Re your 30minute delay. I had a pilot friend who had a saying that might help. He'd say, "I'd rather be down here, wishing I was up there, instead of being up there, wishing I was down here."
Nothing “pisses” me off is when the person behind you ask you to not put your seat back, however, when you get up and notice the person has their seat reclined into the person behind them.
I think he was making a comment on modern commercial airline flight and coach overall. Frankly, getting confiscated stuff in Sydney is what started at all. Anyone who thinks error line trips are easier than it was pre-9-11 are nuts. In the United States if you have connecting flights at a hub, it takes almost as long to fly as it takes to drive if you’re going with that within 750 miles. Every single aspect of commercial air travel is worse. Attitude of staff, food, drinks, cleanliness, on time, performance, lost luggage, damaged luggage. And the unreliability of airlines have connecting flights on time, makes it the worst.
@TerrArtist01 On a full flight from JFK to Orlando: a guy opposite me had a VERY nice guitar without a case, unfortunately he couldn't find a space in the overhead locker. He sat down, hiding it next to him near the window. A stewardess spotted it, couldn't find anywhere to put it and had it removed from the aircraft despite his protests. Last seen on my side of the aircraft in the hands of a very unsavoury looking ground handler... I don't know if he got it back or its condition. The guy was not a happy traveller.

Good for you that you choose not to recline your economy seat. But the point being it's a choice and if the person in front of you chooses to recline their economy seat, it's also their choice. No right or wrong....just personal choice 😊
I was doing a job in a chap in his 60s today, sadly he's autistic and epileptic. On leaving, he spots my 4x4 truck on 33s. He asks what engine, i told him 2.5 diesel. He then out of the blue told me MacMaster is in Australia and he doesn't like electric cars. I said, I know I watch too. 😅
I'm a recliner on long haul flights. Tall people can usually pay for more legroom. I recline slowly. Tall people have a lot of advantages in life but one of them isn't buying cheap flights with legroom.
Absolutely agree. In economy the seats should not be able to be reclined. There is little enough room as it is without having more room taken by inconsiderate people. I never recline my seat out of consideration for the person behind me.
Why is reclining my economy seat "inconsiderate" ? If YOU choose not to recline your economy seat that is your choice. If I choose to recline my seat that is my choice. If YOU DON'T agree with my choice may be YOU need to be more tolerant of other people and their choices. I am not responsible for your comfort, that was your choice when you choose an economy seat 😊
I don't think it's unreasonable to recline your seat on a 5 hour flight. I don't recline my seat on short flights like between mel/syd/bne etc. but I do on long flights particularly at night. The seats are made to recline. Pay for an upgrade if you want more room.

Yep! When I once asked the security personnel why this was the case, the response in hushed tones was "because we have a quota and you are a well-dressed, middle-aged white guy and we know that you'll be compliant and that you won't cause a fuss; those guys [nodding to said gangbangers nonchalantly sauntering past] who actually look like they need screening always scream 'discrimination', accuse us of racial profiling and become aggressive & confrontational, so it just isn't worth the hassle". Never once have I ever been pulled aside for extra screening in the Qantas T3 domestic terminal at Sydney., which I pass through at least a dozen times a year these days.
Flew Sydney to Perth a week ago, flight took off over 2 hours late so arrived after midnight. Taxi drivers not happy as they were losing money just sat waiting for passengers. Hotel locked up and we had to phone night porter to book us in.

