For many years in Swiss Cottage in London there stood a very large department store called John Barnes up until the late 70s.I was booked to do a gig on the first floor to entertain the staff. The party took place because the store was closing down and they were celebrating it's history and who should walk in,but ROY KINNEAR.He was making a personal appearance. What a charming man.I only met him once and here we are over 40 years later and I still remember that day.

Roy Kinnear appeared regularly as one of Terry Wogan's co-hosts on earlier editions of 'Children In Need' back in the 1980s.
Also, relating to his untimely death whilst filming, I read once that he really wasn't comfortable riding horses and didn't want to do the scene on horseback. Such a tragic accident.
Roy was a loveable character actor and is greatly missed.

I met him in the Summer of 88 just before he travelled out to Spain. He was signing autographs at the Surrey County Show. I was just a kid and totally in awe. He was so friendly and really sweet to all the children that wanted to meet him. Was devastated when I heard he died a month or 2 later. Have kept that autograph as a prized possession ever since.

The wonderful Roy was such a household name on TV when I was a kid growing up in the 70’s. So many TV stuff and I loved him in Man About The House and George and Mildred to name but 2 . Also TWTWTW which was so ICONIC
    BUT
For me of ALL the many films he was cast in THE HILL is at the top of my list
Why because I think Roy’s character was just Awesome and he played a blinder and it was Sean’s best film outside of playing bond and all the other cast were right for each role
Also because of the ‘stories ‘ my late father told me about his time in National Service from September 52 to September 54

How old was Roy? Paul, when he passed on
      ( Sorry didn’t read the message’s..
54.. That’s young, however I believe we all have our cards marked, for when we leave our vessels ( bodies )
Although it’s not the end, because we don’t die, it’s on to our next journey of the soul.
Many people believe it’s either heaven or hell. That’s just fear tactics from religions. Through deep meditation, I taught myself to travel the astral realms, this is where our soul temporarily leaves the body, but we’re still alive because of the cord that is attached to all of us.
Through deep meditation, breathing techniques, I found out we can do things, that were never taught in any schools ( indoctrination centers )..
The controllers don’t want us to know how powerful we all are..
Heaven and hell are just vibrational frequencies.
Higher vibrational frequency is activation of our higher selves.
Hell is the lower vibrational frequency, and that is the lower frequency where our bodies are in illnesses and diseases.
If everyone knew how to activate their higher selves ( activation of our pineal gland) 3rd 👁, you unlock your gifts

Tragic end. From what it says, he didn't want to do horse-riding, but the production company wouldn't hire a stunt double (to save money).
Great comedy actor who brought personality to every role he took on.
Had great parts in 'the Avengers) - with Steed & Mrs Peel. Also in an ep of 'Ripping Yarns' - with Michael Palin, in which Roy played a German Camp Comendant. Good actor!

Came across your channel recently and love it! I absolutely adored Roy Kanier in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. I could watch that film over and over! And have! Thank you for sharing this. Love your channel ❤

I remember him in late seventies early eighties British show "cowboys" playing a man who runs a construction company and three of his not so bright workers. That was such a funny but underrated show.R.I.P Roy, you were one of the best comedic actors ever.

I saw him on stage at the Savoy with Charlton Heston in "A man for all seasons". Also, the man who did Oliver Reed's funeral in Ireland did my mother's. Reed was in the film where Kinear died.
