Something that does somewhat redeem Amber Vantussel's character is that while she's not happy that she lost her boyfriend or the tv competition she at least tried to suck it up and deal with it, unlike her mother who attempted to cheat.
One thing that I love about Mia and Andrew’s break up is that neither one are rude or mean to each other in the break up. They both agree to break up mutually and don’t do any petty or mean things against each other.
The best part of Nick dumping Meredith is her scream. It was funny when she yells Nicky, but I always laugh when she screams the 2nd time when he says “Get the picture?”
I like the original better the actress who played Vicky was really good in it and there was more in the scene then the new one if u haven't watched the original i would look into it it to me is a true classic
Giving ultimatums is the absolute best way to ensure that a good man will break up with a woman. Telling him to choose between an overbearing woman and his children (or even a beloved pet) will earn that woman instant exile from that man’s circle of trust.
I love it in She's The Man when mean girl Monique gets dumped by Sebastian. Twice. First in the pizza restaurant by Sebastian's twin sister Viola disguised as Sebastian (long story), and again the second time by the real Sebastian during his soccer game.
19:59 I went to watch Gone With The Wind for the 75th anniversary, and as soon as Clark Gable gave the “Frankly my dear…..” line, everybody thunderous applauded.
I didn’t realize that. I only saw that movie once in school. I guess I was too young to realize what was going on. I think I was in 8th grade. I have to rewatch it now
I just watched this movie as an adult and omg it's so much better now that I have life experience and I can understand what's happening! Her freak-out was rewind-worthy 🙌🏻
I also love near the end when Aaron finds out that Annie has bought out his partners and thus has majority control of his advertising firm. He begs her to stop and as she leaves the room, she hands him a card and says "Grow from love" which is a jab at him about her former celebrity therapist that he cheated on her with, while she was still treating Annie.
That's not how Mia breaks up with Andrew in the Princess Diarys 2. She gets out and has a meltdown and figures out, that she doesn't want to marry him. After this decision she walks the aisle to the front to Andrew and proposes, that they don't get married and have a chance at real love without having to make it right for everyone around them. He's relieved at the suggestion and thanks her.
I still don’t like this movie I think the first one is so much better. Plus I like the guy from the movie who Mia falls in love with at the end first movie and in the second one I don’t think he is mentioned.
@@Zeroninja-j5c At the beginning of the second movie they do mention him. That Mia and Micheal both decided to be friends and that he was on tour with his band. (Which I believe the actor was in real life) which is why he isn’t in the 2nd movie.
Even though it wasn’t the final breakup, the Bridget Jones scene that should have gone on this list was when Bridget quit and told Daniel she’d rather have a job wiping Saddam Hussein’s ass 🤣
yes!! when I saw this list that was what my mind 1st went to and I was like that HAS to be number 1! but yeah its not more best quitting a job scene not break up :( but was super happy to see a BJD clip on here also I do LOVE titanic so very happy
The funniest part of Nick breaking up with Meredith has to be her scream! The first "Nicky!" is hilarious, but that second scream after he says, "Get the picture?" always cracks me up!
*MY FAVORITES:* Ash and Lance - Sing Nick and Meredith - The Parent Trap Amber and Link - Hairspray Linda and Robbie - The Wedding Singer Bridget and Daniel - Bridget Jones's Diary Viola and Justin - She's the Man Rose and Cal - Titanic Bernie and John Harris - Waiting to Exhale Mia and Andrew - The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement Veronica and J.D. - Heathers Hannah and Richard - Crazy, Stupid, Love Iris and Jasper - The Holiday Torrance and Aaron - Bring It On Kirk and Marnie - She's Out of My League Hannah and Colin - Made of Honor Monique and Sebastian - She's the Man Charles and Henrietta - Four Weddings and a Funeral Austin and Shelby - A Cinderella Story Anna and Hans - Frozen Henry and Glynnis - What a Girl Wants Baroness Elsa Schrader and Captain Von Trapp - The Sound of Music Tracy and George - The Philadelphia Story
“I’d rather be his whore than your wife” is an epic breakup insult in its own right. But then you add that Rose and Cal are elite society and the man she wants is essentially a homeless artist who is a good gambler, and the insult is so much better because she’s telling Cal that he treats her like trash while Jack treats her well and she’d much rather have a good man than a good social standing. Another good one is the set-up breakup in Stepmom. Yeah, it’s not between the main couple, but it’s still pretty great. Though I guess it’s technically not a breakup insult as the boy had already kicked her to the curb for not kissing him. “The guy I see is in high school and it has to be said that when we talk about you he laughs his ass off.” Followed by the “fully clothed in Ralph Lauren” underwear model on the motorcycle waiting for her. Love that scene.
It's more of a rejection than an actual dumping, but it is definitely an iconic scene. They must not have counted it as a breakup because it is absolutely satisfying.
You forgot to mention that while Cal survives the sinking of the Titanic, he loses most if not all of his fortune in the 1929 stock market crash and shoots himself.