These days, being a bit overweight at about 240lbs, I never fly anymore. I am old enough to remember when flying was fun but it certainly is the farthest thing from that now. Maybe they should start replacing prison sentences with mandatory flights on airliners.
I agree MacMaster, I'm 6'3", nightmare in cattle, I always book an exit seat where possible. If airline allocated, they should keep for the taller pasengers!
I used to go on a few trips a year I've given up flying now, the airlines don't deserve my money. The last long-haul I did was on Malaysian Airlines, they were so rude "we don't design seats for your height" said one of the cabin crew.
You call this a disaster? I call it self-inflicted pain. You knew exactly what the seat pitch was as you flew on this aircraft previously. You could have paid the fee to select an Economy X seat with extra legroom when you booked the ticket and at any time up until check in subject to availability. Sorry but I dont feel any sympathy.
Lee, lets be brutally honest here, your whinging about the lady reclining her seat (I would be miffed also, kind of a lottery) imagine the poor lady sitting to your right who has had to listen to you muttering away and complaining, she will be telling her friends, "I had to sit next to this whinging 6 foot 4 giant, vlogging in a squishy 737-800 for nearly 5hrs" lolz.
Lol. 😂 she was cool. I spoke to her. She subscribed to my channel. 😜👍🏼👍🏼Her son was sat behind and has a TikTok gaming channel. I always introduce myself and let them know what I'm doing. 👍🏼
Hi Lee, Flying a fair bit on work trips around Australia. I remember security would remove a tiny pen knife in your carry-on....BUT in business class, they would provide a metal serrated 4" knife for your STEAK.....??????
That problem you had at security over your small Swiss army knife well l was making a delivery to the domestic terminal at mascot airport and l used to carry around a small pocket knife and l entered via the loading dock and they had security there also and l emptied my pockets and the security person said you can't take that into the terminal so he held it until l came out l did get it back on return

In the UK we jump in the back as you can't sit in the front of say a London taxi type vehicle. We do the same in Ubers as it's a bit weird to sit in the front if you're on your own. What are you going to talk about anyway? 'You been busy?' or 'what time are you on till?'
@@barnowl. you can have a spontaneous talk sitting at the back too. Plus you can actually make eye contact through their rear view mirror. You're not going to do that sitting next to them as they should be paying attention to the road!
I never recline my seat if someone is behind me. The only time I’ll recline is if the row behind me is empty or if there’s a wall behind me so I can’t bother anyone. It happens to me a lot where somebody in front decides to fully recline their seat, it’s never just a little bit. Then I look around and see that nobody else has reclined. Some cabin crew tell passengers to put their seats upright during meal services. One thing I like about low cost airlines is that most of the time the seats don’t recline. At least then I don’t live in fear for the entire flight.
No sir, I do not recline my seat and neither does my husband or my kids. I know I could if I wanted to but I don’t want to out of respect for whose behind me ❤
We could all use some more Krispy Kreme Team Members :) And that certainly was a jaw breaker of a landing! Deserving of a 'I survived' tee shirt? Great video👍😀
52:30 What? The tyre was replaced before departure and you're complaining about a hard landing causing the need for tyre replacement. I think you might need a little sleep to get your brain cells resynchronization happening.
Get over the knife. They ask you at check in or when you did the self checkin. You had the opportunity to put the knife in your checked luggage. You obviously werent paying attention or didnt think the rules applied to you!
Taking away all the negatives, that was a great video. Loved the flight footage...by the way. If the earth is spinning at 1000 mph and you are travelling approximately 500 mph in the same direction... you should never get there 🤔.... 😂😂😂..Nice one Lee.
I went to Australia 40 years ago for a friend’s wedding in Adelaide. Afterwards I wanted to go to Sydney but couldn’t afford the internal flight so went by coach instead. It left Adelaide at 9.00 am one day and reached Sydney at about 5 am the following day. Not sure I’d want to do that now I’m older!
I never recline the seat - too conscious of the folk behind and how squashed and uncomfortable they would be and that was on 7 hour flight Toronto to Heathrow 😊🇬🇧
@@jaynejohnson2671 Maybe you need to be more tolerant of people's opinions, you've clearly got to much time on your hands replying to everyone's comments.

The crew usually ask that passengers do not recline their seat during meal service (at least on the many flights we've taken over the years) but this was rarely if ever enforced. Last time we were on a flight from Singapore to Sydney, the woman in front of me slammed her seat back just as dinner was being served right in front of the crew serving food and drinks. Didn't want to start a war by complaining but a quiet word from the crew to this insensitive nitwit would not have gone astray!

