    I have 19 370z Nismo tech, completely agree with your statement with it being too quiet but it does have better flow because it's a true dual exhaust :D

    • @adamgalindo

      Yup you’re right, I believe it’s the reason the Nismo has slightly more power than a base 370. You should cut the muffler off 👀

    • @CM20022
      @CM20022 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice, that price gap is insane...its starting to get crazy everywhere. With that $ you saved you could just snag a full NISMO body kit for around 1k (US)...they have roughly the same power and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Just found a place called z1 motorsports and they carry a ton of OEM products, should be able to get everything necessary to convert the base into NISMO (not sure about drivetrain). This OEM kit is pretty nice www.z1motorsports.com/front-bumper/nissan/oem-2015-nismo-370z-parts-conversion-kit-front-and-rear-bumperfascia-p-13245.html) the only problem would be the color. You might be able to find a wrap that matches your car and use that for the kit pieces. Looks like they also sell all the OEM NISMO badges too, toss those on and boom got a NISMO.
      Usually, I'd stray away from putting a high end kit on a base car (i.e. people putting hellcat kits on their sxts), but with the Z the performance difference is minimal. If you want more power you could just grab a CAI,headers, and a tune (new exhaust would be nice too).

    • @fujimie6681
      @fujimie6681 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CM20022 Yeah that's what I thought too I could get the nismo bodykit and with just an exhaust upgrade it could match the nismo in term of power sadly where I live the exhaust law are pretty strict and I know a 370z get loud with an aftermarket exhaust but I'm still thinking of doing it.
      My 2nd car (Sentra SER Spec-V) got one and I never got pulled over in like 3y.
      Maybe get some nismo seat too since the base one are kinda lacking.
      But yeah for the money I saved going with a base I could build like a nice turbo Z and still have leftover money.

    • @chodkowski01
      @chodkowski01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even though the Nismo cost more the extra’s are worth it. I just can’t figure the guys who buy the base then try to make it look like the Nismo spending all that money. Besides the resale value is much more on the Nismo.

    • @fujimie6681
      @fujimie6681 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chodkowski01 Well I guess it depends on who is buying the car i don't think it's worth an extra 15k when the cars has like 8-10 x more millage.
      You can even argue that right now it's even worth less since the 400z is about to come out and is gonna cost the same price as per say used Nismo.
      I think the Nismo is great just not 15k for 10 times the milles more great especially when you can make a base even better then one with that kind of money.

    Nice review and video. I test drove a 2020 Nismo today with 13k miles on it as I have been wanting one for a while now. I drove my '06 G35 Coupe to the dealership to do the test drive. Due to the current car shortage they wanted $46k for it and that's just ridiculous considering they were $45k brand new. It was also already modded with exhaust, intake and coil overs. Power was good but the interior is very dated. It was fun to drive, but not $46k fun. I'm going to wait a little longer for prices to come down. Keeping the G for now.

    • @adamgalindo
      @adamgalindo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea smart choice 46k seems really extreme and isn’t justified for the car, I would just wait, look for older models around 2015-2017 or just wait for the 400Z lol

      @@adamgalindo Yep. Also, I'm with you on the clutch feel. Don't know how to describe it but it feels "weird". After the test drive I got back in my G and the clutch felt way heavier, easier to engage and non-slippery.

    I had an old outdated car many years ago. It was a 1967 GT fastback mustang and I wish I still had that old outdated car still. I bought my Nismo brand new in 2015 for $43,000 out the door. The base was $30,000. I figured the body kit, recaros, sport brakes, wider Rays wheels, $4,700 satellite communications package, suspension, exhaust, 3.92 differential gears vs 3.69 (base & sport) much better resale value than base was worth the extra $13,000 for the Nismo. As far as the quiet exhaust I have enough sheriffs following me around, I don’t need the extra attention. In 15-20 years when manuals no longer exist people will be looking for your Nismo to buy and they won’t mind that it’s outdated.

Pretty much all cars today offer assistance in driving, not the Z. If you fuck up, its on you. This is why these cars are sought after. One day you will understand. Also, many like myself did not buy this car for the infotainment system. We bought the car for the handling and performance of a naturally asperated true sports car. They are dying fast. Hey I just test drove a z today and absolutely loved it! But literally the only issue I have that's stopping me from getting one is the clutch. Like you said, it feels weird. I drove it for like 45 min and I couldn't get used to it. Also, disengaging the clutch from 1st to 2nd gear is really rough and every other gear switch seems smooth. is that the same for you or just the one that drove? lol. and if so does that clutch assembly fix it?