The scene where Nick breaks up with Meredith isn’t just about ending a relationship-it’s an unforgettable comedic performance. Meredith’s first scream when she yells “Nicky!” is already funny, but her second scream after Nick casually says “Get the picture?” is the pinnacle of sarcasm! The contrast between Nick’s calm delivery and Meredith’s overly dramatic shrieking creates a moment that’s both hilarious and deeply satisfying. It’s the ultimate takedown of a "drama queen" in the most epic way!
It took me a while to figure out what break up that was that was in there. After realizing it I like it as well. It should have gotten honorable mention or if they do another one
@@Kelsey1442 my favourite scene is the wedding where Clarice says I’ve never been more humiliated in my life and then Amanda says You wanna bet and stands on the wedding dress and it rips. The look on the priest’s face is hilarious.
Lisa and Reuben in Along Came Polly. Who can forget the honeymoon scuba scene and then him kicking her to the curb when she tries to come crawling back?
you could have just as easily done the original Parent Trap with Brian Keith and Maureen O'Hara. BTW, for those who don't know, the actress that played Meredith's mother in the remake, portrayed the Meredith role in the OG version. A great call back.
There might have been no spark between them but unlike others on this list they weren’t bad for each other though Mia was forced to marry in the first place
"Actually, it was a bartender " Oh, I'm sorry, it was a bartender, boom!" Best reaction/breakup. Also not a breakup story but something that happened years ago was during a lockdown event at my old church: it was late as hell, and dad was on the air matress, there just so happened to be a creek nearby. So brother and a group of guys all got together and attempted to get said dad and matress into said creek. I was obviously thinking of that scene while they tried to do what they wanted to do
The Philadelphia Story: When Tracy Lord (Katherine Hepburn in a career saving role) dumps George Kittredge on the day of their wedding and turns down Mike's (Jimmy Stewart) proposal before ending up with ex-husband CK Dexter Haven as an extra dig at George. Two breakups for the price of one in the space of about 15 minutes of screen time.
Annie taking over Aarons business was the real dumping of the basterd. And In The Holiday Kate Winslet character gets told and shown by the retired director who teaches her she is a "Headliner" and "not a best friend" character, that's why she broke up with the creep.
So, I grew up loving School of Rock. Honestly the most satisfying part of it was when Ned Schneebly breaks up with his super controlling girlfriend Patty Di Marco. She starts berating him for wanting to go to the Battle of the Bands to watch the kids play their set, and as she says "When are you finally going to start standing up for yourself", he walks out the door, slamming it behind him. I remember watching that in theaters and the whole audience CHEERED! Sarah Silverman played her part very well.
13:30 😂 That's how my parents got divorced. My dad said it's me or them, choose! Mom looked at him then looked at us and said them. He goes what did you say? She responds T H E M them. Get the picture. I'm sitting there trying not to laugh historically.
I had no idea who number one would be and then number one came on and I was shocked that I didn’t know and completely exhilarated that it was in first place. This break up is just….all the satisfaction from the other break ups rolled up into one. Cal is one of my least favorite characters of all time. And Titanic is one of my favorite movies of all time. That mixed together makes for the most satisfying, I’m-literally-jumping-up-and-down-hysterically-and-gleefully-laughing-while-punching-the-air-in-satisfaction break up in any movie I have ever seen. It’s so beautifully perfect in all it’s savage glory
Sadly with the parent trap when the question is asked "me or them, you choose!" The second option doesn't always win, especially if your parent is a narcissist. I can very much confirm this.
There was the scene in "It takes two" when nice guy Roger said "I can't" (instead of "I do") to his bride, the snobby Clarice , at their wedding. It was a sigh of relief that he would not be bound to her and that he did find the right woman to love after all.
Elle Woods and Warner Huntington from Legally Blonde when he tries to get back together with her after the trial she wins and Elle says something along the lines of if she going to make partnership in a law firm before age 30 that she needs a boyfriend who isnt a total butthead😂.
I’m going to need to correct you on Mia Thermopolis. Since her father was the crown prince of Genovia, she was always royalty. The whole speech she had to make at the end of the movie was to formally denounce her claim to the throne since until she found and read her father’s letter in the diary he left her she didn’t feel like she could handle the responsibility and pressure of being next in line for the throne. Edit: did even you watch the movies before writing this? The only reason Mia is getting married in the first place is because of an antiquated law that dictates that she is ineligible to inherit the throne unless she is married and Nicholas is next in line. She didn’t even start falling for him until after she is engaged to Andrew. And both of them were happy to end the engagement, he even thanks her!
I just wish it would’ve been Patrick Dempsey the one dumping Reese Whiterspoon in Sweet Home Alabama. She didn’t deserve him, and then she punched his mom? 😤