At 41.31 minutes, the coastal town with the large jetty you can see is Ardrossan in the St Vincent Gulf, sort of opposite Adelaide. The Island you are referring to at 42.47 minutes is Wardang Island off from Port Victoria in the Spencer Gulf. There appears to be one farm on the Island and in that area, it is more likely to be a sheep farm.
I flown over a million miles over 50 years and to answer the question - you can recline when permitted by the crew but it should always be done slowly and respectfully. Worse is people who leverage themselves out of their seat by pulling the back of your seat and then catapulting you forward.
There is a reason why seats recline , because passengers need to lay backwards to support their backs on a long flight and to feel comfortable , if people in the front of you recline their seats , you also can recline your seat , I have heard this rubbish before about reclined seats and I don't understand the logic about it . Airlines would not have seats that recline if they can't be reclined because some passengers don't want others to be comfortable in their flight if the seat in front reclines and the seat behind it reclines , you still have the same amount of space so there is nothing about respecting someone elses space at all .
OK mate firstly if you weren't meant to recline the seats they wouldn't have a recline option. What I would have done and I can't believe you didn't would be to ask the lady in front if she could bring her seat up a bit please, most people are fairly reasonable. Then I would of asked the person behind me if they were ok with me reclining my seat a tad. It's a lot more effective than just spending 5 hours whinging about it. There you go Daddy Long Legs, problem solved.😅 Remember that any landing you can walk away from is a good one. I would have loved to have done a vlog of my experience on Monarch Airways from Malaga to Gatwick and the crap experience that is Gatwick Airport (Yes I know Monarch went under, probably a good thing but BA aren't much better and neither is LHR) . 😅 Also, the Convict thing is getting a bit old dude, kind of like us making light of how the Vikings had their way with the French and the Normans to produce the British 😅😅😅😅. Also the reason the flight west takes longer is due to the Roaring 40s not the rotation of the earth, man you really need to do some more reading on these long flights.😅😅
Can I ask....If you asked the person in front of you not to recline their seat and they said..."No," what would you do ? Would you respect their choice, or would you be upset because they didn't do what YOU wanted? 😊
Hi Lee, absolutely agree re reclining the seat. I never do it and don’t think anyone should. Some planes now have non reclining seats thank goodness. As a Mancunian having lived in Perth for 50 years, I am enjoying your vlog.
If you’ve problems with your knee then cough up and book an extra legroom seat 💺 don’t blame the passengers it’s the airlines who provide reclining seats 💺
Two things I agree with you on. Airport security make it up as they go along there are no protocols and they play games. Most flights seem to end with the plane being slammed onto the tarmac as opposed to landing it. As for leg room - pay for exit rows. Those seats can’t be reclined either.
Most of the scenery you were showing on that flight was as boring as hell. I used to live in Australia for many years, and the only scenery any good was the coastline.
I'm 6'5 and never recline my seat. The only time I've paid for extra legroom was a joke. The guy next to me was about 5'7 and he hadn't paid for his seat. I think if you're over a certain height you shouldn't have to pay for extra legroom.
Hi, thanks for your entertaining videos. You asked for feedback so here's my offering. Your footage was great, I'm an Art Director, I know some things so, in my professional opinion, you've got a good eye. The optics are pretty good indeed. Your banter with your cohorts in Sydney were excellent. You had 2 nice guys showing you some of the delights of Sydney with their unique spin. Entertaining and fun. 👍 Your food choices were limiting. There are much better and cheaper food varieties than where you've been. You could have caught the train to Harris Park (25 min from Central) in the evening and had dinner in Little India (Wigram Street) - that would have been a video in itself. Or, Cabramatta for a slice of Vietnam in Sydney, another video. Closer to the Sydney CBD, Marrickville. Just 12 minutes by train. The home of Australia's PM offers shades of Vietnam, Greece and Hipsters. Plus bonus points, a 'temporary' Palestinian 'protest' embassy set up outside the PM's electoral office, very interesting optics for your followers. And also Leichhardt, just 10 minutes from Central Station - a piece of Italy in Australia that would only add to a patina of happy ethnic diaspora, now happy Australian immigrants living their dream. Further, you did not recap on Sydney. Did you like it? Did you think it was overrated? What did you think of the city of Sydney compared to the rest of the word that you've seen in your travels? The viewers would like to know? As always, 'onwards'. 😄👍
Many of us suggested real Sydney food showing it's diversity. But he seemed to be more interested in eating fish and chips and telling us how it's not as good as the UK lol It's also crazy that in two weeks in Sydney he didn't bother to go to UNESCO world heritage listed blue mountains that everyone said was a must see. He didn't even go to the botanical gardens despite being at the harbour several times!... (where the gardens begin). He ate at all the tourist traps and then commented how expensive . Well duh...that's the same in any major city that I've ever visited in all western countries. We suggested cheap eats many times. Including a Banh Mi which is only $6-9 and quite filling. It's also bizarre that the only people to feature were expat Brits. Literally no one with any other accent appeared, let alone an Aussie one(same in Perth). It comes across as closed off and not open to new experiences or embracing and learning about another culture while visiting. Which really is part of what travel is about. He could've also gone on a cultural tour with an Indigenous elder and learned about some significant cultural sites around Sydney. Anyone from overseas watching, that hasn't been to Sydney, would get the impression that it's just full of white expats from the UK, which is not true at all. It's a real melting pot.
After that woman reclined her seat into your knees now you know why they took your army knife off you.