      You can literally take your sweet time on both the up and down shifts, with SRM, but without it, you have to time it properly while adding in gas at the right time for both up and downshifts.

    Fast Intentions CF Exhaust with 18" resonators. Do that. Then if / when you move to a NON DEQ testing area, go for their longtube headers. Oil Cooler is a must. Upgrade the radiator. You can use the coin trick on the back hatch. You need to buy all of the following: Pioneer "screen" (Btw: We used to call these "aftermarket car stereos"... is the new Trendy thing just to say "Screen"? ); Pick out a nice 4-5 channel amp. You're going to want to run the front speakers fully active (meaning, this will take time/effort/energy to properly time align, but once you do, you'll finally have decent sound in there). I'd recommend something nice from RF for amps, or JL audio. You can get a custom sub box for the back, which, will put more weight over the rear tires. While you take the door panels off, get some sound deadening on the doors.
    Brakes: Z1 2 piece rotors, assuming you actually hit the canyons... which to me, was/is the entire point of owning the car, not putting around "flexin bruh" in the city... oh and sound deadening in the rear area of the car, mainly around the spare tire area will help once you upgrade that stereo and doing real/actual road trips ("You mean leave the city bruh...?!" I know this is a radical concept for some car owners, but there is a LIFE outside of the big cities... and much better roads to drive). I've driven several national parks across the west coast and see close to Zero 350 370z's out there, even though I can fit a weeks worth of camping gear in the car, so don't even try it with the "I got no room bruh" excuse. Leave the city, go see the world, and you'll get much better photos of the car then the dime a dozen stupid parking garage photos that millenials seem to mindlessly gravitate towards.
    Other than that you can spend money on a tune, but don't expect much. Short of putting up around $20,000 to PROPERLY supercharge/turbo, tune, fix fueling issues, transmission issues = just start saving your money for the new Z which will be here around the end of the year, and better yet, wait til end of 2023 for the sociopaths running car dealerships to actually sell for MSRP. The new Z will be much more cost effective to modify with a tune, some exhaust work, and I Believe the cooling on the VR30 is much less of an issue than the VQ... oh and you get your "Screen"

      If you buy a base model don’t waste money trying to make it look like a Nismo. If you add up all the features. Aero package, Recaro seats, Rays wheels, 3.92 limited slip differential, sport brakes, $4,700 satellite package, suspension package, Nismo package alone will bring premium resale value. Take a pen to paper and figure those costs up. Go under a base model and a Nismo model on a lift and you’ll see a difference.

    Its not just your nismo 370z for the trunk not opening everytime. My 2004 enthusiasts 350z has that same problem too and it only has the oem spoiler.
    Also the trunk doesn't stay open in the cold, it will close immediately. In the hot it only stays open for about 3 minutes then it will close. I think its time for new trunk struts.

    Love the look of the 370z but once the 400z comes out the older models will be super out dated. I have heard that the engine in the infinity coupe(forgot model name) isn't that great of an engine. I believe it has two models. A 400 hp one and a 500 hp one. I like to believe the 400z will be fitted with the 400 hp one. Plus I have heard Nissan's quality is shiet right now especially of the stupid auto transmission. Hope the manuals are more durable. Nice cars when they are new but you don't see very many old ones out on the streets as of they all just broke down and died(350z).

    • @BamaScorpio69
      @BamaScorpio69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So it's just the Z, bot 400Z. And while the inside of the 350/370 will be outdated the body style will not be. And I see 350's and 370's all the time and I live in Birmingham, AL. Hell, I just saw a old man driving a 350Z Nismo convertible.....lol!

  • @DamonGanG1

    Nice Z, you should of kept the Nismo Muffler and just upgraded your Cats to Berk HFC's. The high flow utilizes the true dual exhaust.
    I have a 11 G37 sports coupe- upgraded to IPL/NISMO H pipe with true dual midpipe with Berk HFC and Tanabe Axleback. It sounds amazing like a true Skyline. It is quiet when you are cruising but sounds like a monster when you open up. No drone and very little rasp from HFC.
    I love those wheels.
