by changing to the aerocoach handlebar but that only splits at the top into 2 bars.
      I feel as you get used to it though, it’s starts to look better

    So, I’m selling big my 2 TT bikes for this one (long story), but what I love is Canyon gives you everything you need and you know you have everything because it’s shipped direct to consumer. Do you have any clue how many TT bikes come with Profile Design base bars and extensions, and all the risers and bolts come standard yet bike shops don’t give them to you when you buy the complete bike from them, and have the audacity to charge you extra for risers and bolts during your fit? It’s such a scam its sickening. I never had the problem but I’ve known of shops locally to do it which is why I don’t go to those shops.

  • @lawor8

    Hi is it OK for non Triathlete to purchase a bike like this if they just want to ride faster? And what is your or the owner's opinion on this bike's comfort and power generation for longer rides?

    • @cyclingunboxed
      @cyclingunboxed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea it would be ok to buy if you just want to go quicker. It would benefit you more really if you do have specific events such as time trials or triathlons though. It’s safe to say a road bike will always be much more comfortable. TT bikes have a fairly harsh ride as a whole. The TT bike is much more beneficial if you love somewhere flatter as well. You don’t get much gain when you are out of the aero bars.
      In terms of comfort, my friend has found a position that really suit him on the bike. The new era of triathlon/ TT bikes are all about adjustability and this one is no exception. It has loads! The comfort and power generation for you is all going to be how well you set yourself up on the bike really.
      I hope that helps.

    • @lawor8
      @lawor8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cyclingunboxed thank you. Would say this Canyon is the best one out there in terms of comfort and adjustments? I'm also looking at the Shiv

    • @cyclingunboxed
      @cyclingunboxed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t had a decent dive into the shiv so sadly I can’t confirm that one for you.
      But yes I would say this one is up there with some of the best adjustability. My orbea Ordu is another which is highly adjustable but no storage.

      I have a very long legs and an average length body. The saddle would have to go up a lot for me. The reach on the other hand was perfect when I sat this one. I wouldn't want to go any longer. He is going to use the spacers to extend the reach a bit more for himself. Apparently there is lots of room to go on the saddle height as well.