I was actually kinda sad when Muriel broke up with David. But nothing at all was satisfying about Scarlett and Rhett’s relationship, not even the breakup…..
I recognize that the 1998 Parent Trap is more popular than the original, but can we stop with the original slander? Mitch broke up with Vicky way before Nick broke up with Meredith. And the original should be on the list or at least in the same entry.
I would say the same entry. After all Meredith introduces her mother as Vicky. (Same actress as well.) So like mother like daughter. What would have been funny is if they had gotten Hailey Mills to show up, as Susan or Sharon, walk past Vicky and pause to look back with a look that says 'that older female looks familiar'.
50/50 - Adam breaks up with Rachael - "Seriously... Get the f-- off my porch." Can't Hardly Wait - Amanda breaks up with Mike Dexter - "Wow Mike, you really got me there..."
14.) You can say it's not the nicest, but he literally said thank you 😊 11.) Haven't seen this before... THERAPIST?! That guy is so screwed, with no hope

Definitely the Parent Trap! I don’t know it’s just so satisfying! 🤩😍
Something that does somewhat redeem Amber Vantussel's character is that while she's not happy that she lost her boyfriend or the tv competition she at least tried to suck it up and deal with it, unlike her mother who attempted to cheat.
Iris finally giving Jasper the what for in The Holiday and got with Miles instead
Iris breaking up with Jasper in “The Holiday”. She found her Gumption!
Where is the legally blonde breakup with Warren that was very funny.
One thing that I love about Mia and Andrew’s break up is that neither one are rude or mean to each other in the break up. They both agree to break up mutually and don’t do any petty or mean things against each other.
TOTALLY
They acted like reasonable adults in the situation.
I mean they dated for a week
@@bryceknowles1380 Which isn’t how a lot of characters act when they break up
What about Elle Woods and Warner Huntington III from Legally Blonde??
That was a classic
That was greatly satisfying. 😂
Exactly 😂
Technically it wasn't their breakup that was satisfying, but Elle's rejection of him when he attempts to reconcile
He broke up with her, and they never got back together, he tried, but she rejected him.
The best part of Nick dumping Meredith is her scream. It was funny when she yells Nicky, but I always laugh when she screams the 2nd time when he says “Get the picture?”
She asked a FATHER a dumb question
Yup. Best movie breakup ever!
I like the original better the actress who played Vicky was really good in it and there was more in the scene then the new one if u haven't watched the original i would look into it it to me is a true classic

T-H-E-M, them!
"When you ask a father to choose between a woman and his kids, the latter will win every time." Wish that was true in reality.
I love it in She's The Man when mean girl Monique gets dumped by Sebastian. Twice. First in the pizza restaurant by Sebastian's twin sister Viola disguised as Sebastian (long story), and again the second time by the real Sebastian during his soccer game.
I love that sence!, Viola was helpping her twin brother And she called Monique Ugglyy.
Yes! This should have been an honorable or dishonorable mention 😂
Same. I was hoping that they would show those too
I think they covered that break up in a video where "the queen bee gets what she deserves" or something like that

Annie unleashing her anger and frustration at Aaron and dumping him in The First Wives Club is the best thing ever
Yes!, Even when she yelled that last 'Im Sorry!!.
I just watched this movie as an adult and omg it's so much better now that I have life experience and I can understand what's happening! Her freak-out was rewind-worthy 🙌🏻
That movie is so good.
...and don't forget Annie's monologue at the end of the movie, where she explains that Aaron asked her to reconcile and she tells him to stuff it.

