Her performance in Boogie Nights is incredible. The scene with her and Julianne Moore blitzed on coke and rambling, as well as her inevitable breaking point in the limo are standouts.

I’m 37. I discovered this movie when I was around 17 in 2003. I already knew Heather from Austin Powers 2 (and she inspired quite a bunch of self love sessions). But when I saw Boogie Nights I fell for Julianne Moore (damn, still simping for her) and seeing her with Heather blew my mind.
Haven’t watched it since. And now you say there’s my third favorite girl involved (Mrs. C White, who I discovered in my early 30s), I think that rewatching BN would either blow my brain or my nuts haha 😆 and

We had recently gotten what my mom referred to as "fancy cable", which was just digital cable from our local media provider. I, too, had discovered her through the Spy Who Shagged Me, and she was most definitely one of the highlights of that particular installment.
Yeah, being a teenager while watching some of those steamier scenes in BG was an exercise in self control, to say the least😂

But seeing her make out with Julianne drove me nuts. Btw, I rewatched Shagged about a month ago, and it still holds up. Maybe the one time (apart from SNL) where I legitimately found Will Ferrell funny. Also, Heather still made me hard AF haha

You mentioned quite a few of Heather's most obscure projects, but it's a shame that you missed "Gray Matters". It's a comedy with Tom Cavanagh, Bridget Moynahan and Molly Shannon. The premise is a bit silly, but as the movie progresses it becomes a story of self-discovery that is very moving. The movements she makes in Bowfinger, underrated film. Guerrilla filmmakers, take notes of that, more gelatinous movements.

Mary, the Abel Ferrara film Heather Graham was in, was never really seen outside of Europe. It only received a limited theatrical release in the US three years it premiered and it never even got a DVD release. The movie tackled religious themes as well as Hollywood and was buried because of it. The Passion of the Christ came out the prior year and the higher-ups in the industry did not take too kindly to a film that not only went after the movie business, but also had a character that was pretty much based on Mel Gibson.

Actresses age out quickly in Hollywood. You're the hot new thing when you are in your 20's. Once you hit your 30's that's it for most actresses. There is only so much room for the Helen Mirin's and Meryl Streeps in Hollywood. Most young up and coming popular actresses will be cast aside by the industry.

I flipped through Burt Reynold's autobiography a few years ago(biography?) and he mentioned,I think incredibly, how annoyed he got when he saw Graham braless on the set of BOOGIE NIGHTS. He claimed he was no prude and saw her behaviour as unprofessional. Yeah,Burt Reynolds actually said this. Still recall her understated role in DRUGSTORE COWBOY. She got it just right.
