Abt Mate, I love his performance as Der Tod, because everyone else (Uwe, Mark, Martin, Oli) all go for more like ethereal and seductive. All put in a lot of effort to be graceful and very out of this world. Mate just goes WILD. Constantly growling, snarling at everyone, seduction turned up to 1000, he also moves kind of in fast bursts which makes him seem a little erratic. He still has that grace and the ethereal vibes, also he straight up looks like a disney prince😂, but like a little bit feral.
If you are interested in lesser known musicals, here are four nice shows from my own country, Poland - Wiedźmin (The Witcher) from Gdynia's Musical Theatre - check "Ballada o umarłych" - "The Ballad about the Deads" - Lalka ( "The Doll") from Gdynia's Musical theatre - Chłopi (The Peasants) from Gdynia's Musical Theatre - for white voice singing (folk singing) lovers - 1989 from Słowacki Theatre in Kraków - for Hamilton lovers
You're welcome :) Worth checking out is also "Virtuoso" about Ignacy Paderewski, a pianist, composer and politician ("Paddymania" song from the show is even recorded in English, but... Polish version is better :) ). It was a very popular show in Poznań's musical theatre. There is also cult classic oldie - Józefowicz's "Metro" from Warsaw. Currently we also have a lot of Broadway/ West End adaptations but the ones I mentioned are unique Polish musicals that either had a long run or became very popular here :)
And big thank you from me for promoting Belgian musicals :). That song from Rubens and by workers are lovely. I wouldn't have heard them if not for your video
aaaaaaa this video has me so excited, I'd forgotten how much I loved these musicals (also drew sarich's poor unfortunate souls??? how did I miss that oh my goddd)
I have had the great good fortune to see Elizabeth live in Vienna. Thank you for the clips and introducing me to several European musicals. Wish more American audiences would appreciate them so that it would make financial sense to translated and bring some of them here like the Europeans have welcomed Wicked and other US musicals. Hope you keep showing us more. Thank you.
Thanks for including some Korean casts. Have you seen any other Korean or other Asian productions (I recommend Mozart! and Mozart L’Opera Rock in Japanese, and of course Elisabeth), or Asian musicals (I recommend Frankenstein, Isabeau, Cross Road, Smoke)?
It's a flemish musical called 40-45 from Studio 100. It's about 2 brothers in WW2. There is a dvd available but I don't think that there are subtitles.
Serkan is the reason why First Viennese Revival of Elisabeth is the definite version. Mate is great, but his character is only a quarter of all time on stage. Serkan's is almost all the time. It requires more than one actor to break into a such greatness.
So happy to see someone who loves the hungarian Roméo et Juliette trio ! Thank you for this compilation
yes, yes yes, to all of them
but also- we NEED part II
Live laugh love Pia Douwes
Honestly studio100 effects deserves it's own video
Not until I watched this video until I realized there are so many European musical I haven't seen! Thanks for putting these here. Also, Pia supremacy!

Just wanna ask.... What is the second musical that was shown? It looked SOOO damn COOOL I wanna watch it.