You could have paid the fee to select an Economy X seat with extra legroom when you booked the ticket and at any time up until check in subject to availability. Sorry but I dont feel any sympathy.
The rotation of the Earth has nothing to do with flight times, It all depends on the direction of the wind
Surely the rotation of the Earth dictates the direction of the wind.
@@MikeOxbrowne Its due to the jet streams at high altitudes
Also air flows from high pressure to low pressure areas & determines the direction of wind

The highlight of this channel was frankly seeing the guy return to the UK.

Hi Lee , it's really nice to see you do a Live Vlog for a change , Loving your content as per as well Xx
Make the most of the little time you have left Lee, gonna miss these blogs, but onwards to the next adventure and food vlogs.
oooh the knife was in your carry on, yup cant have that accessible on the plane mate

Tell me why do you always ride in the back seat of cabs etc in Australia its custom to jump in front and chat to driver, more legroom as well.
In the UK we jump in the back as you can't sit in the front of say a London taxi type vehicle. We do the same in Ubers as it's a bit weird to sit in the front if you're on your own. What are you going to talk about anyway? 'You been busy?' or 'what time are you on till?'
I am Australian, living in Australia and always got into the back seat unless we are 3 people taking the Uber
@@barnowl. you can have a spontaneous talk sitting at the back too. Plus you can actually make eye contact through their rear view mirror. You're not going to do that sitting next to them as they should be paying attention to the road!
Geez Mac, once you get started you really live up to the old stereotype about a pom being able to whinge underwater.😂
More of a New Yorker that takes no CR@P! Lived there 12 years and we don't suffer fools x
You always complain about the legroom because you are 6ft 4 and a half, Why don't you spend a bit extra and get extra legroom ?
Wardang Island is at 42:43. Great video! Shame about the person in front! I'd never recline my seat as I respect the person behind.
Thank you.
never think of the person behind when trying to sleep on a long haul fight, if they don't like it, they can always pay for business class.
You obviously have not traveled by air very much if you call that a disaster. Take a Ryanair or Easyjet flight when you are home.
That looks like Wardang Island and Point Pierce in the Spencer Gulf. I don't think it would have been the same pilot.
Get over the knife. They ask you at check in or when you did the self checkin. You had the opportunity to put the knife in your checked luggage. You obviously werent paying attention or didnt think the rules applied to you!
They are jobsworths. The lot of em. Sack em and automate it. 😂
@@LungsMcGee you obviously don’t do irony, do you ? 🙄
Taking away all the negatives, that was a great video. Loved the flight footage...by the way. If the earth is spinning at 1000 mph and you are travelling approximately 500 mph in the same direction... you should never get there 🤔.... 😂😂😂..Nice one Lee.
Lol. 😂 good point. 😂 👍🏼
Opposite direction on this occasion. 👍
Of course you dont go through duty free. Its a domestic terminal..duh..
Mate...a good landing is one you walk away from !
I never recline the seat - too conscious of the folk behind and how squashed and uncomfortable they would be and that was on 7 hour flight Toronto to Heathrow
😊🇬🇧
😅my mother in law doesn't even whinge as much 😅 as regards the seat i never recline as its disrespectful

Hope you put on accurate sub titles on the next video...as the bleeding ears may not have recovered by then from all of your whinging cobber.

