Oh nice the key is to put it in between that slot I had that tool and I was just putting it underneath it. Making it break. Saw your video and show you need to put it inside that gap. Thanks
No worries. I’m glad the video helped. To replace your broken ones Amazon has boxes of them for cheap if you are looking. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Nice and clear showing both tools. Thanks for explaining the advantage of the specialty tool even though it looks like a little more effort to snug it into the slot. It's clear why the specialty tool places less stress on the clip by not having a single pressure point.
You’re very welcome. And thanks for your feedback. I definitely try to use the cheapest or simplest tools but sometimes a specialty tool is required. I’ve also used this tool to pop many panels off the car, and also pop out some tight sensors. Very handy. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
The battery, for a Chrysler Dodge Journey, is located inside the driver side wheel well. I broke 2 of those fasteners trying to remove the wheel well liner. Went to the Chrysler dealership to purchase replacements. Two small plastic clips cost me, with tax, just over $10.00. So, my advice is put your money towards the purchase of the tool. You will always have it for future clip replacement.
Thanks. Those clips come in various configurations. Not all of them have a slot to help with the removal. In that instance using two screwdrivers will facilitate easier removal. A properly sized removal tool is the best way to go to protect the integrity of the clips regardless of the type of clip.
Yes and there are also Philips head plastic fasteners. My vehicle only has these. That’s why I only showed them. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Never too late to gain more knowledge. Now you can perform this task with ease. And least you didn’t find this method when you are 80 lol. Still got a lot of time to use this. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Because I got really good at using it before I bought this tool lol. Different people may prefer a different tool. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Amazon has panel popper tools like this one but with a smaller opening for small rivets. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe
These plastic clips get filled up with dirt depending on the location. 20 years of weather will make any fastener harder to remove. This video was filmed when my car was only 4 years old. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Yes these are a nuisance. Too soft in summer. Brittle in winter. Even with the tool sometimes they won’t budge. Either way hopefully you found the video helpful or at least interesting. Please like and subscribe
Agreed. But there is no going back now. Just gotta get the right tool and keep doing diy to prevent them from taking our hard earned money. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

What size rivet do I need for a .25" hole? 🤔
I sense sarcasm lol but it’s hard to tell in a comment section. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
6 mm is .24 inches, which is very close.
How do you remove small ones? I used a smaller flathead screwdriver but it just damages the rivet

It’s never that easy with a flathead, get the pry tool !

@BillOfAllTrades2016 I did I had 1 out of 50 come out nice lol. So I have 200 replacements coming in the mail. Gotta love Amazon
There is something really cheap about car manufacturers using these things! For the money paid they could do better!
