    Thanks Anka, but you should mention something about the water and give some instructions, as I doubt they would be as good without that. My dough is rising now and I will bake in the morning. When I visited Germany when I was young I would help my cousin bake starting at 4:00 am. When the rolls were done we would drive around the village delivering them. Each house had its own spot to leave them. When they awoke warm rolls were waiting for them. What a wonderful way of life for them.

      Thank you so much for your feedback and for sharing your precious memories. I recommend using lukewarm water. You are right, I should have been more precise in the video. All the best from Anke

    Just came across your bread rolls and I definitely want to give this try. They look amazing and I bet taste amazing as well. Does the water have to be warm? Greetings from New Zealand

      Hi Vanessa, the water can be lukewarm, although it's not essential. I hope you'll enjoy the bread rolls. By the way, I also live in NZ. 🙂
      Best regards, Anke

    Greetings from Canada! Your rolls look delicious. Will I get the same result if I use 4 cups of all purpose flour instead of bread flour?

      Give it a try. I would just be careful when you add the water. You might need to add slightly less water than with the bread flour. Btw., we just arrived back from Canada today. We spent two weeks there (in BC) and loved it.

    😊😋👍DELICIOUS! I have a question: we have to bake them at 420 farenheit or I can bake them to 180 Celsius? Thanks for that Delicious recipe!

      Thanks so much for your question. In general, I like to bake rolls or bread at a higher temperature. 180 Degrees Celsius is great for cakes and cookies. I would suggest baking the rolls at least at 200 Degrees Celsius. Please let me know how it goes.

    I used to bake these for my German boyfriend years ago, but I could never get the big air bubbles. I am definitely trying your recipe! Is there a sourdough recipe that you like?

    • @SweetAsCooking

      I haven't tried these with sourdough but will do at some stage. I am traveling at the moment but will give it a go once I am back. So keep your eyes peeled. 🙂

    Why was there a bowl of water in the oven?

    • @SweetAsCooking
      @SweetAsCooking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bowl of water is there to create steam in the oven.
