I am a local living in tyhe Seattle area. I have been on the mainland since early 1970's. So many locals have moved to the Pacific Northwest. Hawaii has changed so much. A rat race, very high cost of living etc in Hawaii.

Just because you mentioned that betrayers name obama.. you get a thumbs down.. he did so much damage to our country..

Lack of high paying jobs. I lived on both Oahu and San Jose, California. If you’re not a doctor or in big tech, buying a house will be very hard.

Pretty much hits it on the head. Born and raised on Oahu and too love Bend, Oregon. I especially shudder when people call Hawaii paradise anymore. It was close to paradise when I was growing up in the 60’s-80’s. Now I believe the main problem that makes it “suck” now is, way too many people!

So.Cal weather is 50’s at night. 70’s in the day We will be in Kauai for thanksgiving week. 😊

Thank you for da update!!! I didn't even realize how many buildings are going up. Eye opening. A lot of my friends are wondering what the City is doing with the roads. Pretty sure they are taking care of the pipes to avoid flooding in those areas and no sewer blowups. But the roads are still the same except for lane designs that are totally confusing. What will traffic be like in a couple of years. Might be seeing some one ways maybe. Who knows but they will have to do something. Extra lanes aren't going to happen no more room.

The UV index in Hawaii is nothing compared to living here in Nevada. It is easy to get a bad sunburn here in the middle of winter on a clear sky day with a high of 45°F.

Desert summers get really old really fast. In PHX we had 113 straight days over 100 and it was over 100 through almost the end of October and might have rained about 3 times. Don’t leave Hawaii.

Can you please do a video on the Property Management corruption and which one is the best? I hear nothing but negativity regarding Hawaiiana and Touchstone. Makes me want to never own a property since you are at their mercy for HOA increases and creating fake invoices to pilfer the HOA funds.

I moved earlier this year from Hollywood Beach in SoFlo because I was ready for my next adventure and currently enjoying the nearby mountain experience. It's heartwarming to see the palm trees and crotons in your videos. Looking forward to your upcoming videos and can't wait to experience the 🌴 island lifestyle!

Excellent piece. Thank you for being one of the honest realtors on TH-cam about the Oahu real estate market. The truth about Kakako and Ala Moana's newly built condos is that 90% + of people who bought these new condos after 2018 are taking a big hit on resale on top of many years of carrying % cost. The only people who make $ are the builders, especially HH. These builders command 30% of the contract deposit to lock you in. In other States, many Pre-construction condos only require a 10% contract deposit; the rest are needed at closing. The conventional 10% contract deposit allows the buyer to forfeit it for many reasons, mainly to lose their job or a down market. This brilliant publicly traded company has let the way of 30% lock you in; they are nothing more than a VC firm in an equity market. The VC makes all the money pre-IPO and brings up their company via IPO, and most retail traders lose money when buying them. So many buyers hope to flip these pre-constructions for a profit, not learning because no one is telling them the truth. Buyers need to check the reselling $ on all of these condos built after 2018 and will see basically everyone resold their unit lost money. You can touch on one vital subject. In my State, the existing management on a newly built condo only needs to hold their budget and monthly maintenance for 24 months after # of % the units are sold and closed. I have seen budget and maintenance shoot up 25-50% after, and this was before the insurance debacle.
