I'll admit its stupid that brass knuckles are illegal, there's really no reason at all they should be... but they also are an absolutely terrible weapon. Everyone thinks they're cool until you throw your first, full force, connecting punch with it and immediately break all your fingers.
Brass knuckles thing.. Honestly just about any weapon that can be rapidly deployed and is instantly effective is going to have some form of regulation, for instance butterfly knives. People don't give brass knuckles due credit for how damaging they can be, and while yes, their full effect is in the hands of a trained user, that is the same for any weapon. The main thing about knuckles, especially those shown above, wear as a knife leaves relatively easy to seal gashes and slashes, or even stab wounds which can be healed from rapidly, knuckles can fracture bone, and are known to tear off large chunks of flesh and leave ragged wounds that may never fully heal. Weapons are usually made illegal if the police don't want to have said weapon used against them. And brass knuckles are a terrifying weapon to be on the receiving end of, they are wholly underrated in how much damage they inflict. *Police do lobby for the removal from the public of any weapon they do not wish to risk confronting, in the United States firearms are an exception for the reasons you are already aware of and however you feel about that is your own business.
5:06 I have one of these. A fair warning. The compass probably will not work when it's clipped in. The blade has to be steel to be used against the flint. So when you clip it into the buckle, the knife is UNDER the compass pretty much locking the compass in place.
1) concealed weapon, classified as a "switchblade" Illegal 2) while not illegal due to deploying pepperspray, the method of delivery could be considered an escalation and have the user charged with intent. 3) Not illegal, can be worn under clothing. But the 'body armor' you're getting is actually just the vest, the plates that offer protection are sold separately. 4) Karambit, Highly illegal concealed carry knife. 5) Illegal, to wear it is to be 'intending to cause harm' 6) Illegal, Concealed carry blade. Seriously just carry a standard boot knife with solid construction. So long as it isn't in a place it can be drawn rapidly. those aren't illegal. 7) Illegal, once again. a concealed bladed weapon. 8) Not Illegal, but they're best kept in the glove compartment or near the drivers seat if you're in an accident. Otherwise a small chunk of ceramic or any blade will do the same job. 9) Illegal, they're basically brass knuckles. which are prohibited under law. 10) Not Illegal, but the average person isn't going to stop someone with a fucking slingshot. Just put in the work and get a concealed carry license for a self defense firearm. 11) not Illegal, but you still need to register it as a firearm due to it's projectile velocity. And using it for anything other than hunting will get you a quick trip to a jailcell. 12) An overpriced Tazer, and due to the voltage being so much higher than a standard one. It will cause serious bodily harm. Due to this it's actually illegal and would get one charged with intent. 13) This is a toy. not a Self-Defense gadget. If you think otherwise, you're an idiot.

Funny story. A couple of decades ago I was out on a hike in the Sierras in California. It was an extremely warm day, and I got to the top of a pass, just over a rock to the other side, and decided time for a bio break. Honesty here: back then I would be armed. Never know when you'll encounter a bear. But this particular stop required I drop my draws. And as I was there, thinking I was all alone, a huge dog came over the rise behind me, and lunged. I had no time to get to my selected defense, and by some odd miracle, the owner was close behind the dog and called off his dog just as it was in the air. The dog stopped, and my only worry was the state of my draws. That's when I realized all the special gadgets and arms you carry on the trail will never replace someone backing you up. I look at all the special stuff in this video, and not one of them can prepare me for my worst dog day on the trail. Thankfully all I lost was my dignity.

That first one is useless. You can't put it under your sleeve as it swipes out from the side rather than popping up. Because of this, it would get caught on your sleeve never making it out. It would only work if you wear it in a way where it's 1000% not hidden. Meaning it defeats it's own purpose. At that point you might as well just have a pouch under your sleeve that you can open via a string to drop down a normal knife. Not only that, it doesn't have a locking mechanism. Which means if you go to stab something, it pushes the blade back which takes away ~80% of it's potential penetrating force.
@@protoborg What they stabbed was fruit, which has low penetration resistance. Meaning you don't need much of any potential penetrating force. Hell, I can "stab" through I fruit with just my finger WITHOUT that silly ring blade (seen later in the video as a separate product) either. I never said it can't stab anything, I said it loses ALOT of it's potential penetrating force. By the logic you provided, you "can" stab something with a paper straw you get from mcdonalds and in "some" circumstances it actually will penetrate depending on the fortitude of the object you are attempting to stab. Hell, anything "can" stab if that's your bare to entry. A blade of grass can "stab" through tissue paper. Same could be said about a literally stick (that snaps easily) you find in the woods, even that would stab through that fruit. A locking mechanism adds sturdiness which gives it higher penetrating force meaning it will either not detract on hit and remain firm or pierce materials that have an even greater fortitude (or break apart depending on the build quality of the retractable device). What that translates to is it will have less resistance when trying to penetrate making it able to potentially go as far as going all the way through an empty soda can. Without locking, it's dampering it. Essentially adding suspension to the impact. This means less force pushed forward.
@@protoborg as he said if your wearing a Long Sleeve you have to pull your sleeve up Before you can activate the blade .. in the time I can already pull my blade and stab .