I would not recline my seat 💺 as the planes are too small these days.I think seats shouldn't recline.
If everyone reclines, everything is equidistant. I'm reclining!
So you wouldn't recline your seat on a long haul flight? 🤔 Your choice, as long as you respect other peoples choice to recline 😊
@@jaynejohnson2671 Maybe you need to be more tolerant of people's opinions, you've clearly got to much time on your hands replying to everyone's comments.

You are in the domestic terminal. There is no duty free for domestic travel. Even if it is a five hour flight.
lee dont winge about the seat, if ye want comfort pay for business or first class, end of the day the seats are made to recline otherwise they would be fixed seats. sort ye long legs out stop moanin. lol

Depends on who you get at security I suppose....my partner had a metal nail file confiscated at Sydney in the past. So, just to be sure, pack it in the check in bag. 👍

I had a 'pencil sharpener" (a very cheap 3" folder, I had carried - usually checked - for years, on many world trips - I picked it up at a Plumbing supplier in the UK back in 2005) in my "pencil case" - literally - at Frankfurt FH- a few years ago.. The "Jobsworth's" there (machine-pistol (>1)- MP5, and all) -gave me the option to carry it back out the front to "check in - with an hour to flight - I offered to donate it instead.. Meanwhile as they were searching the pencil case - they totally fumbled over the equally long screwdrivers included in the pencil case contents - used to change batteries in my CASIO calculator - if it was so needed in exams/on-the-road etc.. Of course If I were to inflict inflight carnage an illegal and completely undetectable carbon-polymer box cutter would have been secreted in some pocket elsewhere (or use the Included Business class eating utensils (Steakmesser)...

You're a victim of the quokka curse. Disrespect a quokka by calling it a rat results in your life getting harder and harder.
Thank You
I hate flying with Qantas, always fly with emirates
I flown over a million miles over 50 years and to answer the question - you can recline when permitted by the crew but it should always be done slowly and respectfully. Worse is people who leverage themselves out of their seat by pulling the back of your seat and then catapulting you forward.
Worse is on a long haul flight and while people are sleeping their passing gas.
And the moral of the story is put any sharps in your check-in bag.
Love your flight videos.. but airports look a bloody nightmare.. love de window shots👌
we travel heathrow to vegas every year, and i never ever recline due to respecting someone elses space, especially in economy. winds me up
Good for you. You make your choice not to recline. But others may choose to recline....personal choice, so respect other passengers' choices 😊
I was surprised that there was no Air Bridge to board the plane in Sydney, but there is at Perth. Ummm! Great vlog!😊
First 14 rows get air bridge. The rest have to go via tarmac via rear entrance.
😂😂😂. Really???? You would sit bolt upright for a 16 hour flight and worse expect every one else to do the same.
If you’ve problems with your knee then cough up and book an extra legroom seat 💺 don’t blame the passengers it’s the airlines who provide reclining seats 💺
That security staff would've nicked that miniature Swiss army knife out of the bin once you were out of sight.
That is so ignorant someone putting their seat back😮
What's 'ignorant' about it ??
you should have told that security dude ...
"I`ll get ya!, and i will make it look like a bloody acident!"

People who are against the seat leaning back can shove it! Recline yours too and the distance is now the same. Grow up!

@@countryfuciusI agree with you. If it can be reclined then there’s no problems. Pay for business class if you think you’re above everyone.
Rather you than me. I did a Lochs and Glenns coach holiday which was excellent with absolutely no hassle at all. Went to Perth too!

The seats on all 737 aircraft should not be allowed to recline considering how small the cabins can be!

Your food choices were limiting.
Ha!!!! Thanks. I'm a professional Graphic Designer. :0) Well spotted. Yeah, need to do a comparison.
Many of us suggested real Sydney food showing it's diversity. But he seemed to be more interested in eating fish and chips and telling us how it's not as good as the UK lol
It's also crazy that in two weeks in Sydney he didn't bother to go to UNESCO world heritage listed blue mountains that everyone said was a must see.
