    Thanks for the video. I’m working on a yanmar 3cyl. Now I know how to align to get pressure.

    Many thanks. The manual diesel pumps I work on are a little different because they are for stationary engines like the Petter PAZ1 and AV1 however from parts diagrams the principle is the same and this video explains exactly what is going on so it was very helpful.

    I was thinking about asking this question yesterday on what modification are done on the pumps and now it’s here. Thank you for explanation. I have second question, why you only work with 606, is there problems with 648?

    • @athalc
      @athalc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      zeomarmob OM648 is common-rail. Totally different injection and combustion chamber design than om606

    • @johanijohani
      @johanijohani 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On om648 you need big injectors, big high pressure pump and software to get same amount of fuel and power. Witch means at least double amount of money.

    • @MJPilote
      @MJPilote 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      johanijohani common rail is the future. Injectors cost just as much as the pump for 606, and you dont need a new pump before past 400bhp on on648. Besides you get better response on common rail than old pumper 606.

    How much hp it's possible to squeeze out of NA elements(100% stock everything) by just slaming turbo on and just rising prepump pressure?

    • @beautgrainger147
      @beautgrainger147 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some small differences between the NA and turbo engines - mostly extra oil squirters and some other stuff to stop the turbo engines eating themselves through high temperatures.
      I don't know what a safe amount of hp increase is but you can consider the om602 in na and turbo.. around 25hp, yet mercedes didn't think it was safe to turbo the existing na engine without some other changes for the internal temperature increase.
      I've got an om602 na with a turbo and intercooler.. it's still slow, just a bit less slow than standard.

      These elements are for an M pump, OM617 turbos came with MW pumps which use different elements, however, some OM617 n/a did come with M pumps which can be modified with these elements

    Do the 7.5mm elements get good gas mileage? Putting an OM606 in my BMW e30 and I’m looking to make around 300-350hp to the wheels and get really good gas mileage. Does the design of these larger elements sacrifice gas mileage? Or can they be adjusted to suit with an ALDA? Thanks

    • @idus
      @idus 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes because it will push the same fuel in for idle so just be easy on throttle and it will push the same fuel as stock. It just allows a lot more fuel at 100% throttle than stock.

    Can some tune be done to a merc incresing HP without the huge black smoke effect..... I'm not talking about going from 200hp to 650 but something to give the car just a bit more sportiness

    • @deanaustin7859
      @deanaustin7859 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yordan Sergeev if you have a mechanical diesel pump you can up the fueling on the pump and also up the boost and gain power this way without getting ludacris amounts of smoke if you have a edc pump you need to get the ecu chip socketed and remapped this will make the difference you want

    Do you modify the cylinder head along with fueling and boost pressure?

    • @idus
      @idus 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Usually these diesels are built for high cylinder pressures and the head gasket will hold double the power however going up beyond that you might want ARP studs and maybe a multi layer metal gasket.
