I never thought I'd get to own one of these, but was it worth it?

Alpha Cool Radiator. EK water blocks. You got a steal of a deal.
If they used regular tap water there's be funky weird growths all inside it considering how old it is. Likely they used distilled bottled water, and a few drops of biocide to kill any critters. The dibers you saw was likely bits of metal from the block, rad, or pump.
X-99 is a really cool chipset,i dont know if that motherboard support it but you can install a xeon 2680 v4 for cheap and its a 14 core 28 thread cpu, as for the pump most d-5 are serviceable, best liquid to fill that loop is water for injections that you can buy from a pharmacy, also use two drops of biocide in it.
appreciate the info
It's a truly beautiful PC, of great value for fans of liquid cooling. The loop system is nice and the case is perfect without any frills of RGB lights. It's a real bargain, I wouldn't sell it and would keep it for myself to play around with modifications😄
Cool. Al you need is a TPM module and you can install Win11 on it. Also the the socket 2011-3 CPU can overclock like crazy.
Nice case! Did you remember to check for ROACHES? 🤔 🤣
No, I think he was too excited.
💀💀💀
I actually did this time lol... been way more careful lol...
Welcome to the CaseLabs Cult. . Family. . Keep it, you will regret offloading that case - still have my M8 but want to track down a BH2/BH4
Thats So COOL, CaseLabs Case and a Working RX580 in its Original Box for $20 easly triple your money on that one.
Just have fun with it..... Follow it where it takes you.
Nice score. X99 is still a great platform, I built an x99 system a couple years ago with a 5960x CPU, overclocked it to 4.7Ghz with a Noctua nhd15 so with water cooling and less cores on your CPU you can OC it even more, at 4.7ghz it performed almost the same as my 9900k at stock 4.7ghz, paired it with a 3060ti and got a very nice balanced system capable of playing any game a couple years ago.
I never liked water cooling even AIOs, got a liquid freezer 420 that I got open box dirt cheap so couldn't pass on it but it's in the closet and I'm using the nhd15 chromax in my main rig and nhd12 in my second PC.
X99s are fun to play around with or use for a test bench if anything too. I still have my Asus Deluxe that I bought brand new forever ago that I refuse to get rid of.
Exactly my thoughts - re - fit air cooler to the 980's,and use 'em in budget builds.
Originally from Fay, moved to Cary. Don't remember seeing that listing. Sweet pick up, sir.
he had it listed for like a month when I reached out
FB is weird as sometimes I have found with stuff like that.
I'm so jealous dude
I'm in Europe, they weren't as popular here, so God damn
you got me really jealous as a case collector
Agree, and am a little jealous too. I've built and fixed more than a few PC's since I dived into it 10+ yrs. ago. I stayed completely away from water cooling because to me the x-tra cost and maintenance outweighed any benefit over air cooling. But...I also never ran across a case like that and would probably feel the same as him. The setup inside looks all original from first build and I wouldn't have the heart to replace it. Even keeping it water cooled with a new system might be a little sad. Never done it, but from what little I have learned though, that tear down and cleaning might not be an easy project. But (if parts aren't fubar) I think I'd be worth the effort to try to get it running again as it is.
I can't wait to see the update. 👍👍👍👍
you can probably buy a second hand or new old stock cpu/gpu blocks pretty cheaply just to be sure no issues come later, i would also change the pump and the hoses are cheap too.
Nice going. Looks like it can be a good project.
Literally me zooming in on the listing to find “clues”.
One ad just said “computer” and it was a water cooled gaming PC lol.
you got a bargin there mate i payed more than the cost of that hole build for the waterblock and pump/rez i use in my backup PC (EK waterblocks + Thermaltake pump rez combo)
I have that Exact 580gts runnin Black Myth Wukong right now on an x99 xeon test bench. Runs beautifully in 1080 though usually playing on one of my real pcs.
A learning project for watercooling!, good luck and enjoy
Great case and excellent computer parts.
we want part2 xD
soon
No dust filters, and pretty visible effects of it.
The Liquid Cooling parts are worth well over $200, and the Case Labs case is probably worth that too. Also there is nothing wrong with cheap parts as long as a quality pump is used. My system looks similar and I used clear tubing. I've seen that symbol on the pump mount before but can't remember what brand it is unfortunately.
Bitspower
Ohhh. I would of bought it just because of the condition of the case. if the parts work its cherry on top
1:12 two sticks of ram that I see my friend looks like corsair veg…
The piece of tubing was wedged under the pump for acoustic reasnons.
What a awesome deal
You could take a ride down to the Charlotte Microcenter to get some good water cooling supplies on the cheap.
hopefully planning to make their some for some personal upgrades in the future. Heard it's pretty decent. never been to one before.
@1:36 That radiator is Alphacool and a very dirty one. 🙂
The channels in those blocks are the real worry.
@@MrWayne6363 Indeed im pretty sure there is something living in the loop. 🤣
From what i heard from some creators. The Caselabs case designs and brand were bought by a new company which will start making cases again in the future.
I'm not sure how this will affect the prices of older original cases
