MMA isn’t violence, it’s an exhibition of human’s warrior spirit, which is why it’s called martial ART
It is violence
It's violence bro. Violence has a definition you can't finesse your way out of it
@@proxagonal5954 definitions aren't found, they are argued by people. I argue it isn't violence, because violence carries the assumption that harm is inflicted without consent. In the same way I don't think abortion is murder because it is a person exercising their bodily autonomy.
@@RedstonerD Yes, definitions for words are given by people, but that doesn't mean they can be given by any person: it's about what the majority agrees on. Google defines violence as "behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.". MMA fits that definition. In addition, any person you'd ask on the street would tell you that this fits the definition of violence. Therefore, the majority agrees. MMA being violence doesn't make it bad. Just because violence is usually bad doesn't mean MMA is bad.

Nah, most of them aren't top notch human beings. They are average human beings, some are "good" some are "a*holes" and most are somewhere in between just like in the normal population. And it's not ridiculous to think they are bad if you aren't into MA and only see how they beat the living crap out of each other, it's not normal social behaviour. You only understand that it's acceptable if you inform yourself about it, that there are strict rules to make it safe and fair, and both fighters are consenting individuals, otherwise, it's totally normal to think it's barbaric.
Ikr and her just saying "there has to be another way to resolve this" resolve what? There usually never is any real beef between fighters. Most of the time the "beef" is just made up to sell ppv. And even in real beef fights, there isnt any other way to resolve it. Thats just how we humans are. If somone beats you in a 1v1 fair and square mma fight. Man the older lady has a very twisted sense of morality, I really struggle to understand her at all. It seems she's found a way to believe herself a good person based on an idea that most people grow out of. The character and discipline displayed by the majority of MMA fighters is a much more authentic foundation for any morality than simply 'I don't believe in violence therefore I am good'.
Charles Oliveira's story is a perfect example. Raised in the slums, he spent decades mastering mindful violence to create a better life for himself and so many others in his community. I wonder how her beliefs would tackle that reality if she spent some time learning.
The whole "that's not normal" comment is actually so strange to me. Violence is the most innate thing to not just humans but any animal ever! Compared to that the comfort that allowed a part of the population to be able to deny violence is actually the not normal thing.
They appear to be presenting some of the KOs without context, which doesn't really help the reacters (reactors?) understand the situation.
Regardless, bringing pacifists onto a show called "MMA Reacts" is like bringing someone of an opposing political view onto one of the US "News" networks. Have it in an octagon. Not even fighting, just sitting down and chatting inside a ring
YES. Great idea. Someone well spoken would be good to do this type of thing. Michael Chandler comes to mind or even someone like Chael. A classy lady like Valentina Shevchenko or Laura Sanko would be good too.
On the other side of the coin, if you want diehard comedy, get someone like Mike Perry or Sean Strickland to do it. That would be comedy gold 😂
@@pchiethegreat1 get nate diaz lol
@@pchiethegreat1 damn yes, Sean Strickland, Mike Perry, Bobby Green and Wonderboy just to make things fun
Zach: Father Figure (secretly loves fights)
Laura: Mother Figure (cares a lot about the individual fighters and seems genuninely worried)
Ingrid: Mother Theresa (falsely wise, arrogant, ignorant)
I like the difference between Laura’s and Ingrid. Laura is quite sheltered, but she means well, and opposes violence out of genuine concern for others. As far as I can tell, she doesn’t think she’s superior to others.
Ingrid is a pacifist so she can (in her mind) be superior to other people without actually doing anything to improve herself.
Mother Theresa was very good at torture and causing suffering. I can totally see how a pacifist would idolize them. /s Calls sport barbaric, but doesn't even have a proper education .. -sigh-
Yeah Zach is a lowkey fan, pretends like he doesn't watch but probably knows all the fighters.. 😂
@@mackenziebenedict8403 yeah Laura seemed like a sweetheart. Like she understands that its a sport and gets it, but just doesnt like it cause she doesnt like violence. But she isnt bitchy about it as the older lady
The fighters they watched: athletes (blood, sweat, and tears)
oh god the title alone drew me in
Nice content.....There is no peace whereas no war(fight)...Whole Life is a warzone 😊
I'm a pacifist and if all conflicts in the world were to be fought in a MMA ring I would be the happiest person in this world. Thank you.
Are you aware what you just said would mean minor conflicts like you accidentally bumping into someone end with a physical altercation? Also there would no legal system because everyone settels their conflicts inside the ring. I am not sure you thought this through.
@@laurean5998 Yeah if you bump into the wrong person you won't wait for the ring to get in a physical altercation even with the current legal system. Go try.
@@laurean5998 i think he meant wars and battles were instead of 100,000's of fathers, sons, husbands, mothers, wifes, daughters dying, it reduces casualties, the best warriors fight the best warriors, its a primative concept as the fate of your people rest on your shoulders and bigger countries can bully every smaller guy as they can train fighters with high tech and diets, trainers, etc. But its a fun concept, like David vs Goliath, it actually has happened before, ancient war had one Warrior from their army fight one warrior from the enemy army and winner wins, neither will lose troops and perserve a lot of peoples life, Duels also come to mind, instead of suing or making an uproar, you defend your honor with a duel, you accept it then youre willing to die and know the risk, even so, the justice system fucks more people than a death match
@@laurean5998 Absolutism does leave holes but I think we all know what he really meant and what specific situations he was referring too.
It also depends on how you define conflict.
@@laurean5998 are you aware that you are taking it way too seriously
Only a warrior can choose pacifism.
Everyone else is relegated to it.
GREAT COMMENT. Wish I got to you first. The thought of really hurting someone permanently or killing an innocent makes me physically ill. Yet I have been boxing since I was 7 and now coach as well.
I dont know a single guy who wants a sociopath in their gym no matter how good they are. You take violent troubled kids and men in to teach them discipline and control, but never stone cold psychos. If those kids are great but you think they are going to go out and use it to do even more damage.
They are out and no decent coach wants them
a "pacifist" is someone promoting future enslavement
@@thegadflygang5381 Agreed. I always compare teaching a student how to hurt people better, but neglecting to teach them discipline and morality to giving a child a loaded gun.
Exactly, only strong men can be pacifists. Weak men are just harmless.
@@06capoeirista So if someone’s trying to end your or your family’s life you will do nothing?
"Oh and he's dancing.... oooh and he's out" hahahaha
that man isn't a pacifist he is a pass a fist
Everytime i hear someone say 'violence doen't solve anything' i know for a fact this person was never assaulted and never had to defend themselves
Seriously. Talk about a sheltered upbringing.
they dont understand the nature of the world at all. theres never been a time in history where violence wasnt crucial to the structure of society
Facts tho, like I’ve been mugged multiple times in college and I can tell you that being a “pacifist” doesn’t help, but to be fair I was a national boxer
What I don’t understand is how they can’t see the world from a different perspective.
@cw1859 bros not gonna tell us that war and death are good hell nah. Go home, big guy. Before we send you out to iraq.
I must say that "FUCK OFF HAHAHA ONE KNEE?" is the last reaction I'd expect from a hardline pacifist on the Masvidal v Askren bout. 🤣
Yeah- him at 3:30 had me cracking up- he loved that shit... 😂
'Fair play, what a twat' to the show boater KOed was good too.
The dude loved that knee haha look at the pure joy and excitement xD its contagious!
I would have loved to watch their reaction on Robbie Lawler vs Rory Mcdonald.
