- I thought I'd show everyone the best and easiest way to make a professional looking reinforced foam carrying case for any item you have.Works with Pelican and almost all other foam case brands whether its pick & pluck or not.
How-To:
-How to paint with Plasti Dip
-Best Glues & Adhesive on foam cases
-Curing times
-What not to do when reinforcing foam cases
-Make your case look professionally done for only $20
Supplies:
-Loctite Spray Adhesive or 3m 77 - $5-$6
-2 cans of Plasti Dip for a large case - $5-$6
-Hot glue gun
-Lint Roller
-Gloves
-I'm using a Plano 42 inch Case

Doing mine now with liquid flex seal. Two thick coats to make the foam nice and durable.

I let mine sit for a day and a half after I applied all coats, before I ever put my guns in my case. Well a day later after having my guns in the case my stainless steel gun has black residue all over it and some of it won’t come off.

Thanks for the help! I’m currently in the process, just applied coat #8 and it’s coming along swimmingly. Can’t wait to see how good it looks once it’s back in the case! I have a 50”x13” case, and I used about 2 cans of Plasti-dip, if that’s of any help to anyone wondering how much they’ll need. I found that 3M no. 77 Spray Adhesive works quite well with the foam.
Also, might I add, that is a simply badass vector. 9mm or .45?

I see you have the annoying pick and pluck foam. But yet it looks like you marked and cut just like you would with solid foam. What's the trick to doing that without tearing the foam blocks apart? What did you cut it with? It looks really clean.
Yes i didnt like gaps with the annoying pluck foam so I used a sharp filet knife to trim those areas. If your pluck foam starts to tear then you can cut it after you use plastidip

The plasti dip will make the foam soft yet firm but does not harden the foam as long as you don’t overspray it. It will not mar the finish. I left my other case on the patio for a couple days to dry before I put in glass figurines for my sister. You just don’t want wet paint or the smell of paint when you put the radios in and it will be great

@@Mrjohnboy1965 if you use your rifle a lot then the pull/pluck foam will wear down and start to fall apart. The plasti dip essentially holds the pluck foam together and makes it a single piece of foam that doesn’t wear easily and wont scuff your rifle
Can you do this with the normal foam? Not just the pluck foam?
Yes works great on normal foam as well not just the pluck foam
I happen to have some clear Plasti Dip. In most videos I see people use black or gray. Do you think using clear would have a weird look after it has hardened?
Clear plastic dip was generally used as a clear coat for plasti dip. I am not sure what it would do, but im willing to do a test with it first before you use it!

Thanks for the video. Once the Plasti-Dip is dry with that many coats won't it scratch your gun and other items?
Plastidip is a rubberized coating. It's non abrasive.

I know you said "Use Masking Tape Around All Inside Edges".
Where exactly did you place the masking tape before you applied the adhesive to the back of the Plasti Dip?

Hey, basically the masking tape goes wherever foam was removed, i just applied it to any place that your items will touch while in the case to stop the glue from rubbing off on your stuff. Hope that helps
how solid is it after you have plasti sprayed it ?
My biggest concern is wanting to later cut a new spot for something. Have you tried cutting new slots in the foam after you plasti-dipped it?
I added new spots for more mags after the plastidip. I used a razor blade to cut through the plasti dip along the squares for the outline and then just plucked the foam like normal. It came out nice

Whats the point in this just wondering ?
The plasti-dip reinforces the foam surface so that the repeated movement of items in and out of the case doesn't wear away the pluck-n-pull foam along the edges they contact. I did this myself for my pistol range case and it adds a lot of durability.
What gun is the top one?
Kriss Vector (if its airsoft either gas blowback by kwa or aeg by krytac or Ares) and M4 stock

Overkill man. Just not worth the time and effort you put into this. These cases get banged up, dropped, scratched etc. This is a safe queen case. Sorry man.
