What Natalya Bailey spoke about business start-up is so true. Make sure the vision will get you out of bed in the morning. Start-ups are very difficult and just being opportunistic isn't going to make you go through all the hardles that awaits you. You'll have to conduct a lot of projects which comes along with failed experiments, and from those mistakes, you'll learn more and come up with new ways to improve your product that can survive in the business environment.
About collision avoidence maneouvers: my understanding is the following: satellites in low Earth orbit need to boost themselves back up regularly, but there is some leeway as to *when* that boost is applied. By either delaying a boost or moving up in time the satelite operators can ensure that the satelite is not at the same altitude as some known piece of space debris, when it's looking like the satelite and the debris are moving such they will come close to interception. That is, the collision avoidance does nto require additional propellent; the collision avoidance can be absorbed in the regular altitude boosts.

Know basically nothing about propulsion but hearing the description of ion propulsion, when talking about the positively charged propulsion beam that needs to be neutralized, could you redrirect the positive charged ions coming back to the craft and use them as extra generation of thrust like a light sail type idea?

@@garethmorgan3665 Bah, unless he was close by and the jealous/extremely violent type, my boyfriend means nothing. In fact many women use that as a shit test, and you apparently failed. It is not like she was married with kids, that would be different. However, if you cannot get past the mere mention of another man, you are not worthy. Hint, that is the test. Next time that happens ignore it and ask her out, if she says "but what about my boy friend?" just say he is not invited. You would be surprised how often that works, and how many happily married couples were dating other people when they met. You just cannot give up to easily, no women wants that. I am not suggesting to be a psychopath about it either, just keep it light while not being deterred, if that makes sense.
@@ericmichel3857 You could have a point my man but to tell the truth I was slightly exaggerating for comic effect. In fact, the particular case I was thinking about she did turn out to have a boyfriend and I ended up visiting them in Israel when she moved out there to live with him.Cool guy. I'm sure some woman do this but I can't be arsed with people who play games so I personally do't feel I've ever lost anything.
@@garethmorgan3665 Wow, so you went and watched her being happy with some other guy? Yikes. It is not a game, it is how they get to know you, and whether you realize it or not everyone does this in one way or another. It is a way of seeing how you handle adversity. They themselves may not even be consciously aware of what they are doing. All they know is based on how you respond dictates how they will feel about you. Whether or not she actually had a boyfriend, or if he is a nice guy or not, is irrelevant. He wasn't your friend, and boy friends come and go all the time. You are a good guy too right? When did standing up to adversity and going after what you want become a bad thing? No wonder this world is the way it is today. If she was deeply committed your advances would not have worked, but no one would blame you for trying. As long as you did it in a light, playful, respectful way, at the very least she would be flattered, and if things did not work out down the road....However, by backing down and not even trying at the first sign of adversity, you told her that you were someone not even worth considering in a romantic way. Those stories of the "nice guys" getting the girl are complete nonsense. Be a good man, not a nice guy. The only women a nice guy ends up with (if any) is one where she feels like she needs to settle. That is not the relationship anyone should want, it causes resentment and the first opportunity they see for something better and... But hey, if you are fine just being "friends" and watching women you are attracted to go off with other men, by all means stick with your current strategy. You might be alone watching other men with your dream girl, but at least you will have the moral high ground. Just something to think about.