Never liked water cooling myself. I prefer something where there is less likely to go wrong. Massive tower coolers are my preference. Still it looks like a pretty sweet system. I also ran a GTX 980 on my main machine for years and they are still pretty damn good cards.
A paint job on it would do wonders ,
Make a nice standing server case.
muy bueno compra compa desde cuba
i want that for breakfast now
Couple of weeks before had found the CoolerMaster HUF case, with an EVGA 1366 E757 motherboard.
Darn, that was my dream pc then!!
But, could not keep the case, because of it's size!!
I think he had 3x gpu's originally and 1 died from the looks of things, i would say put an exhaust fan at the back, you could put another rad at the front but its not neccasary some fans would look good there though. yeah the red extention cable is odd against all the black. x2 GTX980 is pretty sick, not sure think the resovior might be bitspower which is fairly premuim. if you look at the top of the power supply it actually says 1200 not 1000 again thats sick dude. 2500rpm is a little slow for the pump but not that bad mine run at 3000-3500rpm just set slightly below max of like 4000rpm.
Good Luc
Love the case
I think i heard you say $20 great deal for a 580 a few possibly too many times 😂 i did the same thing in a recent video i made and had to edit and reupload.
I subbed, good stuff!!
I see something familiar next to your test bench a HP Z2 Mini workstation I have a pair of these and speaking of cases and being heavy I just picked up a HP Omen X and man are those things heavy almost 40 pounds in US English and like the caselabs rare and worth good money when you can find them especially in Australia.
X 99 was and still is a good system base to start with
Subbed man 👍😎
nice score man
BTW it's not Case Labs case that's heavy.. it's all the water still in the loop.
I know this isn't PC related but that is a nice clean truck haha where i live there all rusted or beat to heck here 🤣 but great video thank you for sharing!
thanks!! southern truck mint with 171k miles all original!!
I had no idea you were also local to NC 🤩🤩
Me either, I have been in GA for a long time, but lived in Fayetteville and worked in RTP for years, back then the commute was under an hour
yup lol... been here way too long though lol...
Good search
Ooh a cleaning montage in the future🤔😶
Hopefully you get the RGB case make everything faster ROFL
The shortband long on ek is they havnt payed suppliers or some staff and one of the higher ups was fudging the books.
You might want to test the pump in isolation.
I am curious to see what is the condition of the channels of the three water blocks.
Did you blow out the radiator?
One thing about the case as is the lack of any airflow, this could impact the VRMs, SSD, etc.
Thanks for another interesting video.
I show all that in the next video on this
I’d recommend never going to Cary, NC 😂
EK is getting hate for not paying employees, distributers and other contracts. It seems like some of the top people are embezzling or mismanagment of money.
Also, yes. Your Chevy Pickup Truck, with a Flatbed. Was designed to carry cargo, in the passenger seat.........
I love your videos
thanks
Always put a towel there
Radiator is Alpha Cool brand
case labs cases are a good buy because the company no longer exsists
this is true but they have always come at a premuim price tag from new, the rarerity doesnt really make much of a difference, as much as the quality, premuim build and finish and unique design and enthusist market.
MSI 480's and 580's are the worst out of the box, they run full out max temps due to their software over volting them by default. If you go into the MSI software and drop the volts on step 7 down to 1.1 or 1.0 then .10 increments all the way down to the step 3 setting you will run good temps with no or very little performance loss. Not sure why MSI did this but even the latest driver package for these cards still defaults them to 1.3v which will put this at 90c in most games right away and the fans will spin themselves to death. MSI has some of crappiest cooler options and these cards are amazing enough to warrant a liquid cooler mod. Just make sure to undervolt these cards or they will fail fairly quick in modern titles. Repaste it too, looks like no ones been inside it as the tag is undamaged. Repaste then undervolt slightly, I found 1.1 (1100) on step 7 works great and is stable then drop .10 on each step down to 3.
Me thinking you’re driving in a very familiar area, but in reality it’s somewhere else in the country.
the MSI card, same one ,, RX570 4Gb beat a 1070 8Gb in linux
I bet your CPU waterblock is plugged up but good, and most likely burned out the pump
everything was plugged. then next video will show it all
Badass setup except the SLI. That was such a gimmick. I did it and really saw no performance gain because most games didn’t support it back then. Wasn’t worth it.
agreed
9:39 are you sure those are 980s? 900 series cards don't use double connecting SLI bridges like that. I had a PC with two 980's in SLI but only used a single bridge connector, but that SLI bridge is meant for 3 cards so... w/e. usually i see that on 1000 series cards.
yea they are 980's
i understand the versatility of caselabs cases but i personally dont like them, they look more server like than a desktop case

Sorry, didn't see the ram on the other side
Watching this with Saturday morning breakfast and of course my wife is like (why is that booster seat in the front of the truck)

@@DLMtechgarage 😂 I totally understand that.
No water near my desktop :) Air cooling fro life :)
Oh,THAT DIET.

☹️
my case is as big as that one but not as cool looking!
I stay away from water cooler, too much can go wrong
