Fast forward to the email about the changes. Annual fee increase it was a bit of a sticker shock. The Grubhub credits make things easier for me as I tend to dine out more than I should. May keep the card, need to run the numbers.

Merchant gift cards that aren't cash equivalent (i.e., non-VGC/MCGC) would be interesting. YMMV on risk tolerance, but I can't imagine Amex being angry about you buying a $20 Chipotle gift card.

Would probably get the Ink Business Preferred for the 2nd year onwards given the simplified structure. Would love to hear your thoughts in a dedicated video on the Business Platinum. The massive elevated offer right now is appetizing but the credits are a little too similar to the personal platinum that they may not be enough to justify the card.
I literally just got the card Sunday and it should arrive in the mail shortly because of the 4X on flights booked directly with airlines, ☹ and you can't book Southwest from the Amex travel portal. Definitely going to downgrade in January.

The Platinum card and Business Gold just have to be selected to pay for the monthly Walmart + subscription. You can use any card in your collection to purchase items online and in store. I have the US Bank Shoppers card which gives me 6% back at Walmart, so I use that. Before getting the US Bank card I’d use a 2% back card such as the Blue Business Plus card.

for a business card, a Sam's Club membership would make a lot more sense than Walmart+. I think Amex is going to see a MASSIVE number of cancelations of this card...maybe that is why they are doing it? Hope they don't raise annual fee on the personal Gold but can see it coming as well as see forcing the amex portal on other cards vs direct to flights or hotels.
I used this card solely for shipping. Now will just use solely for Ad spend. There aren't enough cards out there that have shipping bonuses so this sucks.

You shouldn’t do that unless you’re trying to mess up your AmEx relationship. Wait out the year.
Wait out the year and just cancel. Downgrading within the first 12 months can raise a flag for abuse / might cause problems for popup jail.
