Hi Joe! A couple of thoughts on your camcorder fixes...
Static - If you are tinkering with electronics containing any tiny circuit boards and components, it's a good idea to earth yourself to avoid static build up which can short circuit components. You can get anti static bracelets cheaply on Amazon, Ebay etc.
Secret Door - My own (amateur) guess would be that's an engineering diagnostics panel you've removed, which allows access to the back of the circuit boards for running diagnostic tests that would usually be carried out by the manufacturer or authorised repair centre. It would need specialist equipment to do that.
Shame you didn't manage to get it working - maybe it will turn out to be handy for parts in the future.

Anyone know how to make the audio without earbuds like when you want to watch a video and hear it without earbuds

I have the same problem with my camera.
I managed to find out how to open it.
On top of the camera it says: "70X; enhanced optical zoom; 31.6mm WIDE; POWER O.I.S.
Just belowthis text is a groove.
This is where you pry it open. Slightly lifting the front (with the aformentioned text) and sliding the rear part backwards.
    Hope this helps.:)

Panasonic equipment are notoriously difficult to take apart....almost as if a priority in their design process is to avoid being taken apart. Unless you are a pro with pro equipment, taking Panasonic equipment apart is almost a guaranteed bricking process. Sonys on the other hand are much easier.
