Actually, in ear monitors were a godsend to all the musicians on the state. I'm not talking about auto tune here. When my bro and his bands were playing rock n roll in the 50s and 60s, they would crank up the volume in the amps so high in order for the musicians to hear each other. I remember standing next to the amplifier towers to be able to hear the bass well. The vocalists were actually forced to sing louder than they should have because they couldn't tell if they were loud enough. Some of us, musicians ad audience, ended up with permanent mid- range hearing damage. First came the floor monitors, and then the ear monitors. They weren't trying to correct pitch, they were just trying to hear each other.
As a kid growing up in the 60's, we took this kind of talent for granted. Why? Because everyone back then was ultra-talented. It was expected or you didn't make it. They had to be talented, because gimmicks were not allowed. Nowadays, it's all gimmick and no talent!

I'm 89 years old and happy to say I lived through that time when they first sang that song and the other one I like summertime you'll have to play that also you'll like it. They weren't Brothers but very good friends. Bobby Hatfield in my estimation was the best singer ever. And left his way too soon only in his 60s in the year2007.🤩🤩 oh forgot that was a great reaction thank you.
I remember when this came out! I was in my car, just running to town, listening to my car radio and out of nowhere came this spectacular sound! I was in amazement! THAT SOUND! OH, my GOODNESS! I still love this song after all of these years! Just think, NO autotune, no inhancement of any kind! This is when people actually tried to hone their craft and perfect their GOD given talent! They were so perfect! Bobby Hatfield died in 2005 from lung cancer, however Bill continued to sing, and at one time did get a replacement! Bill Medley later in life, along with Jennifer Warren, sang that phenomenol song for the movie, "Dirty Dancing", "I've Had The Time of My Life" won many Grammies and is the most loved song and also the best dance scene ever! Auto Tune has often been used in music today to enhance many mediocre singers’ voices. All races. All of the groups we listened to several decades ago, Black, White and yes Purple with Yellow Polkadots sang without auto tune. Here's something you probably didn't know. These brothers opened for the Beatles on their first American tour, but after a short time because of the crazy girls going nuts, they stopped. Then for another kicker, they were the opening band for the "Rolling Stones" on their first American tour. Yes they were terrific back in those days, and You Lost that Loving feeling is the most played song in the history of music.

Bill Medley Baritone Voice and Bobby Hatfield Counter Tenor voice are the Dynamic Dou known as the 'Righteous Brothers.' Great reaction to a duo that were moderately famous back in their heyday of the 60's. They are more popular today than when they were performing these hits back in the 60's.
This is 1) the most requested song of the 20th century 2) the most played song of the 20th century. Now you see why. And when that "baby, bring it on back" it is said 7 women spontaneously broke out pregnant. 😂
This was played on radio stations 24/7. You heard it everywhere. They were a great duo and everything they did was perfect. Thanks so much for the great reaction to the Righteous Brothers ( by the way, they were not actual brothers, and not even related).

I think you would love Unchained Melody Sung by the righteous Brothers. It really highlights Bobby Hatfield. Unchained melody comes much later and you can see how much older Bobby Hatfield is in unchained Melody. These songs are so dear to my heart, beautiful beautiful voices.

I wasn't a teenager when the song came out but my father absolutely loved the Righteous Brothers!! He would play You've Lost that Loving feeling cranked as high as he could get that radio to go and he and I was just enjoy a truly fabulous song!!!!!!

You REALLY, REALLY need to watch the live version!!! It's IDENTICAL to the video. Absolutely NO remastering or auto tune...or any of the stuff they use today to alter voices! They are older in the live version and it's phenomenal!!!

I was born in 76 and when I first heard this song when I was a kid without seeing them I straight up thought it was a black man and black woman duet. That's just what my brain pictured.
Yesterday was my 65th birthday. This makes me think back to the mid 1960s when everyday it seemed that magical music came from the television, radio and my parents record collection every day. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be, either that or today's music is a load of $&!t.
The high(tenor) voice guy is Bobby Hatfield, the dark(baritone) voice is Bill Medley, Bill had a known vocal range of almost 3 octaves before he would go to falsetto,, quite a wide range, Bobby had a range of almost 5 octaves, known as a contra-tenor, before falsetto. That range is extremely rare.
Those vocals near the end just strike you straight through the heart, don’t they

wowee the old days were so good they thought nothing of it with these 2 lol im used to the other fancier video but i like this now too love the casual nature of it, a few guys n girls dancing nonchalantly. they were truly great timeless classic and they had a few of them .
Bobby Hatfield was a natural counter-tenor and had a 4 1/2 octave range. Only around 1% of natural first tenors even have the capability to get to those notes. He's basically a unicorn.

Here's something you probably didn't know. These brothers opened for the Beatles on their first American tour, but after a short time because of the crazy girls going nuts, they stopped. Then for another kicker, they were the opening band for the "Rolling Stones" on their first American tour. Yes they were terrific back in those days, and You Lost that Loving feeling is the most played song in the history of music.
