- In this tutorial, Keaton describes how to set up secondary audio recording with studio equipment.
Equipment List:
Microphone (Lapel or Shotgun)
Audio Recorder (TASCAM DR-60D)
4 AA Batteries
XLR to 3.5mm adapter
Studio Headphones
SD Card (Class 4 or 6)

Thanks for the tutorial! Why use the XLR to 3.5mm adapter instead of plugging into the 3-4 channel? Sorry if this is a silly question!
XLR cables produce cleaner audio than 3.5mm. They're better shielded from interference and make better connections than 3.5mm prongs.
Also if you're recording multiple mics gives extra options
is it good for voice over work

Hi there, great video! I was hoping you could help? I recently purchased the Tascam DR60 MKII (March 2023). I noticed on your video you are using an XLR adapter and on the video it worked right away. I have followed your instructions on the menu and also the hardware part (inserting the adaptor and plugging in the 3.5mm jack) but there is no sound passing through. Im hoping you'll see this message and provide some insight as to what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.
If it hasnt power by itself then buy a vxlr+ adapter or just plug it in the 3.5mm input