That's a nice bit of kit. Though for self defense I prefer the Steambow Stinger II. Half the fps so it's not going to be very effective against body armor, but it'll do fine against a home invader at close range, and you can get off six shots very quickly, then slam in another 6 bolts in a heartbeat.
None of this tools is effective if the user lacks the skills... Self defense tools are everywhere, a paper, a match stick to poke an eye Just do not panic in every scenarios
Anyone who has never used brass knuckles I can tell you, it’s not like the movies, you WILL hurt your hand, no question. You can hold them different ways but it is still going to hurt, either you palm or fingers. If the pain is worth it to protect yourself so be it, but there are many better options to the knucks.
A car antenner is mayby a better option than a brass knuckel. It dont hurt your hand and for your opponet its like being whip with a wire coat hanger. Also it can be compactet to fit neatly in your pocket.
I was a "collector" of some sort when I was a kid, after retrospect, the "weapons" or martial arts tool I had was a nunchuck and a brass knuckles, I also have those generic folding knives and the swiss knife but they're common as I thought they were so I lost interest in them. the nunchuck and the brass knuckles are the ones I often hold and play around with, and yes there was some level of pressure(aka pain). It was quite thin too.
Nonsense, you won´t if you use them correctly. They are supposed to be braced against your palm, if you hurt your finger you already used them wrong. You can even punch a concrete wall with them without hurting yourself. On the other side you can easily crush somebody skull with those things. I would be super careful using those.
the claw ring is more likely to break the finger of the person wearing it than actually injuring the person you're trying to use it on, especially if it gets snagged in the other person's clothing during a struggle. its effective use is very limited, seeing as you need to be making a fist and drawing it down into a person to cause injury. it is a badly thought out idea.
It's simply holding a knife in reverse grip. Nothing a very small amount of practice won't solve. You can also change your grip to a standard one. The hooked blades are great for slashing. Most attackers are looking for an easy target. As soon as you make it difficult or dangerous most will cut bait.
@@cesarramirez2935 There's not really any logic to that. Having a ring on the end doesn't make it any more or less dangerous for the person weilding it. In my opinion it adds difficulty to someone trying to disarm you because your fingers can't simply be peeled off the handle.
@@samuraibiker3793 depends on the ring weapon .. some will do more damage and if someone is able to grab it (if it's not a blade type ) they will just rip your finger with it.

This one had a few pretty cool items in it. Usually, I see these 'self-defense' gadget videos, and they're so full of cringe. Most of the time, the gadgets will just enrage an attacker, drastically increasing your chance of severe injury or death. Personally, I run a 2 part self-defense. Pepper spray for those easily deterred, and a 18+1 round 9x19 firearm for those that don't understand 'NO'. Fortunately, I've not needed either so far, but I always make sure that if I leave the house, my sidearm is on my hip, loaded. Sometimes I forget the pepper spray though, but I do try to remember it.
Screw that! A hefty walking stick is very effective as it can do serious damage while still being fully legal to carry around with you. 1) Jab the attacker in the the face. 2) Thwomp them on the head. 3) Run! OR 1) Whack them in the side of the head. 2) Turn and hit across the top of the head. 3) Run!
Knives are NEVER self defense. Self defense means to defend yourself against a greater assailant/through lesser or equal means as your assailant (a shield for a sword). The only time knives are useful is when the assailant is unarmed. . . at which point it's not self defense, it's just aggression.
@@ryangriffith1500 It really is. If its an excessive means, then its not a defensive measure. The only time a bladed weapon is not excessive (comparative to a blunt or stun weapon) are instances where a greater weapon is involved, like a gun, in which case, the knife would be useless anyways. “He put his hand on me so i slit his throat.” Thats not defense, thats retaliation. Ok, I take it back, there is ONE SINGLE INSTANCE: Attack from wild animal/zombie/drugged up person who might as well be a zombie with how they attack aimlessly in attempt to kill. 1:44 the fact that this gun isn’t allowed to be shipped outside the US has me wondering if they want other nations to resort to more lethal forms of self defense or that the other nations wont accept such a useful/possibly effective TOOL against attackers. if used and sold by responsible people.
Pepper gel isn't very effective, and is useless against someone conditioned to its use such as someone with police or military training, they won't do anything but sneeze. Also a simple gas mask or just goggles and a particle mask render it useless. It's an ok deterrent, better than nothing, but lethals are still the best way to stop an attacker and have been for all of human existence. If you insist on nonlethal that works, consider tasers, but again a trained person, a person with insulated clothing or someone high on certain drugs won't be affected.
The safe life defense is a amazing vest as iv worn it for almost a yr now however I can't stress enough that you have to wear something over it. As Iv been stopped by police twice for have a visible vest. A jacket or sweater tends to print more and overheats quick. So unless it's winter I'd recommend getting a carpenter vest jacket from Walmart or Amazon. Get one that doesn't look tactical as the whole point it to look non threatening. Another thing I wish I knew before getting a kevlar vest is that instead of getting a pistol rated vest it's actually cheaper to get rifle rated armor with trauma pads. It's a little bit heavier but it's more comfortable as you can get more of a breeze with a plate carrier then a kevlar vest.
It's become so dangerous where I live lately. Constant daily attacks from bags of bird feed, 2 litre soft drink products and folded pieces of printer paper neatly arranged on a table top. Thank God I can now choose from one of these ingenious devices to protect myself and family!