He begs her to stop and as she leaves the room, she hands him a card and says "Grow from love" which is a jab at him about her former celebrity therapist that he cheated on her with, while she was still treating Annie.
I saw Titanic in the theater when it was first released. And when Rose spat in Cal’s face, the whole room clapped.
Hell yeah!
I absolutely love the pure joy on Corny’s face and in his voice when he says “Tracy Turnblad!” It’s so awesome 😂
That's not how Mia breaks up with Andrew in the Princess Diarys 2. She gets out and has a meltdown and figures out, that she doesn't want to marry him. How is Elle Woods not on here!?! Legally Blonde had the best dumping a jerk scene ever!!!
It's more of a rejection than an actual dumping, but it is definitely an iconic scene. They must not have counted it as a breakup because it is absolutely satisfying.
Muriel's Wedding is one of the most underrated movies ever. I've probably seen it 10 times.
You forgot to mention that while Cal survives the sinking of the Titanic, he loses most if not all of his fortune in the 1929 stock market crash and shoots himself.
Let’s not forget Rose’s mother. She died an old woman with nothing, believing Rose died on the ship. Kinda satisfying on top of it.

9 to 5 - Judy telling her judgemental ex husband Dick "Hit the road Buster! This is where you get off!!" and slams the door in his face. 👏😃
My favourite breakup is at the end of Center Stage, when Jodie tells Cooper „as a boyfriend, you kinda suck“
But also Elle and Walter from Legally Blonde! Although I guess that was technically not a break up when she gets over him 🤔
I love when Viola smacks Justin in the face at the Fair. “First of all, it’s not a stupid ‘soccer’ issue and you’re a jerk… ohh, look times up.”
Dang! Kate Winslet is the Queen of satisfying break ups in movies.
Gone with the Wind should have been number one! Rhett Butler's line is epic, still quoted today and very controversial at the time.
The best part about #11 is at the end, when its revealed the husband tried to get back with her and she told him to "drop dead".
Our family just watched The Parent Trap last night! LOL
Honorable mention-
What A Girl Wants when Henry breaks up with Glynnis
Henry punching Alistair in the face was the icing on the cake in that scene
Tina Turner and Ike Turner in "What's Love Got To Do With It?" and Prince Humperdink and Buttercup from "The Princess Bride".

The way Rose broke it off with that man in titanic was awesome
Gone with the Wind is Number one. Rose & Jack on the Titanic? I couldn't even remember it!
You are correct
I'd say Midsommar had a pretty fiery breakup scene.
That is so worth it!
There was the scene in "It takes two" when nice guy Roger said "I can't" (instead of "I do") to his bride, the snobby Clarice , at their wedding. It was a sigh of relief that he would not be bound to her and that he did find the right woman to love after all.
titanic and the parent trap are tied as no.1 for me
You should do series breakups too!
Meredith really thought that he would choose her over his own daughters. The audacity of that woman 🤭 Well played girls 👧👧
Of course Rose and Cal is #1.
Cal *deserved* it. He was a greedy piece of crap who would have treated Rose as property rather than a wife.
Where's the Baroness and Captain Von Trapp from The Sound of Music?
Most of these breakups seem to this point out the emotional immaturity of women and girls. They don’t even even know what they want. You go, girl!
Whats Love Got To Do With It? Tina finally getting away from Ike was the best thing to ever happen to her and you could feel it
Meredith is forever the Cruella stand-in we never deserved, didn’t know we needed, and is the icon for the lifetimes
Great list
Yesssssss !!! You mentioned Muriel’s wedding !!!! 😂
Omg I can't believe Crazy Rich Asians didn't make the list! 😂
What about Kim breaking up with Jim in Edward Scissorhands and Elle breaking up with Warner in Legally Blonde?
I love The Social Network. I never get tired of watching it. Aaron Sorkin is such a good writer.
Elle Woods and Warner Huntington from Legally Blonde when he tries to get back together with her after the trial she wins and Elle says something along the lines of if she going to make partnership in a law firm before age 30 that she needs a boyfriend who isnt a total butthead😂.