Lex' Dad is a plasma physicist; that was the original intent behind the comment. :P
I used to follow Joe Rogan. First saw you on there. He's great but you spark the thought process so much more. I wish you all the very best as you are a pretty amazing individual.
My heart beats for brilliant voracious readers. Wonderful conversation!
Edward Witten ...... please a podcast with him.....Lex please make it happen
Best lex interview so far. She was absolutely brilliant
Hey Lex, I know you get a boatload of "get ____ on the podcast" but here's another one anyway. Any Apollo program Astronaut or mission control specialist. These guys and gals are dwindling in numbers and it would be wonderful to have you of all people give a really in depth to these participants of history, science and engineering.
Anyone else on board with this?
Yeah, get Buzz on the show Lex
Buzz sadly has suffered quite a bit of cognitive decline in the last few years:( I think Mike Collins would be a wonderful guest for Lex!
Underrated comment! This would be great. Smarter Every Day has some good videos in this vein but I would really like to have a Lex style long form interview with some of those guys!!!
I actually had fun and enjoyed this podcast even though I understood so very little of what you were talking about at the beginning. A couple of times I almost ended it but hung in there and am very glad I did! Lex you have come a long way recently and seem so much better at projecting excitement and ask questions that continue the conversation even when I am lost! Good job! Overall, super enjoyable!
I'm just happy that even though we're all going through this pandemic, Lex still gets dressed up and puts on some lipstick for the occasion.
Lex I feel like im watching you evolve as a Podcaster. This is very cool to watch play out.
Thanks for the interview Lex. It's nice to have an example of a female CEO that's bright and humble that I can show my 2 girls.
Thank God u exist as my contemporary, Lex Fridman.. .nd ofcourse red wine✌
"I can speak with confidence, as a descendant of apes, that we don't know what the hell we're doing"
Love it
JRE and Lex fridman, best Podcasts out their!
We are focused on the push and it’s easier to pull
This was so damn fascinating. Such a great guest.
The idea of giant consciousness on a different timescale is contemplated in regard to fungi. Please look at Dr. Paul Stamets’s work.
@Lex Fridman this appears to be hacked.
Found you on rogan many moons ago and been a fan since keep up the good work sir
Stop reading comments lol
Electricity, magnetic fields, ions, and charged particles explain pyramids perfectly
In the most consensual and gentlemanly of ways, Lex would definitely 1 her 0.
Great guest and another great interview--thank you, Lex!
Maybe future starships, travelling regularly to and from Mars, will attract them in. Alien contact must be good.
So if the stuff you through out the back of the engine doesn’t push against anything in space how dose it move the space craft ?
“Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.”
Imagine what a pro player she is in Kerbal Space Program.
No need for her to play Kerbal. She does it for real.
Thank you for such visionary shows.
"I'm sure there's a Wikepedia page for ion engines"
Me: Reading Wikepedia page on ion engines whilst listening 😅
Lex. I love your channel. I'm so glad you decided to do podcasts.
The man married to her is a lucky man! She's awesome!
Know basically nothing about propulsion but hearing the description of ion propulsion, when talking about the positively charged propulsion beam that needs to be neutralized, could you redrirect the positive charged ions coming back to the craft and use them as extra generation of thrust like a light sail type idea?
Lex "isn't everything a love story?" Fridman
Forty years ago I was a young bearded industrial designer commissioned to design the 'hardware' of a device which could connect 8-bit microcomputers using fast serial transmission down a coaxial cable, forming a *_network._* The hope was that, one day, ALL computers would be able to connect to an INTERNET. It all happened much faster and to so much a greater degree than I expected. Now I'm an old marathon-runner, slowing to a stop, watching people disappearing over the horizon, talking about privately leaving this planet for the next. We're all primitives to our descendants.
I don't see it that way. It's like bricks in a wall. You were part of the building.
@@gusgrizzel8397 A brick is not a _creative_ process. Intellectual development is _explosive._ It can be a *_rocket,_* or a *_bomb._* Oh, and I was never a part of any building. :)
C'mon gents, we needn't be so thirsty, we're her for the intellectual conversation after all!
showing an accurate and deep understanding; great perceptive. Thank you for all the insightful information. 💡
Lex was falling in love until he heard about the 3 kids...
Haha, yeah been there. Getting a good vibe going with a girl in a pub then the words ' my boyfriend...' :-(
@@garethmorgan3665 Bah, unless he was close by and the jealous/extremely violent type, my boyfriend means nothing.
Damn.
You’re getting there Lex, proud of you. Bring a single one to the podcast next 😉.
Insanely intellectual podcast. I understood somewhat lol but she so amazing in all aspects. Intelligence, attractive, kind and genuine. Lucky husband that man is.