*Police do lobby for the removal from the public of any weapon they do not wish to risk confronting, in the United States firearms are an exception for the reasons you are already aware of and however you feel about that is your own business.
yeah knuckles are savage and I would rather face an untrained knife wielder than an untrained knuckle user...

5:06 I have one of these. A fair warning. The compass probably will not work when it's clipped in. The blade has to be steel to be used against the flint. So when you clip it into the buckle, the knife is UNDER the compass pretty much locking the compass in place.

Clearly you CAN stab stuff with it. They showed that IN THE VIDEO. Did you not pay attention to the video?!

@@sierraecho884 hahaha, you know absolutely nothing about this at all! Perfectly obvious you’ve never used them. Stick to BS and board games humpy.
the claw ring is more likely to break the finger of the person wearing it than actually injuring the person you're trying to use it on, especially if it gets snagged in the other person's clothing during a struggle. its effective use is very limited, seeing as you need to be making a fist and drawing it down into a person to cause injury. it is a badly thought out idea.

2) Turn and hit across the top of the head.
3) Run!
With the woke liberals running wild with power/corruption we all just might need a lot of these items!
Best self defence tool will always be a flashlight
And a banana.
Knives are NEVER self defense. Self defense means to defend yourself against a greater assailant/through lesser or equal means as your assailant (a shield for a sword). The only time knives are useful is when the assailant is unarmed. . . at which point it's not self defense, it's just aggression.
This is why you have two knives so you can plant one on your attacker.
@@stevedenis8292 You know what, fair enough. xD
@@Hadeks_Marow it's not that black and white though...
@@ryangriffith1500 It really is. If its an excessive means, then its not a defensive measure. The only time a bladed weapon is not excessive (comparative to a blunt or stun weapon) are instances where a greater weapon is involved, like a gun, in which case, the knife would be useless anyways.
“He put his hand on me so i slit his throat.”
Thats not defense, thats retaliation.
Ok, I take it back, there is ONE SINGLE INSTANCE: Attack from wild animal/zombie/drugged up person who might as well be a zombie with how they attack aimlessly in attempt to kill. None of these being the standard case you would buy a self defense weapon for.
@@Hadeks_Marow and if the gunman tries to rob me WITH a gun he will be close enough for me to go to work. Learn hand to hand so you can get to whatever tool is needed. I have no room to say anymore as I'm just someone still in a defensive class. I have some physical disabilities so i need to use any means necessary to get home. I've learned the gun but tremors aren't letting me feel safe carrying it. That's why I'm learning self defense and SOME knife training. Not saying you're wrong but based on everything i know/ learning is best to have something more than just a gun. Either mma or some other defensive tool...
nice video. a lot of these items are reasonably priced and make great gifts.

Ready
Check the laws where you live before carrying anything that might be construed as a weapon.
You might use one of these in "self-defense" and still face criminal and civil charges.
It can look like a real gun if you paint the orange black
remember, none of these scams are self defense gadgets, the real gadget is your wallet in their hands on your feet running
Anything that looks like a gun is dangerous since cops shoot first then ask questions

Imagine thinking a rubber band would save your life 😂
The safe life defense is a amazing vest as iv worn it for almost a yr now however I can't stress enough that you have to wear something over it.
Can you share the URL that you are referring to... I'm interested to buy one 🤔👍👍⁉️
You can strap on an AR-15 but don't you dare wear anything to protect yourself from an AR-15 - Go GO GO gun lobby.... lol
They can legally stop you for wearing kevlar...?
Imagine having to watch this from anywhere outside the US.
It's become so dangerous where I live lately. Constant daily attacks from bags of bird feed, 2 litre soft drink products and folded pieces of printer paper neatly arranged on a table top. Thank God I can now choose from one of these ingenious devices to protect myself and family!
