I usually stayed away from Waikiki in the past too but, since doing Hawaii TH-cam videos and most of my community enjoys Waikiki content I have found so many free shows and events to see and enjoy in Waikiki. So much food to eat and all the people to see enjoying their vacation and the locals and visitors surfing. Glad you got to go up and sing with your friends, that's how we do it in Hawai'i nei right? OMG!!! I was in Waikiki that day! The Spam festival was so much fun (although I am a vegetarian). The music was wonderful, the vendors were fun! I love Oahu and I can see myself living there soon. The people are just so kind. The beaches are amazing. And of course, all the nature and beauty. Thank you for a wonderful video… Aloha oe
I was raised in Waikiki throughout my childhood in the 60’s. I couldn’t have asked for a better childhood. Surfed everyday, hung out on the beach at night listening to hwn music in front of the Reef Hotel. But my favorite hotel is the Moana! I loved surfing in front of it. We used to go eat Perry Boys Smorgy and we loved the Royal Hawaiian restaurant the Shack. We walked downa beach in our bikinis, no shoes carrying 9’9 surfboards bought at Longs drugs for 50 bucks (expensive in those days) with mouse ear. We never brought a towel cuz it was always so warm. Man , I miss those days!
Great video brings back memories. I was bum in the 60 there live in Waikiki and pearl city, The island always brings me back on vacations still torn about buying a condo or single-family home they both come with maintenance cost.
Fine Job I forgot I signed up.. 9/22 for Me 4* hotel.. Tell the Folks IF ur HC or Old u will do just Fine here.Buses,Zoo,ect Lots to do Easy Good Sidewalk but really not that much Old here..ALOHA Nice Lady😁😁😁😁
After I mean AFTER Covid Japanese tourist stop ✋ coming to Hawaii completely. It’s just too expensive to stay there. However I praise your effort to promote Hawaii tourism.
Video coming soon on that! Pros of living in downtown - convenient, lots of restaurants, Chinatown. Cons - very typical of any downtown in a big city (dirty, not a place to be walking around alone at night), parking’s expensive. A notable condo building is Capitol Place.
I'm a local and Waikiki is NOT what it used to be. High crime, shootings and mugging tourist runs rampant. Add the homeless sleeping on the sidewalks and beaches, liter and trash plagues Kalakaua and Kuhio. It's just not the same or safe anymore.

Loved living in Waikiki on the Diamond Head side. First few blocks are quiet. Kaimuki was my second favorite spot.Kapahulu spots.
