Bought my brand new today but opened box can’t wait to start using this

Compared to electronic crap you buy on the market today, you appreciate the engineering what went into making the VCR. You cannot beat the nostalgia of hearing its mechanisms. I've always loved VHS & with the lid off my old Sanyo VHR-777E Video Cassette Recorder Nicam HiFi VHS I never get bored of watching the mechanics of it taking the tape out & wrapping it round the heads.😊

Another FS200 fan here! Acoustic pianos are notoriously difficult to record, but after trying different mic setups, I'm happier just using the built in mic for both quality and ease of use. However, with my digital piano I usually record directly to a USB stick just because I can, and its audio quality is excellent. But then I have to sync the audio to the video post production and, like you, it's an extra step I'd rather avoid. Many thanks, I really appreciated this video.

Thanks for the review ,i bought an FS 20 ,im gonna start using for my you tube vids ,ive bought others but the screen door connection have gone so im gonna give this a whirl it has the mic and headfone socket like yours ,in fact it seems identical apart from the colour and number , im not good with small electronics i know you can put new circuit ribbons in to repair the door screen ,im better with spanners and hammers lol ,i know you did this 5 years ago ,but knowledge doesent die. Most of these cameras on eBay have sensor problems. I have gone through 3 eBay purchases all have problems. Sony was aware of the ccd issues and for a limited time back then they were repairing them. Now it’s probably 10 to 1 that you’ll get a working one if you try to get one these days. Probably not worth the effort.

Mine gives no picture, only black, probably the CCD or its connector is dead. DVD drive, sound, screen etc. work perfectly. I keep it because it reminds me of floppy and CD Mavicas.

Can this camcorder record in interlaced mode (and I mean really obvious combing will be present upon switching to int mode)?

Nice video. I came across this camera after a bit of research. Pretty little machine isn't it. And it came out four years before the end of the dvd Handycams.

This deck is HIFI STEREO. There is a NICAM decoder, converting digital sound to analogue high quality sound on HIFI heads. VHS HIFI is the best analogue sound like digital audio. This deck may playback NTSC tapes on PAL TV( PAL 525 lines 60 Fields), with 3 speeds, with HIFI sound( if the NTSC tape is recorded with HIFI sound )

My mic doesnt seem to work? Won’t playback audio. I suppose it doesnt record it. Is there any way to fix this? There doesnt seem to be a way to use an alternative mic or anything without raking it apart and putting a new one in there. Which sounds like a gigantic pain.

This Sanyo VCR was actually made by LG Electronics, not an authentic Sanyo product. The last and final Sanyo 4-head Hi-Fi VHS VCR models were made in 2001, models VWM-690 and VWM-699.
