Update: With the newest patch, there is a more legitimate way of defeating the reaper. People are still finding success with this guide, but if this guide still isn't working for you, I've got another one coming out soon!
If your have the problem of the gems being to close to you, or you keep accidentally leveling up, make sure your first Arcanas is Sarabande of Healing (VI), then find the purple chest to get your second one Awake.
Well shoot this became the guide to actually help me get it done. Persisted a ways into 36 minutes too! Excellent construction and explanation and editing.
One more note: if you dont have to take the clover because you get all the other items before you need it you should get the area buff. Helps A LOT with finding the right spot on the death kill and made the difference for me! Otherwise amazing guide!

2 years have passed, and guide still works well :) A little bit more RNG is needed, so I would suggest to make it before you unlock multiple Arcanas or items. Good luck!
Got in second run. Just 1 tip to add: 1) try to get some chest at 10-15 to upgrade water and rune, help yo survive last waves. Plus u need to find Awake. So is doble win. I have 3 red gem on the map idk why, without awake i never reach the gems
For the life of me I couldn't get past the 25 minute mark, somehow enemies would pile on on the top of me outsife of the map and push themselves against me killing me instantly, I managed to overcome this by grabing some chests and upgrading both the rune tracer and the santa water, after that it was smooth sailing, managed to kill death on that run
3 times now, did not manage to kill it yet. Last run was an absolute failure, couldn't get the awake arcana in 3 tries. Keep trying I guess :/ BUT still an incredibly helpful guide, thank you so much for your work and effort!!!
Been attempting this for a while and based on this my positioning seems slightly off. Biggest problem I'm finding is if spawns die too close the XP literally just bounces into you making level 2 really difficult to obtain. At 3 as said in the Vid the Rune tracer is really difficult to keep static. So far 22 minutes has been my best attempt. Thanks for the guide though.

I don't get this. I did exactly what you said yet your video shows some sort of pulse going out killing things before they even get to you. How and where did that come from? As it currently stands I can get the runetracer and stand there, but things only die to the rune tracer (and sometimes the santa water) and I end up collecting the mobs xp and leveling up... I don't get it...

I dont know if it's just my computer, but at a certain point my screen becomes just full of enemies and my tracer seems to fade out of existence and then I just die. I dont level up. My positioning is perfect. Use a revive, try to reposition myself a bit to see if it helps and I just die. I appreciate the guide though. maybe if I were playing on a computer that could handle the activity on screen it would work for me.
I just did two tries. first one there was 3 red gems and when I picked them up I got maybe 30 levels then it stopped giving levels and I died. second try I saw my red gem went and did my thing. then at the 22 min mark I randomly start taking damage and lose my first life. I end up making it over to where the red gem was only to not find it. I got about 8 levels then died. so far this isnt working at all. the red gems are not working and I'm not getting more than 20 ish levels after 30 mins of waiting.
tried this a dosen times now and once 3 or 4 deaths start spawning i die becouse they push them into me last run i survived to 35mins thats 5 deaths... how long should it take to kill him? i get all the skills you recommend and dont go over level 2 until 30min mark and i see death what am i doing wrong ?
doesn't seem to work for me, around 24-25 minutes there are too much enemies, runetraces start (bugged? ) to become unstable and inconsistent and I die.
So I think with the new patch they added a permanent 30 magnet to this level even if you have zero points in it so it makes this impossible now as you always go past level 2.
Nah I still make it to the end without leveling at all when im standing exactly how the guide says to position. I did it twice today but both times the second reaper shows up and pushes the first out of the spot with the runetracers and I lose anyway

You'll probably pick up a couple clovers breaking candles to feed your cats anyway. I think you only need about 30% luck to make this work

If no gems are dropped new gems there xp are stored in the furthest gem. If you move you might create multiple red gems.

Managed to beat him on the fourth try, I did however banish the tome once it reached level 3 so lancet would keep the reapers more perma frozen

same, when the second reaper shows up it pushes the first one into a spot where less damage is going out and I die before I can kill it
I have everything I need and I place myself correctly, but every time witches overwhelm me and kill me

Magnet makes this so much more inconsistent. would advice against picking curse, growth and magnet

Reaper got stuck on of the bookcases and couldnt damage him enough to kill him. 2nd Reaper came in really pissed and took me down.
Why is your Runetracer emitting shock waves, it doesn't normally do that??

I have no idea who you do these, but they simply do not work for me. I followed step by step but the enemies just pile on me and kill me.
The reaper never gets into that nook there. ?He stays frozen for like two minutes outside the alcove. what do i do?
